An elderly woman who lives in my town fell and broke her arm and hip. While she was in surgery, her niece contacted me to see if I could help her out by cleaning up her house while she was gone. ABSOLUTELY, I will!

I clean for a living , I started for a 90 year old who hadn't cleaned in 15 years since his wife died. Took me awhile but now can go once a month ( his request limited income) and keep it in good order. Floors were the worst I ever cleaned. Once I got his trust we replaced things that were just a mess. He Misses his wife and never thought he would live this long. He is very interesting and I keep him entertained while I'm there. Myself and the lawn guy and instacart are the only people who he sees. No children so he's stuck. It's very satisfying to clean for people who really need help.

I had an unexpected hospital stay in Feb followed by almost 3 weeks in rehab facility & I contracted Covid! The day after I came home both my grown sons were cleaning my apt. Fridge had been done already. They even did my bed linen & vacuumed. I came home on oxygen & so weak I couldn't have done any of that. I couldn't have made it without my boys. They took turns staying with me until Home Health started. I'm so grateful.

you obviously brought them up to be good lads.. and they are just looking after their Mother whom they respect and love. I hope you are healing well. I live alone. no children.. and have cancer. I struggled as I hae mobility and other issues, before I went into hospital and got some of it done so I came home to a reasonable clean and tidy house.. It nearly finished me off. Glad you have such nice boys.

I’m not sure about your spin mop or your little broom, those don’t really serve you well. 😱I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of your incredibly amusing videos. Hang in there, good people !
I've had to deal with depression almost all my life.
Remember, This, too shall pass. Every Night that you turn off the light instead of turning off your Life, you win. You are Victorious.
      Treasure the remissions.
      Refuse to beat yourself up.
Give yourself a break and take a day off sometimes.
      Celebrate small victories.
Remind yourself that depression is like having a severe case of FLU.
      Mental and Emotional FLU.
It's just as debilitating, and most people won't understand.
      Forgive them and carry on.
Trust God and ask Him to help. He will.
      Jesus understands.
      Read Hebrews 4:15.
And Matthew 26:38. In the garden of the mount of Olives, He told His disciples, "My Soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death."
But God pulled Him through, and He will be there for you and me.
If you wash a dish, good for you.
If you sweep the floor, Hooray!
If you fold a few clothes, 💪 you are strong.
      Keep facing forward.
Through Christ, we are more than Conquerors.
      God Bless and Keep you.

I liked the way you handled the situation. It didn’t look easy to me. Just one question- wouldn’t using a good vacuum cleaner be better than the brush you used? That house needs a good thorough vacuuming and heavy duty mopping, especially with the urine odor.

And thank you for what you are doing for everyone you help. Acts 20:35 says by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of our lord Jesus, when he himself said: " There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving".
And you do seem like a happy fellow. I adore how you are silly and funny yet teach us cleaning skills while you work so hard to help others.
    Thank you again

I am a neat freak-my house could usually be ready for a drop in guest with less than five minutes notice. If it's not clean and uncluttered, it literally makes me anxious. If I were disabled and couldn't clean, someone doing this for me would be a true Godsend. What a gift you gave her!

Me too. I’m 63 and I fear the day that I can’t do much. It will drive me crazy. I’m getting a little relaxed about cleaning, meaning the house looks a little more normal and not like a model home but I hate things out or clutter. I also move things around when I get bored with the look of a room but if I can’t do that I may have to call 911. Lol

Heather Kline, I’m so sorry to hear about your heart attack. I had one at age 45. I was thin, still menstruating….but a smoker. You are so right. I also have a family history of heart disease. I am here to tell you that was 22 years ago and I am doing very well. I had two stents inserted and thank God no bypass surgery. My mom passed after double bypass 32 years ago from a pulmonary emboli..she was only 66. Anyway, I have been very compliant with all my meds, I stopped smoking and yes, I watch my cholesterol. The week before my HA I felt dizzy and took my blood pressure and it was very high. I should have gotten myself to the doctor, but I was invincible. I’ve been on blood pressure meds all these years and it’s been under control. Unfortunately because I smoked all those years I have COPD, but regarding my heart I am so grateful to be doing very well. Your tips to women was spot on. I would just like to add that do not ever think you’re too young to have a heart attack. It can happen, so if you have any signs whatsoever, don’t be a dope like me, get checked out. My heart attack was a bad one..in the artery they call the widow maker, so God was clearly with me. I felt compelled to reply to you to let you know that if you follow all the instructions and do what you’re supposed to do, you’ll do well.
And yes, I just started watching this channel and I am really enjoying it. He makes me want to pop up and clean from top to bottom.
So again, good luck, behave and take care of yourself…you have a lot of living to still do.

