The fun and positivity is priceless in these challenging times. Love your work. Hope it all pays off in spades eh? ;)
I'm blown away by the amount of comments telling Alex he needs to check pockets and purses, like he hasn't already thought of that. When did Mark and Paul become thieves? All you folks expressing your concern need to take a chill pill and freakin relax, Alex has done this before, he's a smart guy.
It’ll probably be a while before anything makes it to his esty shop. Would love to see so many of those pieces!! Some of the wool coats they showed were absolutely gorgeous colors.
I want to know how much money this woman spent on furs, clothing and jewelry... would be breathtaking number. Over 10,000,000 million in today’s dollars??? Anyone got a guess ?
If all the clothes and women's shoes r small sizes it will probably take a very long time to sell. People r a lot bigger nowadays then they were back then.
@@momsterous looking at Mark's store he isn't selling clothing and purse, wallet combos, he's selling each item individually so matching isn't really relevant here.
people post about antihistamines, using a go-pro and masks to Alex all the time. He is doing his own thing and none of these things have changed yet. He has his own way to do it.
Alex, Please invest in a couple of portable hepa air filters if you continue reorganizing these house. Enjoying the show. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
It seems that the people who lived there were so talented and had so many varied interests and hobbies! The lady had designated areas for each type of activity. I'm sure she was enthusiastically persueing her interests until such time as it all became overwhelming. All the paintings, the crewelwork, the macrame, the sewing are evidence of some very creative and interesting people! I hope once you make sense of this massive collection the talent will be recognized.
I've been watching the entire series and I just cannot fathom the quantity of clothing in this house. She must have never worn anything twice. Just wow!!
My grandma was a pretty major hoarder of bed sheets and linens. Not house-filling or anything, but pretty much every cabinet in her house was jam-packed with linens when she died. I think she only ever used the same two sets of anything, but she’d just keep on forgetting that she already had them when she bought more. Or maybe she thought they’d be nice to have around when her grandchildren came to visit and stay over (even though she lived just down the street from us and there weren’t any other cousins who would ever be staying with her). It’s hard to tell what’s actually happening in peoples’ lives and we can only speculate based on what’s left behind.
Alex did these people have professions? How did they pay for all these collectables? I'm in ah they must have been super talented people. I wonder what went wrong.
My thoughts exactly! The lady and her husband must have been multi-millionaires! The husband spent his money on his "toys", sorry tools and she on clothes. I am still in awe at the amount of female clothing going etc!
Talk about memories! That little hideaway under the stairs is almost identical to what my grandparents set up for us kids back in the 60's to play in. It had little shelves and a curtain over it. We had a little sitting area and some toys. It really triggered that memory I haven't thought about for decades. We still played in it as Teens .. just didn't fit as well anymore ♥
Before my 4 siblings and I migrated to 🇺🇸, we were told that there’s a closetful of toys waiting for us. It was very hard to imagine to have such a thing because one ☝🏼 toy is a luxury, but, a closetful? Alas, when we arrived, there it was, a closetful of toys under the steps! It’s sad to think about the commercialism now, but, it was happy times then!
I bought a house from the 50's a year ago and it only had one owner. Under the stairs is exactly like that. I had to clean out so much stuff and still have a bunch in the attic to take care of. Feel like I'm living in the past right now. Slowly bringing the house up to date.
After watching this, I feel a deep need to purge my house, garage and more before I'm no longer able! This accumulation is epic! I'd like to know the rest of her story! I had the exact garment bag pattern as my 70's wallpaper choice.
I always have the same response when watching his hoarder house videos. It's so sad. I can't imagine how it got that way or even if she lived in the house at the end. It seems there would have been no room for her. 😪
Yep....watching these videos has made my mind tick over about her as well - evidently well off.....but lived in a modest house. Traveled heaps, bought heaps, skilled musician....then there's all those tools and uncut stones. I be theres a damn interesting life behind it all.
It appears she was either a fashion designer or in the fashion industry. What an amazing find! The 10K price on all those vintage clothes and furs was a steal. I wish!
What does it mean when I tell you that every time this old lady gets up in the night she checks to see if Alex has posted another video!!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and stay healthy.
