I'm assuming that the editing goofs are part of Alex's greater descent into madness. Tomorrow's episode will be a 5 hour loop of Scooby Doo impressions while sorting through Christmas items, and Halloween's episode will be Patrick naked at the hotel in the dark, animalistically eating about 200 pounds of Halloween candy from 1978 with Alex mysteriously nowhere to be found...

Someone may have already commented on this but the bias tape thingy is not a tape dispenser. It is a fabric store display stand for packages of bias tape. Bias tapes are long strips of fabric cut bias to the weave and folded. A person uses them for binding edges when sewing. The divisions in the stand were for the different colors and sizes of the bias tape.
I agree, I’ll be retiring in a couple of years and want to spend some of my newfound time purging closets, cupboards and cubbies. Then organizing what’s left so I don’t have to spend so much time trying to find things.
@TheOriginalMaxGForce My ex boyfriend was like this as well as his Father. You couldn’t walk in his father’s basement to do laundry without going sideways. Once I went through the bathroom vanity & through out all kinds of empty containers & just garbage at my boyfriend’s place & he went ballistic.

The randomness of the contents of the boxes reminds me of what's in boxes at estate auction sales. When auctioneers empty out a house they put a few good things in a box and then add miscellaneous items to get rid of them. So the bidder gets the collectibles they want plus alot of random filler. Maybe this homeowner was addicted to auctions and had garage sales to get rid of some of the excess. The family would probably know how the owner acquired all this stuff. I'm glad to see some of the good stuff finally.
Exactly. And that's why my mom dreaded Dad's occasional excursion to an auction. Way back when, he liked putting bids on "mystery boxes" when a store closed out or moved. This is why I have a shoe box full of 60-year-old embroidery cotton. Still good, but awfully slow to use up.
I'm thinking the reason why you're only finding empty jewelry boxes but no jewelry is because the first people in there scooped it all up, along with the guitars unless you bought them. It's odd there's no beds in there either along with the jewelry boxes.
I remember how fun it was for me as a kid to open that Planters peanuts can with the key attached to the bottom. So much nostalgia for me in these videos! Thanks for taking us along with you on this adventure.
Alex, congrats on hitting 500k subscribers! Every time you clear out a house, I go through my cabinets and rooms with a detached eye. The thrift stores thank you.
I was actually surprised at the size of the backside of the house. Now I'm even more amazed at the amount of "stuff" you have to go through! Thanks for another interesting chapter, loving this series ❤️ 👍
My theory is that the former owners were buying garage sales and just packing that day's findings into a box and stacking it. Hence the randomness. These were not all things from their own household.
Yes, they were Yard Salers. Collecting "treasure" and hoping to sell at their own yard sales. Alas, when you take in more than you can get rid of, you get a full house.
The owners made the right call to sell the content. They got good money for it and save themselves months of trouble and pain. This is really hard work and you need expert knowledge to be able to do it that quickly. Imagine googling each and every object to see if it's worth something. You would need years to finish.
There's a lot of confusion on my end because in the beginning there's a part from the previous video, then you get back to your bins of bottles and wondering how much they'll sell for and a few minutes later there's the footage of the bottles again! You're also searching for Patrick twice.

I'm pretty sure that red shaker you found (at 39:40.) and said is antique is actually from Avon's series of "Cape Cod" red dinnerware in the 1970's. I sold Avon then and it's at every estate auction in America. 🙂
The description of the bear but it was a boat had me rolling with laughter. You needed that too with all those boxes, boxes, boxes. Good luck Alex. You can do it .
I would've just taken down the blinds, opened the window, removed the screen, and passed all those flats of cans out the window. It's how we used to pass our groceries into our apartment. Our parking space was right near our kids' bedroom so every Costco trip we'd just open the window and remove the screen. A lot better than schlepping everything around the building to the back entrance to get to our door. Just a thought.

