      As bob marley said its mental slavery, no one wants to realise why they do it they just act and reap the consequences after a shortlived benefit.

    I watched this live. Loved the whole conversation. I asked the question about the skin bleached actresses being pushed onto the screens of young girls. If they see someone who is uplifted and is booked for multiple movies. The young girls observe this and internalise by lightening my skin I can achieve that level of stardom or accolades. Another aspect being educating mothers and fathers to uplift their daughters.

      Sarah l thank you so much! And you are right we need to communicate and talk to the young girls and affirm their beauty. ❤️❤️❤️

    It surprised me to hear from Dr. Uju Rapu that lightening products contain corticosteriods to calm the skin from the damaging ingredients. How insidious...
    Thank you for posting this to your channel. It's important for us white people to hear the effects and extremely far reach of colonialism.

    I respect your wisdom. Skin lightening distances us from our ancestors and what we are made of.

    Jag är så tacksam för att min vita mamma varje dag talade om hur vacker jag är med min svarta hud.
    Har aldrig ens vetat om att det fans tills jag blev vuxen.

    I use spf50 (zinc and titanium oxide) and do not get any darker

    • @jallowlovette
      @jallowlovette  5 років тому +1

      GreenLover I use spf 70 and I still get darker when on holiday :) spf only determines how long you can stay in the sun before the rays reach the dermis of the skin not a block to not get dark even if you use spf 100

    • @greenbeauties
      @greenbeauties 5 років тому +1

      Lovette Jallow that’s right, I think the only reason I don’t get tanned is because I avoid staying in the sun for longer than 10 minutes and not that often either. Although I would love to get a nice tan i don’t want to further damage my skin by sitting in the sun and take vitamin D supplements instead. Have a great day xx

    I wish that unevolved man would understand that that thought is not even originally his but what he has been programmed to think! Way too many black men like this out there!

    I spend a lot of money to become who I want to be I have met people who had their skin bleached they were very rude about me to become black but is ok for the wanting to be white does matter what colour you are we all are human. now I am seen as a black person now and treated like one I lost a lot of right now and treat like a second citizen now more with Asians and the middle eastern the white people does but it still out there
    gets me is black people are racist with their colours of skin as a way yes from light skin to a dark skin I was told by my black friends now have said I have more Ethiopian appearance now
    I choose to be black as to the black history they should not be so judgemental they did have a lot of parts in the selling and slavery happen to they own people
