The shackle flip on those add about 4", the best thing for ride quality is to use actual shocks instead of the lift shock that Rancho and Skyjacker sell, those are only dampeners, they destroy ride quality. Use the factory length shocks off the mid to late 90's Chevy truck, like off a 96, on the front, use the factory rear off of like a 1977 Chevy truck, I have always gone a step up and used either Gabriel or Monroe overload shocks with the extra coils, night and day difference in ride quality

Can you finger point who to listen to. I like this direction for when I stretch my frame. Thanks. Yours is looking really good. Thanks again, Fellow Crewby !!
Thanks for the video. I ordered my ORD shackle flip today. I got the 2.5" kit. What type of air chisel/hammer do you have? It popped those rivets off quick!
Yeah it wasn't cheap. We some times work on some big stuff and needed one with some power. If your having trouble cut the head of the rivet with a cutoff wheel into quarters and bust them off a piece at a time.
87 chevy squarebody crew cab 1 ton. Yes, I believe they are 56", I'll measure them tomorrow and confirm. Yes I have some videos on the front as well check out my channel. Thanks for watching
One question, if I use the shackle flip and it gives me 4" of lift and I put the super shackles that in the description says they measure 4.5", would that give me 8" of lift or would it still be 4"?
I don't know much about vans but check this out www.skysoffroaddesign.com/collections/92-97-f-250-350-rear-suspension/products/ford-rfk-004?variant=21594575108 Thanks for watching
Excuse my ignorance, but what prevents the leaf spring shackle from pivoting. Is it supposed to do that? I have an old datsun truck I want to lift a little bit and parts are non-existent, so you have to make your own. I want to make myself a pair of extended shackles, I just want to make sure I understand the workings of the suspension.
Yes the shackle does move. One end of a leaf spring needs to be able to move to allow the spring to flex. As a spring compress (flattens out) the distance between the 2 spring eyes must lengthen. As a spring droops the distance between the 2 springs eyes must shorten. The shackle is what allows this to happen. Thanks for watching and good luck on your project.
I can't really answer that for you. Since I cut 22 inches out of my frame I will be running new hardlines, but you should be to plumb into your existing hardline. Thanks for watching
Only that it will change pinion angle. There are so many variables, it is hard for them so say for certain how much and if you will need to address it. Thanks for watching
Glad you liked the video. No, I didn't measure how far it moved the axle. Offroad design claims it will move the axle about 1/2 inch forward. Thanks for watching
What's your plan for addressing the pinon angle? The shackle flip rotates the pinion up a bunch. I would recommend cutting the stock leaf perches off. They are junk anyways. Replace them with an aftermarket anti wrap perch. I like to use Ruffstuff's. I have used Barne's 4x4 also. This way you can weld them exactly at the correct pinion angle. Using an aftermarket perch will also let you get back the 1" of wheelbase you lose with a shackle flip. Since they usually have 3 different holes for adjusting wheelbase.
I'm not sure about my pinon angle yet. I cut 22 inches out of the frame, installed the shackle flip and I currently don't have any of my drive train mounted. So for those reasons I haven't worried about it yet. I'm sure I'll have to adjust when the time comes. I'll check out the perches you mentioned. Thanks for watching

Is this just to lift the truck? Bc I got this on my truck but I’m trying to go lower and I have a flip kit and a shackle flip with a stock shackles trying to go lower should I get the original shackles instead of the flip shackles?
Yes, the shackle flip is just lifting the truck. It is cheaper than new springs. If you want to go lower then you don't want to flip your shackles like I do in this video. If your shackles are already flipped then you could flip them back to the stock configuration and it will lower your truck. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching
