Alex: do you plan to visit your old store and the ice cream parlor? It would be interesting to see what they’ve done with the place and how they’re doing.
Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods were the opening act for the Osmond Brothers in the early 70s. They were a one hit wonder. Their song was "Billy, don't be a Hero". I saw them in concert when I was 11.
Oh that was an iconic song that everyone hated and got stuck in your head all day. You’d finally get it out of your head and someone from the group would pass you a note….🎶BILLY DON’T BE A HERO🎶 our favorite song to hate.
Not sure if anyone else finds Alex’s commentary funny but I certainly do! The size of those steaks had me laughing so hard. I find myself talking back to him saying, “that picture of the family was the before steaks picture!” 😂😂
A little FYI on Ball Jars. They were made by the Ball brothers of Muncie, Indiana. Also, they founded Ball State University in Muncie and one of the hospitals in town was called Ball Memorial. I attended this university in the early 70's. It was well know for training teachers (early on called Ball State Teacher's College). My mom went there when you only needed a 2 year degree to be an elementary teacher. Hope this info is of interest to you.
Talking about cookbooks. This gentlemen wife passed and she had over 2000 cookbooks. He passed them on to me and I was looking at a few and some of them are listed and sold for over 500 dollars. If I did ebay I would be wealthy. Lol. There are cook books from the 1800s
Truck Ruts To Road: I've had many driveway put in over the years, using road gravel. What I was shown early on is that if you lay down "Road Paper" first, it stops the gravel from getting lost in the mud and you use much less gravel. What we call Road Paper here in the Pacific Northwest is like an industrial size and weight Garden Fabric Cloth. It comes on huge rolls that get cut to length at our local Rock & Landscaping supply company. It's available here for 12 and 20' wide driveways and is strong enough for the Dump Truck to back over as they start the run to pour and spread gravel. The gravel gets "suspended" on top of the paper and locks in to make the drive, with out being lost over time in the soft ground. I just roll it out before the dump truck arrives and hold the corners and edges down with bricks or rocks, until the gravel gets dumped to hold it in place. It doubles as a weed barrier, so grass doesn't grow up through the gravel. 🙂
Those Velvet tobacco tins reminds me of the Prince Albert tobacco tins I always saw in the 1970's. There was a joke about the Prince Albert tins. Someone would call a store and they would ask if they had Prince Albert in the can and when the store owner would say yes they would say, " You better let him out before he suffocates"
Hi Alex. The skate blades screw to the bottom of a figure skating boot. Boots and blades are sold separately when skaters get more serious about skating.
Greetings from switzerland, just amazing how creative each country is, and to see in canada you collect different things than you collect here in Switzerland. Just started in a Thriftstore where there people bring many things and also we clean houses of people who are deceased. And yes antiques are great... so I enjoy watching you / your family on the other side of the world
💖And any stationery. Also costume jewelry. Alex, I’ll keep letting you know until your come up with a junk journal box at auction. Love you and your family🤗💖🦋
Thanks Alex! You solved a puzzle. I have a rotary razor blade stropper that was my grandfather’s, but didn’t know the name for it ! You just showed it!
The small caliber scoop is really cool. If it was made during the war (in the trenches), even cooler. I could certainly see using it for scooping coffee grounds into my k cup for my daily coffee. Just the right size.
“…build your own one man hydrofoil. For 35 cents you could have the instructions that might catapult you off the crest of a wave to your doom.” = pure gold😂