I'm telling you... Your not the only lady... 😜🙄😏 (I'm in Europe and several mornings its have been a video uploaded when I woke up in the morning. Not today. I have watched old episodes from earlier this week and also episodes from last summer and tried to figure out if the lady who i though she was. I'm 99.9% sure I'm right.🤫
The fashionable lady must be the world's most interesting woman. Besides the coutre and musical instruments, you found sewing/tailoring equipment, archery/firearms supplies, stone cutting tools, drafting supplies, craft/art supplies, travel brochures/souvenirs, children's toys, the queen's stole, woodworking tools, and more. You know, Alex, I was just sitting here praying for you and your family and thinking about you. I was trying to count up all the lives you've changed, some in a very dramatic way. I want to express my admiration and thanks for being the kind of person we all should emulate!
Yes! Agreed. What you did for Mary is so amazing. She passed away as Mary the artist. If it wasn’t for you she would’ve died Mary the hoarder. Amazing gift you gave her and all of us really.
It has been mentioned that the clothes are primarily small sizes...and that's the toughest size to sell. It's one thing to process, store and sell what he might have found in one closet full of small sized clothing...and quite another to store, process, list, and then eventually find homes 50,000 units of smalls.
@@RealLickDoo I think he will have to sell at least some of that stuff in lots. Maybe fill a container and ship them off to Japan, China, Vietnam and other places where that size is much more saleable. Still...a lot of processing and labor.
What a relief to see all of those clothes gone. I was so thrilled to see a bag of Dinky toys for Alex, and a planned dinner with mom. What a role model Alex is - a fine man.
This reminds me of an item I saw years ago in a magazine. The writer as a child would sometimes stay with an eccentric aunt, who had a room dedicated to storage of things, including one box clearly labeled " Bits of string and other things not worth keeping"
When I moved I had a box called "drawers." I just dumped all the junk drawers into it instead of wasting time going through it all. When I got here, I sorted it all out.
Omg Mark PLEASE, PLEASSSSEEEEE Show us the clothes❗️❗️❗️❗️ I REALLY REALLY REALLLYYYYY want to see ALL of those vintage clothes. I would literally watch him show every single piece of clothing one by one. Ugh, I’m dying to see the clothes 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️

Someone commented about this before. Consider the amount of time labor and storage to deal with all that stuff. Let alone taking the pics and posting. He doesn’t have a clothing store-he takes stuff to auction or sells things in his store front.

Hoping Mark gives Alexander a “bonus” for getting the deal of the century. I know I would feel guilty if I got all that furry gold and vintage so cheaply.
Alex had a chance to look over the inventory of clothes, his quick decision to sell fast was his decision. He could have said all clothes, shoes, but no purses, or everything except coats.
It is an unusual situation. He was there to tell him how much he could be sitting on, give him an estimate. And Alex didnt realize how much stuff was there due to he couldnt get to it. He could have not included the basement. But he probably thought that was a given since he didnt expect there to be nice things down there. But it is a good lesson to learn. never sell yourself short and dont assume. I know he wanted someone to get it out due to he could not do it all but still hiring someone is cheap enough, young kids. He saw some value and probably went ape sh(* and said I'll take it, instead of you are sitting on over a million dollars worth of clothes if they had gone through it better. I hope Alex does well at the auction.and he may have to keep buying old house lot as he is going to have quite a following. Just get a respirator or head thing to cover face
Remember, most of the clothing sizes are small. Not as easy to sell. There is the cost of sorting, cleaning and putting them up on Etsy to sell. It should be easier for Alex to make money than Mark, unless Mark flips some clothes to another dealer.
Here is an idea. Contact the area university (U of Alberta) Arts & Design department, clothing & textiles. I would think one or more graduate students may be interested in the clothing to document for a program thesis or study. The quantity and quality of the clothing may be unlikely or impossible to ever find as a group like this again. This could become a named collection and inflating the prices and customer pool greatly if documented and items identified in this way. May be far worth it vs the holding cost with time, effort, and $$$$
I was thinking the same thing. This is a rare treasure! This trove was a high-end time capsule of what-to-wear through multiple eras! A student could have written a thesis on these finds. It would have been interesting to document all the pieces and add a price tag to them. Madame Rac spent MILLIONS on clothing and jewelry!