What a wonderful job you are doing! I love the methodical method of approaching your task. Personally I stick to far fewer cleaning supplies. Dawn dishwashing soap, and Lysol wipes. One to clean, one to sanitize. Thanks for tip about Liquid gold. Also, did I see a dishwasher? Everything goes into that baby in my house! I am messy too, but has to be clean underneath. Sadly my stamina has plummeted , so I can understand how one can be overwhelmed. 😂. My other issue is an abhorrence to using micro cloths. Do they give any one else the heebie jeebies? I go to IKEA and buy tons of their washcloths. They are my main cleaning cloths, with cotton dish towels to dry and polish. The nose knows if a house is clean…
I wish I had access to a few hours of cleaning help ( of any kind ) from someone as meticulous as you! Bravo! And God Bless ❤

Since she’s elderly she probably has Medicare. If you have surgery that requires rehab, you can get a home health person, even a family member, to help once or twice a week. Without surgery as a reason she’d need to be covered under Medicaid.
If she’s got regular insurance from a spouse or retirement, her niece or whoever is helping her can contact her insurance to see what is covered. Possibly even a patient representative at the hospital could help.
Also a hint on pets…if the owner is going to be gone for awhile, make sure closets, bedrooms etc are closed to the pets. It will cut down on stress potty accidents on blankets, clothes or in shoes.

Taking out the trash, running the vacuum, doing some dishes, making some lunch, throwing in a batch of laundry, etc. can mean so much to someone who is not able to do those things for themselves. I struggle with “all or nothing” so things tend to pile up and stress me out and once it’s too much I have to do full day or even full weekend clean to catch back up. I’ve found that setting an alarm for every other day at the same time (when I’m typically back from work) called “5 minute cleaning” works really well. If I want to continue after 5 minutes I can but I don’t have to, and the time limit makes it feel like a race to see how much I can get done.

I have diagnosed OCD. While it *can* show up as excessive cleanliness, it’s usually based in intrusive fears, like “If I don’t clean this, I will get a disease that will kill me or my family”. There are a ton of types. Mine has nothing to do with cleanliness and everything to do with gruesome intrusive thoughts. It’s really frustrating to hear people toss out the phrase of OCD like it’s just a quirk of being tidy, but it’s honestly SO debilitating at times. I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it. It can just really minimize what people with diagnosed OCD actually face each day. Please know the difference.

I hate cleaning but I love a clean house so I do it. I wish I could afford a cleaner once a month but now we are retired and have enough money for bills and provisions. Thankful for people like you for helping the elderly.

Oh, one more thing. It is amazing to me how nice these homes are underneath the mess. I especially like older homes with character and quality. How special is it that these owners get to see their beautiful homes again. No you're special!

Worked for a cleaning company recently…left after 2 weeks. Last job was supposed to be “2 1/2 hours” took over 6…standard cleaning was really a serious deep clean 😩…wasn’t allowed to take one break..ever. Realized then that I loved cleaning, but rather work for myself…this now inspired me to help others ❤️🔥

It’s refreshing to find someone who is so thoughtful and instead of focusing on criticizing - which my siblings do - he actually puts effort into helping them. This is what people in these situations need - actual hands on help, not just people judging them and thinking they are superior. Pretending to “care” but actually just doing it to put the person down and feel superior themselves. Thank goodness this guy recognizes the person need help, not judgement. 👍❤️👍❤️👍

The way you dealt with that lady's things shows me you are truly an angel from God. My brother cared for my Mom before she passed away. He was the same. He said, It is still her house and her things and I will put them as she would want them. I love how you did this for that lady. For her to come home to that must have ben the best medicine for her. Thank you. New subscriber, from Great Britain.

So satisfying watching this home transform from an overwhelming mess into a tidy, clean, welcoming space. Even the pets were grateful -silent as they were- lounging comfortably on their couch. The difference was night & day.
You did an amazing job with 10 hours well spent. I’m sure many viewers, myself including, share your hope the house can be maintained with a weekly/fortnightly clean.
Subscribed. 100k and more joys to come, good sir.

I love that little dog keeping track of you, making sure you don't steal anything important, like an old sandwich from under the couch. Great video! Enough mess to make this very satisfying in the end. (A great thing for tile or vinyl floors is to squirt straight hydrogen peroxide on the floor and let is soak a few minutes, it will bubble the dirt right up.)

The easiest way I've found to clean a microwave is to put a bowl with half water and vinegar in and microwave it til it boils then let it set for a few minutes and everything wipes out easily! It also helps deodorize.

You’re a saint! I remember as a teenager I was called to babysit by a local social worker who was a friend of my mom’s. Young parents were required to get parenting classes, etc, and I was called to babysit. Two different clients had kitchens that looked like this, nasty caked on food, counters and sink filled with dirty dishes and baby bottles, it was enough to make me gag. Baby would be sleeping and in two hours I knocked that kitchen out. Guess that’s why I got call backs! She has lovely furniture.

There’s a giant drying rack next to the sink. Some call it a dishwasher, but when it’s empty it’s also a giant drying rack and stuff will dry faster than on a towel, and no towel to also dry or wash. Pro tip!😊

God has to have really blessed you and your family! If he hasn't yet, He will. I'm 75, I'm getting old, and there are days I can barely move. What hurts me is, I have 3 children and 13 grandkids. Our lives have been all about family. I almost have to beg them for help. And of course we pay them. There are no cleaning companies down were we live. It's so sad, when you get old, no one wants to help. So I give you thanks, praise and prayers for you! God bless you.❤
