It started with Clown Core, and then I was like, who is this drummer? That led me to KNOWER, and that's been a fun rabbit hole, love that band. It's amazing to me that Jack looks like he's literally just giving the wurli a buncha goofy lil' slaps randomly throughout the keyboard, yet in actuality, he's hitting the right fucking notes. Ugh. Jack has more talent in his slaps than I do in my whole body..
I think with the settings he's got on the keyboard it doesn't really matter what notes he hits, it's more about the rhythm and creating an effect, like you can hear clearly at the start of the track.
Did these guys spend most of their best times together at University studying music. Because it shows. I think we all love the way they bounce off each other and have fun with what is complex funk and jazz. No egos or marketing nonsense. Just a massive cohesive talent doing what they deserve to do.
The problem with Vulfpeck is that I can't really listen to it on weekdays, it's guaranteed to get stuck in my head and those bass lines keep going on loop when I try to sleep. Actually missed meetings due to Vulf induced insomnia, ah well.