Hi Alex, Melissa, I don't know if you'll see this but I just wanted to say I think you were absolutely right to let the clothing go to Mark. I'm sure you know the feeling in your heart when something is meant for you, and you also know that if the universe wants to reward you it won't be with something that is more of a burden and worry than a blessing for you. If you are destined for something good, it'll be something you can take advantage of comfortably, and I personally believe even if you accidentally give away something of value that's meant for you, the universe (or God, if you so believe) will conspire to bring you something else to make up that loss. It's like entropy, everything naturally tends towards fairness and evening out. Stay blessed and don't let others comments get to you 👍
C'mon, hoarded house! You've gotta have at least one crusty old oil can that will put a smile on Alex's face after a long and dusty day. Make me proud, hoarded house!
she may have hoarded, but she was a very well organized hoarder. Looks like Alex is becoming overwhelmed with all of the clothes coming out. He even said millions of dollars back then of minks and furs. Too bad he did not look at the inventory before he closed the deal on the clothes.
@@bm0078I bought an unlabelled full length mink coat two summers ago at a vintage shop for $90. There was a labelled/verified mink beside it, that wasn’t half the coat, a mid-calf swing, going for $600. It might be unlabelled but when you can feel the individual pelts and you can only pet it in one direction, you know a fur when you find one. I got a steal of a deal. Furs are the warmest things you’ll ever wear, water resistant too!🥰
I am nominating myself for spouse of the year because these videos drop before I go to sleep every night, and yet I wait until my husband takes lunch so we can watch together.
I had those exact flower storage boxes back in the late 70’s. I tripped when I saw them an episode or so ago. Wish my sister was still alive to watch these with me.
In the spirit of giving, I still think it would be kind of Mark, the vintage clothing dealer to give you an additional $5000 - $10,000. From what you showed of the just the high-end coats, he could make back his original investment with the sale of just 25 - 30 coats of the best coats. All the purses, vintage clothing, hats, etc. are just gravy at this point.
I have loved this series so much. I’m a new subscriber but I am very much now a regular. I was so blessed by the videos of Hans and the house situation. Thank you for a REAL channel that isn’t fake. God bless you and your family and all of the viewers. This has been my newest binge channel but also a favorite. This lady’s life is being revealed through the clean out. It’s really neat to take the time capsule apart and see her life through her items and house history.
If you haven't watched his series of The Potters House, I think you will really like it. There must be so few people with Alex's resources and connections in Alberta, he really is a blessing!
Ok thank you! I am about to watch it. God bless you. I just love how honest Alex is and that he is legitimately a good hearted person. I have enjoyed it so much and it’s inspiring to keep paying it forward
Welcome to the Curiousity team 🙂 Be sure to put ALL of the videos in order including live and updates before you get too far into the Potters House series- tons of info and context in them, and the story is so much fuller and more interesting (including finding his sister in the midst of it all!) when you watch all the bits in order. Adam's story with the Bambi print from a few months before then is wonderful too, and many updates include info on him over about 2 years. Have fun! This is a great way to realize there still is good in this world, and people who are worth knowing and caring about...
Everybody in here commenting on the clothing...Alex sold it all and got his initial investment back before even starting to clear the house...to me it's one less headache to deal with, imagine the expense of sorting, cleaning and storing everything...sure Mark will make some money on it but it's definitely gonna take awhile...most are petite sizes, it's not like there's a huge customer base for those sizes...he'll have most of that stuff for a long time...yes there's profit in it, but how long will it take for Mark to see it after all the processing costs ? Alex made a good deal in my opinion
It will certainly take while to sort and clear the inventory, but don't overlook the overseas markets. There are plenty of countries where those smaller sizes are far more average.
I appreciate this comment. It has been bothering me to see all that profit go to someone besides Alex. After your thoughtful comment, though, I'm beginning to see the point that Alex would have been in way over what he usually likes to put into these 'adventures'. It makes it easier for me to watch. Sincerely, thank you.

