We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press.This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.

I made this tonight. I have died and gone to heaven!!!! Came out absolutely perfect. I took my time with the rice, like you said and it came out great. The only change I made was to throw in some green onions with the veggies, it gave it some BOOM!! I'm a fan :)

Honestly I never have luck with cooking the rice beforehand and saw Todd Toven use Uncle Bens ready cook Jasmine rice and that was a game changer for me. Great video as always guys.

This was my first cook when I got my Blackstone last month. Made this for my high school daughter and her friends and I am now a legend! I'm doing an encore tonight. But I need to get the quantity right. For 12 people, how much uncooked rice do I need? (And the egg ratio is per uncooked cup of rice, correct?)
That is so amazing fam, congratulations on the successful cook! Thats a great question, we learned you need to”approx.) 1/2 cup uncooked rice per person (if rice is the main dish - we always try to ensure we have more, so I’d go between 6-8 cups uncooked (and you are correct on the egg ratio!😂 Although that’s our take, many use far less - 2-3 eggs, but we love it so we’ve always used more). Looks tasty but i would take it up a notch by adding a lil chicken broth some fresh ginger a lil curry powder n oyster sauce then add a few scallion on top of the rice before serving😉

Adam & Bret... I've noticed that you have made quite a few cooks lately that used Jasmine rice. Do you use a rice cooker to cook your rice and if so what is the make/model of the cooker? I have been thinking of getting one but I want to get a good one. And one that can make enough if we want leftover rice for other dishes. Definitely gonna try this one out. I guess I should have waited till the video got past 03:25 to ask about the rice cooker, sorry.
Thank you as always for watching Charles! We were gifted our rice cooker about 12 years ago, and we love it! It’s an 8 cup Tefal rice cooker. I couldn’t find a link, but if I remember, it wasn’t more that $20-$30. It’s great! Proctor Silex makes one that is very similar. Hope this helps!🤙🤙
@@waltwins Thanks Guys, I will have to check out Costco or Sams Club and see which brands and models they carry. Lately, I have been using Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Jasmine. I think it was Todd Toven that used it in one of his cooks. It is pretty good and is ready in 90 seconds in the microwave. But I think getting a rice cooker will be cheaper in the long run because it takes two packages to feed three people.
Oh for sure - we cook the rice ahead of time in our rice cooker - typically the day before and let it dry over night on a cookie sheet in the fridge. Cheers fam!🤙🤙

If it feels like it isn’t cooking, we can bring the temp up, or if it feels like it’s cooking too fast, we can bring the temp down. Hope this helps!!🤙🤙

I suggest some fish or oyster sauce or both in the mix of soy and sesame oil for the rice.

Thank you so much for watching! For us, we typically use Kikkoman, but we don’t specifically have a preference. I have seeen some use both regular and low sodium to lessen the saltiness, but we’ve not done that - just this sweet/regular mix because we were low on sweet. Hope this helps!🤙🤙

What temp and how long did you do the frozen vegetables? I tried this cook and it took forever to get vegetables done.
Thank you so much for watching - it was honestly no low than 5 minutes, but our vegetables had also been outside for approximately 30 minutes (in Florida, it was 80 degrees when we were cooking. But honestly, shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes or so. Hope this helps!🤙🤙

This was my first cook when I got my Blackstone last month. Made this for my high school daughter and her friends and I am now a legend! I'm doing an encore tonight. But I need to get the quantity right. For 12 people, how much uncooked rice do I need? (And the egg ratio is per uncooked cup of rice, correct?)
That is so amazing fam, congratulations on the successful cook! Thats a great question, we learned you need to”approx.) 1/2 cup uncooked rice per person (if rice is the main dish - we always try to ensure we have more, so I’d go between 6-8 cups uncooked (and you are correct on the egg ratio!😂 Although that’s our take, many use far less - 2-3 eggs, but we love it so we’ve always used more). Thank you so move for watching! I wasn’t too sure and did a quick search. Looks like it is the same! Dark soy sauce is different from thick soy sauce, because it says that thick soy sauce is sweeter (and thicker) because of the added sugar. Good to know! Hope this helps!🤙🤙
Hey fellas. Love the vids. Question. When I throw down my rice on the blackstone, I always seem to have the bottom layer of rice geting stuck to my blackstone. Any suggestions? More oil? Or seasoning issue? Thanks a lot guys!

Always cook the rice the day or so before and stick it in the fridge for a day, it does work sooo much better!! Very clumpy if you don’t.

Looks tasty but i would take it up a notch by adding a lil chicken broth some fresh ginger a lil curry powder n oyster sauce then add a few scallion on top of the rice before serving😉

Adam & Bret... I've noticed that you have made quite a few cooks lately that used Jasmine rice. Do you use a rice cooker to cook your rice and if so what is the make/model of the cooker? I have been thinking of getting one but I want to get a good one. And one that can make enough if we want leftover rice for other dishes. Definitely gonna try this one out. I guess I should have waited till the video got past 03:25 to ask about the rice cooker, sorry.
Thank you as always for watching Charles! We were gifted our rice cooker about 12 years ago, and we love it! It’s an 8 cup Tefal rice cooker. I couldn’t find a link, but if I remember, it wasn’t more that $20-$30. It’s great! Proctor Silex makes one that is very similar. Hope this helps!🤙🤙
@@waltwins Thanks Guys, I will have to check out Costco or Sams Club and see which brands and models they carry. Lately, I have been using Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Jasmine. I think it was Todd Toven that used it in one of his cooks. It is pretty good and is ready in 90 seconds in the microwave. But I think getting a rice cooker will be cheaper in the long run because it takes two packages to feed three people.

Oh for sure - we cook the rice ahead of time in our rice cooker - typically the day before and let it dry over night on a cookie sheet in the fridge. Cheers fam!🤙🤙

So medium low on temp for the rice. Are we trying to be at 325-350 degrees ?
Thank you so much for watching! That’s a pretty good approximation!😂😂. On my unit here, med/low is closer to the 350-360 range, but yes! We always say this because it allows us to control the cook. If it feels like it isn’t cooking, we can bring the temp up, or if it feels like it’s cooking too fast, we can bring the temp down. Hope this helps!!🤙🤙
