HOW TO MAKE AN AMAZING OMELETTE ON THE BLACKSTONE GRIDDLE! EASY RECIPE

  • Today we show how to make an amazing omelette on the Blackstone Griddle! This easy recipe will help you make a delicious and huge omelette on the Blackstone Griddle! Do you want to know how to make such an amazing omelette on the Blackstone griddle, taking your breakfast game to a whole new level? Then join us in today's video! :D
    For this cook we used:
    8 large eggs
    1-2 tsp salt (preference)
    1-2 tsp pepper (preference)
    1/2 cup milk
    Mild Cheddar Cheese - graded (roughly 1 cup divided)
    Large tomato - diced
    Bacon
    Avocado - Sliced
    Mix eggs, salt, pepper, and milk in a large bowl and set aside. Bring griddle to low heat (we were between 420-460 degrees). Slowly pour eggs on the griddle, ensuring they do not run all over! We kept them in a rectangle shape, and broke up the egg occasionally so the egg on top would cook (this we did to ensure even cooking without burning the bottom of the eggs). Once the eggs are nearly cooked through, add any ingredients you want on one side (we used cheese, tomato, and bacon inside). Once ingredients are in, carefully fold over the other half of the omelette. Pull from the heat and let cool. While cooling, place any other items you want on top (for us, it was cheese, tomato, and avocado, and a bit more salt and pepper). Serve with your favorite salsa or side sauce and enjoy!

    Hey guys maybe try that long, narrow spatula that Blackstone sells. I've become a "spatula connoisseur" around my house, and that long narrow one works great for omelettes. Another idea: even though it dirties up another dish, but try pouring your egg mixture into a 1 or 2 pint measuring cup with handle. Might make it easier to slowly pour it onto the griddle. I haven't done that myself but just got the idea when I saw you pouring it slowly in the video.

      Thank you so much for watching and for the great suggestion! We’ve also considered picking up a huge pizza spatula to help with big cooks! Take care fam!🤙🤙

      @@waltwins hey so I decided to do omelettes on my Blackstone last night just like you guys did. And mine came out just the same as yours LOL! More of a scramble than anything else. I think it's just too many eggs at once. I've done 3 or 4 egg omelettes before and it worked out great. Also the egg mixture in a big measuring cup made it super easy to pour it on slowly!

    I used to use milk in my omelettes, but had an old Navy cook recommend water. I use about 1/2 an eggshell’s amount of water for two eggs, whip with whisk, and it ‘fluffs up’ better with both omelettes AND scrambled eggs.
    Yet another GREAT video ... thanks!

    I started thinking about the blackstone griddle design the other day. I really think they need to tweak the burners, i blow through tanks compared to my last grill which was "infrared". That thing sipped propane compared to the blackstone. I rarely cook past that "35" mark, even when I preheat it. it easily hits 400-500. on the burners that griddle gets screaming hot. oh, nice work on the omelet. looks tasty :)

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you man, it was delicious! Good call, I’ve been getting pretty good use out of the propane, it you’re right, they are really hot in spots, and not nearly as hot in others. We had the same thing with last grills so I haven’t been to bothered, but I do wonder what a redesign would do. Take care man!🤙🤙

      how fast are you using a tank? I just put on my 3rd tank on my Blackstone that we've been using just about 3 1/2 months now. So a tank seems to be lasting about 6-7 weeks, and we cook on the Blackstone probably 4 to 6 times a week.

    To the wonderful Waltwins! You make it look sooo easy! Breakfast has to be my favorite meal of the day. Just wish I had more time for it. But on Saturdays I love to make a good old breakfast with eggs and all the fixins. This omelette looked really good. I love one with many thing thrown in. I love a meat lovers one with a lot of meat in the middle as well. Put some hashbrowns in there as well! Oh yea. Now you're talking. Breakfast is one of those meals you can have ANYTIME! Works well anytime. Fun time guys. Looks great. Have a wonderful rest of your week and God bless. Griddle on!