Yeah good on you Alex for getting new videos up almost daily. Especially at this time of year. I enjoy watching these. Hello all the way from the Isle Of Wight England 👋
When we first met Mark, he didn't seem too impressed and maybe a little taken advantage of. But now he is all smiles because he purchased a million dollars worth of clothes for ten grand. But Alex, you haven't even started and I foresee you making $30,000. And that's net!
Watching clean outs of horder homes really helps me to let go of stuff. I don't ever want my home to be like that when I'm too old to do anything about it.
I so agree. My brother and I ad to sort through our mom's apt when she went into a nursing home. Every time we left...things multiplied! We found 85 cans of soup, 60 rolls of paper towels, etc. I'll never leave the same thing for my brother to sort through when I'm gone.
He will be able to sell much of it individually for more than jar prices. I doubt he wants to cheat himself the same way he cheated himself by selling all of those clothes/furs too cheaply.
At least a million in vintage clothing, shoes, bags and furs in Australia. What a steal the clothing guy got. He will do better with the clothing that all the rest put together.
It would be great to get a rundown at the end of this of exactly how many of everything you pulled out of here: This many fur coats, this many pairs of shoes, this many pounds of garbage etc, as well as some favourite finds. It's obvious there are tons, but there's so much it's hard to get a real sense of the scale of it all!
I keep thinking about all the stuff of my mom's i threw out due to the nicotine smell. She was an epic sewer. She gave away most of her sewing stuff in the years before she died. The zig zag parts took me back to her sewing so many clothes. I need to know this woman's story! So many clothes... she had to be doing modeling/runway shows. So amazing.
Yup - 70's. Chunk heels, the higher the better. Nothing like almost walking on tiptoes in shoes. Painful if standing too long. 1975 Prom I wore the highest shoes I could buy because my prom dress was too long. Brings back memories of foot pain - all for fashion.
I fell off those platform shoes in the 70s. I also had a rear-ender accident because my right shoe got wedged between the gas and brake pedals. No way to stop. Boy was that guy angry with me.
I agree too us fashionable girls know our decades. I had white vinyl boots with platforms and black platform shoes with a heart motif. I remember going to a party and a boy I fancied asked me for a kiss under the mistletoe but said I had to take my platform shoes off first. Couldn't get them off fast enough!😎🦊🤩
Damian Morrison I bought a scooba doo doll a little over ten years ago and I payed $200. For her. Her voice box was still in good working order. I don't know the value now, if it would be more or less. But at the time I really wanted her. Now I'm kinda over it and wish I had $200.00.
Yes he's looking in trunks when alex wants to look in them but if you notice he never digs to the bottom and shuts it quickly. I get a weird vibe from him too I could go on and on. I feel so bad for Alex Paul is not funny at all
T s .....the contents of the house may be worth more than the house itself LOL........personally i believe some of the quality vintage designer clothing may end up in museums.
I love this channel and I love what these folks do for others, so I decided to let all the ads run to help them make a little bit of money on their videos. Others may be interested in doing so too. Merry Christmas to all!
Yes. Mary was a true hoarder. This woman was organized. It just probably got to be too much and she was no longer able to handle the shear volume. She had a plan, but the years got away from her.
I doubt very seriously if he ever shows the amount of priceless clothing & furs, shoes, handbags, ETC, he loaded out of that house. He’s keeping too mum, but I bet his heart is pounding with every arm load!!
Alex, I made a comment in episode 7 regarding throwing away tin canned items. Please check any future tins as they may be stashes of valuables inside. There are "Decoy Safe Cans" that people use to safeguard cash and valuables. Also sometimes people stash cash and valuables in what may appear as rotten food containers in the fridge or freezer. I once found a fridge with such items inside. What a great place to conceal valuables inside, when people look inside and are disgusted at what is in fridge, sometimes containers are not rotted food but valuables hidden inside.
@Cindy Quinzy The clues are there... I can perfectly understand Alexander getting overwhelmed by the sheer density of product but he could have slowed down a little, he intended the living room to be the sorting room and I don't see any sorting going on. 7 weeks left there is plenty of time.