I continue to enjoy this deep dive into a full house. Very clever of you to test your fans by subtly inserting previously shown video into this episode. When more furniture is moved everything should go faster for you guys. Hope the furniture sells well.
It would be interesting to hear more of the back story of this house. It looks like it would have been impossible for anyone to sleep there. Was it possibly just used as a warehouse?
I believe the house belonged to a hoarder who either had to move out of the house or had passed away so Alex purchased the contents of the house from the owner of the property. Hoarders don't live like a typical person. There was food in the kitchen cabinets and meat in the freezer that had thawed so someone was actually living there in that mess within the past year.
Another great video. You are so funny, when you found the boomerang and joked about the return policy was made us laugh as well as other funny things you joked about. We are always entertained. Thank you.
Not a bug, 😂 a FEATURE! Imagine how tired you would be… clearing a household driving for hours, eating heavy restaurant good, then trying to edit a huge jumble of footage. A FEATURE I say! 😊
I think the editing at the beginning of this video shows just how tired Alex is. The first box was in the last video and parts shown twice, it is a little worrying and he still has to get all the good stuff back to Castners and sorted by December. Alex needs a big shed to sort in and take his time where Castners can then come in and auction from there to take the pressure off.
Love your stuff it always gives a real feel to the total confusion a hoarders house can be for example boxes that say one thing on the box but contain completely other stuff.
Alex! Always hold an old picture up to the light and see the light through it. People used to hide currency behind pictures and cover the back with fresh paper.
I see something new in every repeat scene so this is a fun ride for me. Such an interesting hoard. Paper ephemera is very interesting for junk journal creators.
Oh, Alex. You must have been exhausted when you edited this video. All is forgiven, still very enjoyable, thanks for the effort. I hope that you find a pirate's chest full of treasures. Hello to Patrick.
I just love it when you buy the whole content of a hoard and sort it in the house 🥰 They are my favorite videos! 1. Series are always interesting 2. There is so much to see! 3. I love stories, which is why I love hoards and abandoned houses! Antiques, collectables, personal items (things that tell something about a person) etc. 4. The satisfaction I get when you tackle and organize a MASSIVE amount of things with such ease and enthusiasm. I can't even get myself to organize my pens... 5. I KNEW you are a fellow ADHD! I always find it so much easier to watch other ADHD people's videos. You process things the same way. (unless you were only joking before about ADHD 😅) Thank you for another video! Can't wait to see more :)
I am so enjoying this series! I love to see old things, but it always amazes me that ppl can hoard like this and be comfortable in the place they live! It would make me anxious until it was cleaned up since I have ocd lol! Hey btw tell Patric that he is a very handsome man! Both of you are handsome but Alex has a gorgeous wife and kids who I adore! Y’all be safe and careful! We love you all!!!
Good morning Bravest Patrick and too happy Alex!! My oh my!! Never have l ever seen so much crap packed into boxes! My question is why would you pack up stuff like they have?? There just seems to be no rhyme or reason to their packing. Well done both of you guys! You are doing a stellar job!! One that l can understand why the other people were happy to off load to you Alex!!
Yeah, I think these folks wanted to be like you, Alex but they just didn’t have the wherewithal to get it done and it got away from them. Add in hoarding and this is the result. Smalls, aka garage sale items could have been their bread and butter for all the collectibles that take longer to sell. Of course they decided to do it all from home which obviously got the better of them. Still, they’re pretty good hoarders. The biggest thing you’re having to deal with is dust. It doesn’t even seem like there’s a lot of breakage, or mold. You can’t see the floor because of boxes not because everything is everywhere. One wonders if they’d have had as much trouble selling off the good stuff if someone could have helped them? At least to me their mentality seems considerably different than the hoarders we’ve seen and you’ve shown us. I even think the bottles and cans were and effort to save until they became collectible. I’m betting in their day they had great garage sales. It’d be neat to find out if the guy who talked to you knows about the sales. I wonder if they ever cataloged all their stuff? Probably not.
Beer can stack - Good to move it all on to a collector. Did you consider opening the window and passing them out to Patrick, to make unloading the back easier! Got to think outside the Box, or in this case, outside the Boxes of Beer Cans. LOL