Alex, when I saw you go through the box of yellow Pyrex, there was a vase that you showed. I didn't know if you knew about Stueben Ware from Corning. These were special pieces made by Corning. You might want to check that vase out and see if it is Stueben Ware. Those pieces can be worth a lot of money. I'm not saying that's what it is, but maybe check it out. I grew up in Corning, N.Y.
😂😮😊 some very cool stuff I like the book about building your own doll houses are there was a few other books and I like happy digging can't wait to see what's next
They have changed the name back to K-Days so they may have some nostalgic value. The art glass was beautiful and is very popular right now. I enjoy all your videos and have been a faithful watcher since the Potter House.
What is missing from the sled? It’s for transporting timber. In Norwegian it’s called ‘bukk og geit’ (buck and doe). This one seems to be a toy or a scale model.
I just read the article about the Kentucky farmer that unearthed 700 Gold & Silver Civi War era coins in his corn field . Amazing find. Edit: Historians speculate these coins could of been stashed there by Jesse James!
Ironic how the Needlework Magazines were dismissed (which were an Ooooo ooo in my book) but the Popular Mechanics magazines were a find 🤷♀️… those would have been kindling in my book 😏
Would you do some teaching videos ? For example , old tools, old glassware , old toys etc ? I think that would be very useful . Also, how to spot fakes .
NO NO! You wouldn’t want to mess around with “The Ark of the Covenant!” Everyone who’s an Indiana Jones fan knows what would happen if you do. 🔥☄️😮 12:04
Love watching your videos! I have become very interested in antique and vintage pieces. I do love when you see weird pictures from books/magazines like the Big Boy BBQ book and go into deep pondering of what's going on in the pictures. Cracks me up, lol. I have been doing some thrifting recently. I love antique/vintage tools as well. I bought my first thrift store toy, a Transformer. Thought it was a great find, and didn't look at it too well in the plastic bag. I spent 3.00 for a Starscream and opened the bag, and he's missing his wings and one cockpit window, lmao. Oops. My adult kids have a ton of Transformers, so they now have a Starscream for spare parts. It was fun though.
I have a black lockbox almost the same as yours, except I don't have the box that was inside yours. It belonged to My great grandfather. He was born about 175 years ago.
Lot up the needlework mags! They sell. Also, separate out those Jurassic Park cups! All movies in the franchise sell, but anything from the original movie does way better. I sold a plastic jeep toy from the original movie for $125.00 US-plus they paid to have it shipped to Australia. I would only lot up the lesser know ones, like the music ones.
AMF(American machine and foundry)bought Harley-Davidson in 1969. That ad was for the 1968 "Rapido" that I think had an Italian company design it. But AMF was an American company not Japanese.
Jessie Wilcox Smith was a significant designer out of Philadelphia. Studied with Howard Pyle. Someone might want to pull the illustrations for framing.
Oh some of those mason jars are hand blown glass & worth a mint! They come in a greenish color! I had some in 1/2 gallon size & Quart size! They are for one worth a $1000.00 dollars or more!
Alex: do you plan to visit your old store and the ice cream parlor? It would be interesting to see what they’ve done with the place and how they’re doing.
Alexander, has sold that building and has moved on.
One side became a icecream/soda shop. The other became a restaurant.
The new owners do not want it filmed
@@treedruidp CA❤qaà
@@treedruidhe did mention he would go back and visit the ice cream shop.
@@cayenigma Great marketing move. 🙃
The thing with the elf is an old style cookie jar. Remember that from my childhood.
Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods were the opening act for the Osmond Brothers in the early 70s. They were a one hit wonder. Their song was "Billy, don't be a Hero". I saw them in concert when I was 11.