@@barbaralong1642 i think so. Someone mentioned that in a comment in another video. I'm not saying this lady had a lot of trash because just about everthing i've seen has value. It might not be but a nickle but it has value, but damn she kept everything. I bet half of those clothes hadn't even been worn. I think it was bought and just put in storage. Someone's going to make a killing off of those clothes. Those furs and things, if you guys or the guys buying it by the bulk put it on the Web, they'd sell in no time. If I were you, i'd go through all of those clothes boxes. You've found money in just about every place in the house. What makes you think she wouldn't put more precious metals in those boxes and the clothes. You seem like you've hit a jackpot with this one.
I thought the same thing. Obviously, these people knew what they had was valuable and took good care of it. But the way it's packed and the way they built that room in the basement just for clothes and furs tells me they were clearing out a much larger house and packed it up and brought it there before things got out of hand.

Hi Alex! That tool you were wondering about in the basement, looks like an 8" length of 2x2 of wood or white plastic, with an angled slot running down it's length... It's a guitar repair tool called a Fret Bevelling File. It's supposed to hold a piece of mill file at about 35 degrees. You could cut a mill file to size, bevel the edges and glue it in. Save that for when you work on your guitars. I can explain further via private message. Message me.
It's always hard to know. Everyone just makes their best guess with what they know at the time. But it would make me feel good if Mark shared back some of the clothes profits not just to Alex, but also the new owners. Yeah, it's gonna take a long time to sell it all, but how could there not be $100,000 in just furs?
@@josephcote6120 but in all fairness the guy was suppose to help Alex and let him know if any of it was valuable and how valuable but he decided it was so valuable he would just buy it. I would have like Alex are you sure I can have all this stuff, the queen of England item lambs coats etc. Antique dealers always keep a straight face.
I know, imagine all the trip bringing that stuff into the home. Must have been everyday for years. No one could go enough places to wear it all. We forget our shoes will last us another 20 years.
Just imagine the work that will be involved in selling those clothes-first, having enough room to hang them up, organize and sort them, and then listing them, photographing them, packing and shipping-it will take him years to deal with them-and they are all one small size, too. I really don't think he is going to rake in the tons of money some here are imagining.
@Colleen De koning I also feel most of these items will end up in Japan or elsewhere in Asia (I'm not sure if Koreans and Chinese share the Japanese interest in vintage clothing.)

It never ceases to amaze me how much you get done so FAST. And then you go home sick (because you take on the dust bunnies) and still take time to edit and post a video for us!Thank you for being amazing! I hope your family still gets to see you sometimes! You know what would be really awesome? If they took a picture of the clothes in each box after they put them together as the outfit she originally intended them to be. You could probably make a bestseller fashion photography book that way.
In my mother's basement, she had a suspended ceiling with acoustic tiles. After a break in, I got worried and hid her valuable jewelry up above one of the tiles and made a small mark so I could find it, or direct others to the right spot.

i don't think anyone in the world ever owned more clothes than this lady
I wish to read her biography

It seems that the people who lived there were so talented and had so many varied interests and hobbies! The lady had designated areas for each type of activity. I'm sure she was enthusiastically persueing her interests until such time as it all became overwhelming. All the paintings, the crewelwork, the macrame, the sewing are evidence of some very creative and interesting people! I hope once you make sense of this massive collection the talent will be recognized.
Agree, sad to watch what happens when a person doesn't have an advocate........ Yuck yuck love the puns....
I've been watching the entire series and I just cannot fathom the quantity of clothing in this house. She must have never worn anything twice. Just wow!!
That exact thought has gone through my head every time I see an episode!!! 😲😲😵
That clothing in the basement will sell for 250.000 - 300.000 easy
Alex did these people have professions? How did they pay for all these collectables? I'm in ah they must have been super talented people. I wonder what went wrong.
My thoughts exactly! The lady and her husband must have been multi-millionaires! The husband spent his money on his "toys", sorry tools and she on clothes. I am still in awe at the amount of female clothing going etc!
Alex, you were supposed to wait for Josh to go through the tools!

I had a roll of Mactac in that pattern to line my cupboards in my 1st home.
I’m with you on feeling a need to purge, and I don’t really collect anything. Just that sense of being surrounded by stuff is kinda creeping me out.