    As usual...great cook! So, for those of us WITHOUT a twin, I've stumbled onto a hack that makes a one man egg pour a little more manageable. I used a pancake batter dispenser to pour the eggs and it made it SO much easier to control the eggs with the spatula in the other hand. Dispense a little bit of the egg at a time, form it with the spatula and repeat. Very effective.

    • @waltwins

    Omelets are like a blank canvas. There is so much you can add to them. Sometimes we empty all the little bits of stuff in the fridge. Our favorite are cheese, bacon, tomatoes black olives, bell peppers and mushrooms. Food doesn't have to be pretty to taste amazing. With our omelets we add a dash of baking soda for fluffy eggs.

    I know youve done a seasoning video along with tips and tricks, however I just need some advice. I have cooked on my 28" Blackstone and have seasoned it and all. when I'm done cooking I do what you do and clean it off then apply a light coat of oil again. however I am wondering if I screwed up. my griddle is somewhat sticky.. so how do I go about fixing that? do I need to crank the heat and burn it all off and start over ? thanks guys for your awesome content, just subscribed this past Friday. have a great day!

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +2

      Hey! Thank you so much for watching gnash for the sub! We really appreciate it! I have found that if it’s getting sticky, after a cook and clean, I will do a re-seasoning - where I’ll lay a thin coat of oil down and burn it off, and repeat a couple of times. The more you cook, the less sticky it will become too! Good luck, let us know if this works. Take care!🤙🤙

      Mark-John Clifford no way! Honestly, we meet up every couple of weeks to do our cooking videos, and record several at a time. We just wrapped for the day finish 6 cooks, tomorrow we have 3 more lined up, the first of which is Italian sausage, peppers and onions!! We’re going to toss them on a hoagie. That’s so awesome, we hope we do the cook justice! (The video will be uploaded within the next 3 weeks). 😄🤙🔥

    Eggs to make him be quite challenging on the Blackstone. After trial and error I have found that turning the burners off and just using residual heat cooks eggs perfectly on the Blackstone

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching! Eggs is probably the one thing we’ve had more trial and error trying to figure out. The low heat definitely makes a huge difference, so we try to hold back after cooking meats to do the eggs. Turning the heat off will be our go-to next! Thank you for the suggestion Richard! GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥

      WALTWINS your eggs looked awesome by the way! I’ve had some disasters with eggs LOL. My Blackstone only has two burners so I think the heat is a little more difficult to control over the entire cooking surface

    There's a reason Omelets are made with a 3 Fold, when you mess up the first fold covering the ingredients, then the last fold covers that mistake...of course when you lay Avocado on the top of any Omelet, all mistakes are forgiven, adding a spoonful of Sour Cream on top of the Avocados redeems previous Recipe mistakes...adding a little Salsa makes you a Legend.

    Making an omelette a Blackstone is all technique. It’s very hard not to burn eggs, and any brown on an egg is burned, so it can become a scramble very quickly. Still good but I’ve yet to truly see it done! Several years at a Waffle House on the line may help! Still a good video fellas. I’m off to make breakfast now..

    You scraped away all of that bacon grease then added a bunch of oil? Crazy man!! You lost all that heavenly flavor! Keep the vids coming guys. Love 'em.

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! While it looks like we scraped it all, we still had a cup’s worth in the corner we used - as odd as it sounds, when I’ve just used the bacon grease with eggs, the eggs burn quickly, but with some oil, it tampers it down, and we get a longer cook. Take care and thank you so much for watching!🤙🤙

    stop playing with the egg.

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching. On the contrary, we’ve discussed with chefs - on the really hot surface, some breaking helps the egg on top cook before the bottom burns. If you noticed, we still had browning, even with movement. Had we not done this, the egg would have burned before cooking through - something we also learned unfortunately through experience. Take care!🤙🤙