Remember that song by Paper Lace in the UK.
In America, Christmas in July is a big thing for collectors
The Needlework magazines would sell by the box at auction!
I miss your store, and all the eccentric people that came in and out of your life if they’re interesting bits and bobble’s
Damn! I want that Grand Funk cup!!! Holy cow 🐄
I think everything from this unboxing is already at auction. There's one lot that is a big bunch of cups.
The best thing about old Popular Mechanics are the build it yourself plans
Im from South Africa and i enjoy your channel, i like vintage stuff.
Not sure if anyone else finds Alex’s commentary funny but I certainly do! The size of those steaks had me laughing so hard. I find myself talking back to him saying, “that picture of the family was the before steaks picture!” 😂😂
He is a funny guy.
Skipped over opportunitie to comment about the baby in the plastic bag with warning
He is too classy to make a bad joke like that😂❤
Already for the steak eating challenge with pumpkin side and fruit to finish.
I have always enjoyed his sense of humor
Christmas in July on sale now. Many year round Christmas vintage collectors on you tube.
The "flex bracelet" is actually one sleeve garter. It would hold up extra sleeve length on a dress shirt. It would be pulled up around the bicep.

Did you know David Letterman?
I was born at Ball hospital, went to Ball State, and my first job was at Ball Corp.
I enjoy your family's videos. I needed them. Today I've had a really rough pain. I enjoy watching you find your treasures.
Sorry you had a bad day, I hope tomorrow is better 💕🙏
Goosebumps and Babysitters Club books! And I loved the McDs cups. I love anything 80s or 90s.
They're going to have the runs for weeks! LOLOLOLOL Love those 50's 'typical' family illustrations.
Enjoyed this video. A nice variety of stuff. You made me laugh when you said “ I guess you shouldn’t sell the ark of the covenant “😂
Needle work magazines have patterns in them ! It's like buying patterns !
I used to collect them, for that reason! I think they would be valuable to anyone who is interested in vintage clothing, needlework, or ephemera!
Talking about cookbooks. This gentlemen wife passed and she had over 2000 cookbooks. He passed them on to me and I was looking at a few and some of them are listed and sold for over 500 dollars. If I did ebay I would be wealthy. Lol. There are cook books from the 1800s

Keebler and little old lady in the shoe look like cookie jars! So cute
Legally distinct cookie elves
The McDonald cups were just for an average large drink.Normally you had to order a large drink to get it. Not with kids meals.
Speaking of subscriptions, I just noticed that you are at half a million. Zowee!! Way to go, Alex!!
1940’s phone? More like 60’s or 70’s. Don’t age us too much 😂
Those Velvet tobacco tins reminds me of the Prince Albert tobacco tins I always saw in the 1970's. There was a joke about the Prince Albert tins. Someone would call a store and they would ask if they had Prince Albert in the can and when the store owner would say yes they would say, " You better let him out before he suffocates"
I really like the popular mechanics magazines! I actually wish this video was longer, as there seems to be some really items!
Alex, you have no idea how I love these videos…they bring me back to my children’s childhood.Thank you for that.🙏🏻🥹🥰
What a fantastic purchase of boxes. I’m so intrigued by all the items you show us. Thanks for taking the time to video and edit. 🫶
Wow! The Popular Mechanics with the combat hovercraft on the cover was a flashback from my childhood! I recall that specific issue vividly!
The clear plastic rotatary dial on the phone says seventies maybe early eighties
Hi Alex. The skate blades screw to the bottom of a figure skating boot. Boots and blades are sold separately when skaters get more serious about skating.
If your blades dull, you can buy net blades and replace the boot’s existing blades, that way you won’t have to break in new boots.
I'm always happy to see a new post from you.😊
I would not be surpeised if you found the Ark of the covanent ! You have came across such a wide range of things.
Greetings from switzerland, just amazing how creative each country is, and to see in canada you collect different things than you collect here in Switzerland. NOOO I didn't want that to end, Alex.
What an interesting haul!!
Hurry and film another, pleesease 😃💜
Good show, Alex! From the Canadian Arizona Contingent 😊🌵🌵🤠
If those yellow square Pyrex bowls are a chip and dip set, it could be worth a couple hundred dollars, especially if it has the metal dip holder.
The butter paper, the menus and vintage magazines would make an excellent box for journal makers. 🤗💖🦋
And the vintage mechanic and science magazines
And the indexlooking card you tossed out of the can opener box.
💖And any stationery. Also costume jewelry. Alex, I’ll keep letting you know until your come up with a junk journal box at auction. Love you and your family🤗💖🦋
For sure
It's fun seeing what you pull out of the boxes! Thanks for another great video 😊😊😊
Thanks Alex! You solved a puzzle. I have a rotary razor blade stropper that was my grandfather’s, but didn’t know the name for it ! You just showed it!
The “Old 96-er”!!! Great movie!
I think that Barbie cup would sell by itself right now!
New film out.
The small caliber scoop is really cool. If it was made during the war (in the trenches), even cooler. I could certainly see using it for scooping coffee grounds into my k cup for my daily coffee. Just the right size.
I think the family pictured on that old cook book we’re aliens in disguise. They were about to consume mass quantities.
Lol! Loved the Saturday Night Live reference!
Or they could have been Keto pioneers!
A very beautiful day to go through boxes of antiques😌
“…build your own one man hydrofoil. For 35 cents you could have the instructions that might catapult you off the crest of a wave to your doom.” = pure gold😂
Definitely laugh-out-loud material!