The current homeowner greatly undervalued the home's contents, too. It's really a shame for both that person and Alex.
@@barbfrank917 Paul May have seen the furs and not told Alex, and taken a cut from Mark.

Yup - 70's. Chunk heels, the higher the better. Nothing like almost walking on tiptoes in shoes. Painful if standing too long.
1975 Prom I wore the highest shoes I could buy because my prom dress was too long. Brings back memories of foot pain - all for fashion.
Definitely '70s...
THAT'S WORTH A LOT OF MONEY that beatnik doll they are highly collectable
Damian Morrison I bought a scooba doo doll a little over ten years ago and I payed $200. For her. Her voice box was still in good working order. I don't know the value now, if it would be more or less. But at the time I really wanted her. Now I'm kinda over it and wish I had $200.00.
This series is like crack. I think...from what I've seen in documentaries. I just can not wait for part 10!
hysterical
No more waiting for weeks between Hoarder's episodes! I like this new "blitz" approach! Appreciate you sharing this aspect of your life, Alex.
Blitz approach, 🤣🤣
I really hope Paul stays around after this endeavor is over! Also, super happy that you found your Dinky toys ☺️
Yeah, Paul is cool. Seems like a perfect fit for Curiosity Nation.
@@nancymontgomery8897 I love the whole Curiosity gang, but I’m sad to say I get a weird gut feeling about Paul. Hope I’m wrong.
He gets on my last nerve. Usually FF through him actually.
Yes he's looking in trunks when alex wants to look in them but if you notice he never digs to the bottom and shuts it quickly. I get a weird vibe from him too
I could go on and on. I feel so bad for Alex
Paul is not funny at all
I'm still impressed at how much storage spaces this house has. Built in and not.
everyone totally scored on this house. Amazing how much quality items were just squirreled away.
Looks to be a cool little house underneath the hoard.
T s
.....the contents of the house may be worth more than the house itself LOL........personally i believe some of the quality vintage designer clothing may end up in museums.
I love this channel and I love what these folks do for others, so I decided to let all the ads run to help them make a little bit of money on their videos. Others may be interested in doing so too. Merry Christmas to all!
Me too!!
Me as well!
It does help them 💗 you're so sweet!
Yes, I read the comments as the ads run.
@@JerieAnneCrafts me too ✋
Those sewing machine accessories are really sought after. Sewing machines built today are nothing like those wonderful vintage pieces of machinery.
The blue faced lady figure on the shelf at 11:00 reminds me of the Tretchikoff paintings. That tray/ sculpture beside it looks like a cool one too!
One thing I can say is that this house is much more organized that the Potter house for sure.
Yea yo just get a vibe about some people
Alex, I made a comment in episode 7 regarding throwing away tin canned items.
I would have run a metal detector over every garment before it left the building, who knows what could have been sewn into clothing to hide it.
@Cindy Quinzy The clues are there... I can perfectly understand Alexander getting overwhelmed by the sheer density of product but he could have slowed down a little, he intended the living room to be the sorting room and I don't see any sorting going on. 7 weeks left there is plenty of time.
My Mom used to hide cash in an empty box of Green Giant frozen corn!
I know a guy who hides his weed this way
I would love to know more about this lady. She seems to have led a very interesting life!
Agreed. Wish we had her name so we could Google her!
I wonder if anything is on the internet about her or her husband and the fur inventory.
It was mentioned in the live feed that at the end we would know more about who she was.
The lady he purchased the Cadillac from?
@@barbaralong1642 i think so. Someone mentioned that in a comment in another video. Another comment mentioned that she was a ‘ballerina’ and ‘piano teacher’, so i googled both with ‘Alberta’, and found an article with her name and a picture of her at the piano. Also, husband’s initials were ‘JAC’ which I’ve seen on many of the paintings in the house.