I continue to enjoy this deep dive into a full house. Very clever of you to test your fans by subtly inserting previously shown video into this episode.
When more furniture is moved everything should go faster for you guys. Hope the furniture sells well.
Patrick has a nice beard. Well trimmed, goes nicely with his whole face.
Looking good, Patrick.
It would be interesting to hear more of the back story of this house. It looks like it would have been impossible for anyone to sleep there. Was it possibly just used as a warehouse?
Alex only found one bed and that was after digging through boxes that were on it. It has def been a warehouse for quite a while.
Yeah it's all storage. No signs of day-to-day living in there
I believe the house belonged to a hoarder who either had to move out of the house or had passed away so Alex purchased the contents of the house from the owner of the property. Hoarders don't live like a typical person. There was food in the kitchen cabinets and meat in the freezer that had thawed so someone was actually living there in that mess within the past year.
Totally thought that was a "demon bear" too at first!!! eeks. Too funny!
if those where the blueprints for the house, you could check for hidden rooms filled with things. Or at least see how big the attic is.
Another great video. You are so funny, when you found the boomerang and joked about the return policy was made us laugh as well as other funny things you joked about. We are always entertained. Thank you.
This is a huge endeavor. But you are the man for this job + Patrick. It's amazing to watch.
My goodness, Alex !! Soooooo MUCH STUFF!! Thanks for sharing this with us! 💜💙💜
Wow! So much stuff…you should do well in sales, but holy moly your work is endless!
Not a bug, 😂 a FEATURE! Imagine how tired you would be… clearing a household driving for hours, eating heavy restaurant good, then trying to edit a huge jumble of footage.
A FEATURE I say! 😊
Right - I thought it was halloween groundhog day lulling us into a false sense of security before Patrick makes a ghostly appearance :)
Or Alex just wanted to check if we are paying attention 😉
Agreed! It’s was weird, but sorta cute.
@@victoriabyrne4303 Every time Alex would say "where is Patrick?" I expected to see Patrick come around the corner with a sheet over his head!😂
You and your dad jokes! Also love how pure you are and considerate of others.
😆😆Alex, your surmizations crack me up 🤣
I can see Melissa's eyes rolling at a couple of points as she watches this video🤣🤣
I am absolutely loving that you are doing another house clear out ! ❤!
Love your stuff it always gives a real feel to the total confusion a hoarders house can be for example boxes that say one thing on the box but contain completely other stuff.
The ability to sort that stuff is mind boggling. I'd have paralysis by analysis.
Yay...more Hoarder House!! I can feel MY adrenaline pumping here in NYC!!
1. Series are always interesting
(unless you were only joking before about ADHD 😅)
Thank you for another video!
Yes, be safe around the "cougars" Patrick!😆
@@JeanStAubin-nl9uo funny 😁
Loving this series Alex! It looks like complete organised chaos at the moment😂 I’m desperate to see the first room cleared 😂
“Still haven’t found the kid that lived here…….” That got my attention 😂
WOW! So interesting and fun to go thru the boxes with you. So many surprises. Love your wit
Obsessed with this series!
Thanks for sharing your journey. It is quite overwhelming, I can only imagine. Take care!
I just had to check I was watching a new episode. At least we got a second very quick glimpse of Patrick wearing the Elvis aviator glasses.
Yes!!!! I was waiting for Patrick to come out covered by a white sheet when Alex couldn't find him🤣
👍👍👍after a long hard day at work it feels good to laugh with you thanks
Hm, didn't you show the soapstone figures yesterday? 🤔Lol, you are tired, bless you! 🙏❤️ But this is great never the less! 🥰🥰🥳
You do make me laugh! Great video 😊😊😊😊😊
Weber Castel Alphacolor tin. Another item to add to my vintage and antique art supply collection.
A Tonette! I had to learn to play that when I was in elementary school. That was 60 years ago ! A blast from the past for sure!!
Have enjoyed every episode of this venture! So grateful to be taken along!
You are hilarious today! Thanks for the laughs.
I love watching you guys search through this home. I hope you get more than your moneys worth. I hope the furniture goes for good money 😊
I remember visiting Victoria, and shopping at Eatons. They had a Cafe. With a Smorgasbord. Quite a treat.
You can tell when Alex is tired, he screws up .. But that ok he's doing good things
Beer can stack - Good to move it all on to a collector. Did you consider opening the window and passing them out to Patrick, to make unloading the back easier! Got to think outside the Box, or in this case, outside the Boxes of Beer Cans. LOL
Recycling the Bottles for cash was a great move and a terrific way to deal with a problem. Anything that pays for lunch is good.
