I mean... it is the superior version. It is pretty well agreed upon that this is better than the original.
sorry, not possible. this version is THE version.
I can't stop listening to this. Sam's bass fills with that octave pedal are just too goddamn funky.
Sam Wilkes has the bass face of all time.
It makes me chuckle but on the other hand I totally get it, if I was making a sound that funky I’d be boppin’ all over the place too.
give a noble prize to the bassist, damn he's a true beast.
Anybody else play this daily?
Whenever I'm busy this song
goes on in the back of my head.
Isabella Feliciano yes i do!!
Zak H omg I was gonna comment the same thing. I can't stop playing this.
This song has become apart of my life now. I play it so much, my kids love it. For some reason, they love Genevieve! I taught them well
chorus is stuck in my head.
dat keyboard solo just walks with me for about 2 weeks.
Came here to say that I care about Genevieve's ooh's.
David Pronk i do to!
Man all I can say is “holy shit” for the entire video. Just…jaw on the floor.
So so tight, guys, but... holy hell, Wilkes is tearing it up on bass!
The little off-beat fill around 2:52-2:55 blew my mind.
WHOA!
Wil Couch WORD. Dude kills it.
That's because he's Sam Fucking Wilkes!
I believe he does it multiple times throughout the song.

It's fucking awesome.
Teacher: “The test isn’t that confusing”
The test: *this house*
They are playing in a L shaped room. Drummer is further left, then bassist and keyboard / camera girl are in the corner.
Behind the camera girl is the right part of the room which is sax player and then singer in the back
Btw when I say left/right, perspective is from this dot : L°
They are in a _|- shaped corridor
When a pop musician is introduced to a bit of theory
I bought a high-end speaker to listen to this. I've been listening to it for a year on repeat. Just can't get enough.
"The Government Knows" done in this style with an extended breakdown would be sweeeet!
Genevieve's voice is so clean
I've seen this hundreds of times and noticed today that it's Louis Cole asking, "what's the tempo?" You go right ahead and set ALL OUR tempos, good sir!!
Waitaminit? I thought he answered that question by playing the hi hats rhythmically?
"if you want to keep it" - perfect pitch between Genevieve and Sam... pushes the song over the top.
A few days ago I found and fell in love with an unusual 2 piece band that also made visual art. I came out of that rabbit hole and landed right here! What an interesting couple of days. Im loving the entire journey, both where it started, and here, where I feel the rabbit really intended me to be.
this is like funk and edm smashed together and i love it... Thank you
You could almost call it Fusion
Classic House more likely than EDM
The band's performance is incredible, but whoever edited this video is a genius. Every time I watch it, I notice something new and hilarious!
Pretty sure the drummer edited it.
Lol. Did you see the part when they said Genevieve over dubed the oh and they said who cares. Lol
I like this better than the studio version tbh
tehsma I wholeheartedly agree.
Same.
100% AGREE
Recorded in a fucking hallway, no less.
at least partially due to Sam's bass line LOCKING IT DOWN
I am addicted to this band.
I saw some tears come out of that bass cuz it was gettin SPANKED!!
Gotta say, I way prefer this version to the studio recording.
I think everyone does
there is alot of overediting that happens with studio versions. Producers tend to want to add effects and post processing that real listeners dont care for. Live music will always be best
me too!
same
100% agree!
I watch this like every day
Same...dear god...I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!
i cant believe nobody noticed they hiding the joint with a cigarrete edit at 3:11, like its not even covering it all up, this video just gets better
LMFAO
