Shop wanted $1500 to remove a broken exhaust stud on my 6.0 GM. Instead I pulled wheel, inner fender and my bud (welder) came over and welded a nut (like you) over broken stud. Cost me a case of beer and had a great visit. Worked like a charm. Well done sir :-)
Great work young man, seeing it in granny gear brings back memories of me picking up hay by myself, a bungee strap on steering wheel, don’t miss that, thank you for your videos, very talented.
Wow I was actually going to stop at your house this weekend to try to buy my truck back from you but i guess thats not going to happen. I miss that beast! Glad to see you got to the LS swap. Im solid axle swapping my 06 gmc 2500 HD 2wd. I was looking for info on LS to sm456 and there was old blue.
This video is exactly what is have been looking for I also have a 1984 k20 and have been thinking about doing a ls swap didn't know it was so easy thank you so much man you the man!!!!!!
You made that look easy brother. My old 350 bit the dust the other day and I'm about to either do LS LQ4 or LT1 L86 swap in my 84 C10 step side 2WD truck. Thanks for the video.
Pretty damn smart thinking - I was with ya - compression all over the place - ring seat issue & stuck valve = she was like a 60 year old woman - once ya get her all lubed up they run like a champ
Awesome. Can’t wait to put my 6.0 in my 89 K5 Jimmy. I’m jealous of your shop and that fork lift. How can you drive that lift without the police lights on? I couldn’t do it. LOL.
I stumbled across a mostly complete lq4 yesterday while scouting and am hoping it hasn't been tampered with when I go with tools friday. I'm hoping I have the luck that you did with you 5.3 so it won't break the bank getting it ready for my delta 88.
And this is why people dislike LS swaps it’s sooo simple to do but hey I think they’re just mad they have to dump $$$ into a high end block only to get gapped by a vehicle with a junkyard LS with a spinny wind Boi on it that they put 1,000$ into lol great job man love it

Having torn down a few motor’s myself, I find that if you break loose exhaust manifold bolts by hand first, then you can hit them with an air tool, you won’t break bolts in LS Aluminum heads. Great video. o7
Thx for the video im doing the same thing to my 82 GMC Jimmy this summer tired of farting with the old carborated small block and its tired.. good video
I have a 87 K30 Army truck with a 6.0 and a TH400 trans. It uses the 350 clam shell motor mounts to the frame and Dirty Dingo Motor Mounts to the Block. It is like pulling your 350 out and putting in another 350. I would recommend the Holley Sniper Fuel Tank for that swap.
I got my studs out by torching them with map gas, and cooling them with water a few cycles, and letting it sit with penetrating oil. Then right before you try to loosen the bolt, heat up the bolt again, and the surrounding head, cool the bolt with cold water so it contracts from the hot head, and use a ratchet to pull the stud. Impacts always break them
Awesome 👏 I have a 83 k20 4x4 just put 2 in rocky ridge lift clutch n 2 new tanks it’s a 3 speed manual with L granny gear I ❤️❤️❤️❤️good luck awesome truck 👍
Nice job, really enjoyed the video. Are the exhaust manifolds tight against the frame? I have heard that manifolds from a Camaro tuck in closer to the engine.

so with stock harness and ecu it runs fine in an old truck? no professional tuning, or aftermarket parts besides a new fuel pump and return line? LS power steering or stock K10 pump? altternator? waterpump?
Hi, looking for some to put a ls into my 87 chevy short box 4x4. I have the engine and tyranny. It's in and running in a one owner 2006 silverado with only 70 miles .
I must of replayed this video 6 times at the end to try 2 get a good look at it. It looks to me that steering wheel came from 88- 89 Chevy cavalier rs/z24 car look it up on Ebay see if it looks the same to you.
What did you do about the exhaust manifold on the passenger side ? I have an 76 K10 4x4 I did an LS Swap 5.3 / 4L60e and my stock manifold won’t fit because of the ear on the manifold hits the frame and egr outlet that you plugged hits by the motor mount
great video, good work, just a question, are you really going to marry that space age technology engine to the Mayflower trans? ha ha I had one of them boat anchors and they soooo suck
Hey….. look I swapped an old truck with a newer engine. I absolutely h8 these swaps. Big finger to fuel injection and anything requiring a PC. Whatcha gonna do when can’t use a PC to fix your crap?
Did you have to cut that cross member out right were the crank pulley is? My buddy did one for his son and it was hitting there bad same truck same engine they cut it out