I just came across you channel and have been watching all the videos. Right now I am watching the Hans play list and my heart feels so warm and proud to know I am a Canadian and like most Canadians we will help our fellow man out. Watching Hans finding out he was given a $2000 donation brought tears of happiness to me and I know Hans was very close to tears. Alex you are an amazing Canadian along with your beautiful family. This is coming from Ottawa, Ontario
I wish you had set up a more secure arrangement with Mark 😥 ...he doesn’t say much ...but he’s laughing! 😩 you are way too trusting Alex. Let’s hope he shares some of the profit with you. Thank you for working so hard to keep us entertained 🥰
Mark is the one that he actually sold all the clothing to. Paul is Alex's friend.
missy cat oh yes my mistake 🤪
I sure would like to see what's in this lady's safety deposit box. All the jewelry to those empty boxes would be a good guess.
Yep, contact the movie industry. Most actresses could fit small. Period movies👍
The most 'organised' disaster I've ever seen.
Well put!
HAHAHAHAH 🤣
I Think that's because it went 'KA BOOM' in slow motion 😁
I thought the same thing. Obviously, these people knew what they had was valuable and took good care of it. But the way it's packed and the way they built that room in the basement just for clothes and furs tells me they were clearing out a much larger house and packed it up and brought it there before things got out of hand.
@@OldLadyInFL Yes, I think it's a consolidation of a previous house/generation. Her father was a tailor.
Can't see the Fur-rest for the fleece! Oh the dad jokes are on point today!
All the wonderful clothes aside, I am *loving* those retro floral clothing bags. And all the gorgeous packaging!
There wasn’t even room for a mouse to live down there
I don't know.. I see mouse poop
Alex, this is a Sewing machine Guy(in edmonton) that repairs and restores old machines, he may be interested in the old machines and parts.. PHD Sewing
I'll have to remember that for when we can visit Edmonton again, I can't find anyone in the Kootenays willing to touch vintage machines...thanks!
Message me.
I'm so relieved alex has found some things for himself. Was feeling he'd given everything away to Mark
I know. I hope Mark decides to be generous and give ALEX a small cut of profits, from all the furs.
@@jmc-xp6ml Alex could have said sorry this other stuff is a no go but he probably didnt want to be that guy
@@josephcote6120 but in all fairness the guy was suppose to help Alex and let him know if any of it was valuable and how valuable but he decided it was so valuable he would just buy it. The other guy said yeah lucky if we can find 2 of the same snake skin boots. I would have like Alex are you sure I can have all this stuff, the queen of England item lambs coats etc. Antique dealers always keep a straight face.
I'm so blessed to be a minimalist, it's fun watching...
I know, imagine all the trip bringing that stuff into the home. Must have been everyday for years. No one could go enough places to wear it all. We forget our shoes will last us another 20 years.
I wonder if they had a shop of some kind, especially with a lot of tools and sewing stuff🤔
I'll be fine to store up my treasures for heaven...
S
"Blessed" lmfao ok no one's giving you a medal buddy
Just imagine the work that will be involved in selling those clothes-first, having enough room to hang them up, organize and sort them, and then listing them, photographing them, packing and shipping-it will take him years to deal with them-and they are all one small size, too. I really don't think he is going to rake in the tons of money some here are imagining.
unless he wants quick money. then he can unload some for fast cash. it is a lot of work no matter where you buy them
@Colleen De koning I also feel most of these items will end up in Japan or elsewhere in Asia (I'm not sure if Koreans and Chinese share the Japanese interest in vintage clothing.)
he will probably have to wholesale to other sellers too! i bet storing all that needs an entire warehouse!!
OMG I was so involved in watching this clean out that I actually put my finger on my phone so I could help you open the bag with the airplane clock in it 😊😊
Lol
🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It never ceases to amaze me how much you get done so FAST. I would probably still be looking at the first magazine I picked up, avoiding eye contact with the dust bunnies, and here you've got the place nearly empty already. And then you go home sick (because you take on the dust bunnies) and still take time to edit and post a video for us!Thank you for being amazing! I hope your family still gets to see you sometimes! Merry Christmas!
Alex is amazing with his ability to multi-task. High energy person for sure.
Metal detector!!!!!!!
Make a treasure map or a game out of so if something happens and no one is there can speak where the stuff is hidden they will be able to find it
THAT'S WHAT SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES ARE FOR!!!!
@@patmccccc wow great idea