The Great Outdoors 😂 I love that film. I really enjoy your commentary Alex, it's highly entertaining.
Fun Fun loved the video Alex😊

Alex, those three biscuit tina are not wind in the willows, they are Beatrix Potter, love your videos, thanks
Another Great Video Alex!👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Oh My Gosh- Zane Grey/Gray! Spirit of the Border.. Awesome book
The art on the back of the truck 😂
In our area several antique shops do a christmas in july sale, so ill bet those vintage ornaments will sell fast
Between the YA books at the beginning and the McD cups at the end, this was a flash back to childhood I wasn't expecting on a random sunday afternoon.
Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Alex please do another cover song video soon. I love those!

In NB this is called a bob sled. Wood logs or pieces sit on the top of the front and back sled parts.
Late on my comment . Been hospitalized. Awesome again 🎸🎸🎸 🎸
Old lady who lived in a shoe and the elf container are cookie jars.
Hi Alex, looks like you scored a lot of neat items. Looking forward to seeing what’s in the next set of boxes. Take care until next time.
537 The family was clearly waiting for their guests to arrive. Judging by the steaks and volume of fruit they must have lots of boys. 😂
You may want to check the vintage cookbooks, you may be surprised.
( I have been collecting them since 1971)
I have found old handwritten recipes and newspaper clippings in some!
I love watching your videos 😻 always something fun or oddball. Have an AWESOME day and thank you ☺️
We still had and used a rotory phone just like that until 1967!
When I got my apartment in the late 1970s, it had a wall-mount rotary. Had the long cord so you could walk around while talking.
Alex, the canning jars with unusual names can be worth quite a bit of money to collectors. The Ball and Mason names are very common.
I was Max Headroom for Halloween one year back in the 80’s, lol!
H-H-H-H-Ha ha
💓💝💘❤💖 watching your videos, thank you for sharing and have a great evening!!!

It's not ironic at all. To each his..or her...own.
Thanks for sharing your finds and your amazing sense of humor...🥰🥰
Would you do some teaching videos ? For example , old tools, old glassware , old toys etc ? I think that would be very useful . Also, how to spot fakes .
Those popular mechanics magazines go for about $10 each at vintage shops in Vancouver
I have the Arc of the Covenant. It's in the package with an Indiana Jones action figure. So you could find one someday.
NO NO! You wouldn’t want to mess around with “The Ark of the Covenant!” Everyone who’s an Indiana Jones fan knows what would happen if you do. 🔥☄️😮 12:04

You always make me laugh. Thank you. I am excited to see the next unboxing. "And as always, bye for now".
What an interesting bunch of things! I'd love those 3 Beatrix Potter things!! Mildly obsessed with all things Peter Rabbit...
The old 96’er! Classic movie, the great outdoors!
Some very interesting articles. My Mother had that Fairy book but I never found it when I cleaned out the house . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
My grandmother had that double deck of game birds. You are right that those aren't the cards that go with it. They had birds on the back also.
Thanks Alex!
Bakelite for the safety razor handle.
Just catching up! Hope you are all doing well, Alexander and Melissa! 😊 Take care and enjoy your summer! 😊

It looks like just one lot with cups.
Omg so many boxes, love those cooking books
Some very good saves
Enjoyed. Nice haul.
Not just needle craft books! MC CALL'S!!

Grand funk Railroad - Why yes I'm old.
😂 If anyone could find the Ark of the Covenant, Alex, it would be you! If only you could search the Smithsonian or the Vatican!
Loved the art glass. Can be very valuable especially if signed. 🙂