Looks good! Im getting ready to swap a 6.0 LQ4 into my 79 K10 ive read alot about people having to cut or replace a crossmember to clear the ls oil pan. did you have to do that? And what motor mount adapters did you use?
How much would you charge for this swap, in another old chevy c10? I realize it can vary, but can you ball park it for me? Trying to figure out how much I should pay, so I don't end up getting ripped off. Just a 5.3L or a 6.0L swap. Taking the tired old 350 out.
You need a trolley on a beam with chain fall it makes pulling and installing engines so nice when your a one man show! That jumping in and out of the engine bay gets old!
did you have to change the oil pan on any of your k10 swaps? i see some people are swapping to a conversion pan because the crossmember hits? is this necessary?
Would you do an ls swap for me and roughly how much$$$$$? I bought an 82 k10 that started life as a 6.2 diesel and somewhere along the way was converted to gas (305). I would like to put my'05 suburban 5.3 into the k10. The t5.3 had 250k on it but runs good
You’re a smart guy I don’t have half the sense it takes to do everything you just did and make it look that easy. Great job man

Mark Suddreth Thanks for the kind words Mark!
How can I buy a motor engine from you
Dam!! Bro you made that look to easy.
I like the way you got the studs out I use my welder for the broken sticking out ones but never thought about doing it like that!
The broken bolt extraction technique was worth the watch alone! Goo job!
Thanks for watching!

Thats the kind of trucks I need built for my hunting business. Power, Chevy, and solid! Saskatchewan Canada
That's exactly how I extract them too, works great, sometimes you have to build it up too before putting the nut on
Im glad you showed me how to get this PITA LS engine out so i can put a 502 in there.
I love the lights on the fork lift. Looks like the cops from when I was a kid.

much agreed!! lmao
Yes I agree, it’s funny because my 2000 Silverado has a slow creep too. I could probably do the same thing
Always take the bike in the back for the first test drive. That way you have a ride home if somethings not right :) Great vid

Man that sound never gets old.
That is one well built engine shelf friend!
My best luck for exhaust bolts is the same. I don't use a impact and I let it cool for about a min before twisting them out.
Thx for the video im doing the same thing to my 82 GMC Jimmy this summer tired of farting with the old carborated small block and its tired.. good video
Thanks! Check out our newer video as well. It’s a bit more detailed.
Dood we need more vids like this.
Sounds really good buddy I'm trying to swap my 86 SS Monte Carlo with a 6.0
Sounds like a sick project. We are currently prepping a 6.0 for a swap into a 68 dart. Stay tuned for those videos soon.

Every person I've met with a forklift in their garage, knows how to get things done.

That flat fender jeep go kart is shweet
Solid hook up! Man I need you in Arizona. And ghetto? Bro that test start hook up was more like Doc on Back to the Future😂😄😂✌🏾
One of these days I would like to buy a square body and ls swap it. Use it for offroad and go to glamis and shit. Hope to do it soon.
Wish i had your garage lol very nice!
More info on what parts were used on the hydraulic clutch conversion?
Seems to run really good without a mass air on it.
Sketchyest Pllet rack ever. . . . , great swap vid
You make it look easy brother... I'm terrified to start my build
Welding a washer to the broken bolt works good.. can get a good weld on it.. then weld nut of your choice to the washer.
Nice job, really enjoyed the video. Are the exhaust manifolds tight against the frame? I have heard that manifolds from a Camaro tuck in closer to the engine.

How do you do the harness standalone? I would love to know I wanna do this swap on mine so badly! Love the video!!
Check out our other square body swap video (black dually). That one goes in to much greater detail in all aspects, including the harness.
now did you have to flash the computer to make it run to get rid of the security system

Can you do a video on the wiring you had to do
Where did you get the adapter plates for the motor mounts, and does the original trans bolt right up to that LS?
The trans will bolt up. LS/SBC bolt patterns are nearly identical. The LS has one additional bolt the SBC doesn't use.
Cameron Whitt They are 3 position adapter plates from amazon or ebay. The flywheel, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing will also be needed.
