Well When John Garamendi sparked Federal Investigation yes but its more than that now. We have to look at how some of the Buyers from Bay Area VC's were claiming that they would make Austin, San Francisco, San Jose, Palo Alto like Utopian cities but that lead to escalating income inequality though.

The fact that this company can be so secretive both in its membership and its purchases, is disturbing. In addition, this may put them in a position primary private landowner in the county, competing with the municipalities themselves for power and control. This a small elite group of people who have already inflicted damage locally and nationally (Goodman Sachs executive, 2008!), who now want to do the same to Solano County. Look at what they did to SF and the greater region, making housing unaffordable and giving no thought to how their decisions impacted communities and their workers.
The indifference they have to the farmers and the environment of the Delta Wetlands is telling. This is the time for the communities to rally, coming together to stop this disaster.
I think about all those apartments & large expensive housing around the Sacramento county edges... Most of those homes are vacant because most people in Californias can't afford to live in them because there not enough Jobs in the area... 😢

Also anytime the leader hypes up a "Utopian City" it automatically ends up being about the city being run by dictators and segregationists. So far Solano County is tied with Sacramento as the least segregated counties in Northern California. But that will change if "Flannery City" is approved.

It’s not all farmland as she said in the report it about half wind farms and abandoned gas wells, nobody wants to live near either one and how are you going to sell that . Infrastructure doesn’t exist for even one home. Going to be tough convincing people to move to the middle of nowhere and start a city where nothing exists, people want amenities like restaurants gyms shopping and entertainment places, I can see the adds now touting the smell of the new city surrounding cattle farms and abandoned gas wells.

It's not going to be the water that will be the issue but all that rock needed for sound buffering. There isn't going to be a utopian city with all those flying aircraft overhead. Crops don't care about sound which is why it was farmland for so long.
A lot. And, this water will come from a section of land that has priority/first-in-line rights, which means that this development will take water from the delicately balanced Delta wetlands ecosystem, the remaining local farmers, and the municipalities.

Why would you have allowed some mystery company to come in and buy up all this property over all these many years without digging deeper into them first? If none of you in the city manager's office felt comfortable with any of these deals and if you didn't feel as though you're getting enough answers to your questions why would you allow them to go ahead with the sale of any of these massive areas of land?
It would seem to me that if somebody was trying to muscle their way in and do so clandestinely that, that would be even more of a reason FOR you TO deny them the sale of the land NOT go through with, it. My other thought on the matter is that they were plotting out this land to put million-dollar structures on the land and that what they wanted to do is bring in the billion-dollar high-roller individuals first and then I guess put people of a lesser financial status in and around the edges of the property.
Local government usually has no say in the sale of land unless there are development permits or something required like tax. Looks like there are public documents relating to the sale because there are lawsuits involved, nothing to do with government bodies.

I lived in Sacramento for many years before moving out of state. I saw the development spill over into Yolo county and knew then that one day the growth would come to Solano as well. There's no threat to national security. Flannery just wanted to keep the purchase secret to avoid taking flak or lawsuits from local farmers and ranchers. This is a common practice for real estate developers. They prefer to keep their acquisitions private.

If the project is so noble why did they want it kept secret? It's a ''smart city'' total surveillance of activity under the guise of good environmental management. these cities are being proposed by Google, who created the social credit scoring system model for Chinese communist party. That requires monitoring of citizens purchases speech and movements along a corresponding score which either punishes or rewards. I'd buy it from you, and set up a huge city for the Homeless, with tiny one bedroom pre-fab houses, a huge farm to grow what we eat, and sell the surplus. Jobs will be created via the farm itself. There will be a medical facility as well as vans for transportation. Security will be a combination of on foot patrols and drones. A non profit will coordinate banking, commercial, job training etc....Away from any major city. This is only for the unwanted Homeless.

If you know the area, it's even more of a disaster: mostly Delta wetlands with seasonal low density grazing. The ecosystem is part of the greater River Delta region and Bay. Not only are these players affecting small family farmers, but cities and towns, an AFB, but the water for all the people and creatures of the whole region.

Fun Fact for people not familiar w/ the area: just south of there off of I-80 a few minutes is a town called Vacaville. That roughly translates to "Cow Town" in Spanish, and there is a reason for it. 😂

I grew up in Vacaville--nearby to this mega land grab in Fairfield / Suisin City, I cannot imagine a worse place to build than on this land and this location. Others appearing in this KGO7 piece have said it beautifully. It also reminds me of the 'land grab' that went on to purchase and build on land that became Foster City in the late 1950's (it's also a rather strange place to build...well to be fair it was was just water when that land grab happened).

This isn't unusual in the final examination. Here in Jacksonville, Florida, we have a family that owned upwards of 65k acres. Go to google earth and you'll see what is remaining, you can't miss it. About 25k acres of green near the ocean. We could easily have something similar, except that the Davis family, has been selling off and developing parcels from hundreds to now 5 thousand acres for new neighborhoods. This way, the several generations of family can continue to reap the windfall for decades. The difference here is that these billionaires want to see their creation before they pass on. I think it's an ego thing with them.
Most likely thing is that the Democratic party intends to close Travis and release it to California. California will sell it to developers. The Airport will become another FEDEX/UPS freight hub. They are buying the surrounding land because they know the value of it will go up. It helps to be a connected Democrat and know when things are going to happen.

That's the only thing that makes any sense at all. No way are any of the people involved in this going to pay so much more than what the land is currently worth otherwise. They didn't get wealthy by being that stupid without a plan and/or knowledge of something the average person doesn't have. Or making very well-hedged bets.
It would have been easier to pull off a land grab if it was forrested,, that way they could have burned the people out of there with well placed spontainious combustion events ( DEW),, then make em dissapear,, lots cheaper than just buying the land ,, it worked for pelosi in the highspeed rail rightof way,, how mysterious.

I just had without warning a land developer cut fences on our 40 year old appurtenant easement road .deed filed in kendall county tx. He has violations of this deed.he iz subdividing putting in new large entrances. Cutting across this road,paving also. County and sheriff office say its OK. A civil case if I want to pursue it. HE Ran me and my family down with verbal abuse .Said he did it cuz he could. Letter s to attorney General ignored. So watch it. They don't care about you at all.

Is this just another land grab to take valuable agricultural lands out of use to control the Food Market... remember, Bill Gates and other billionaires, maybe even some of these, are buying up Prime Farmlands in other states also... Farming is supposedly a major contributor to Greenhouse Gases... so buy them up and NOT farm them, Not raise cattle or other valued crops... increasing the costs of food to force people to change their eating habits... are these people conspiring with our Dystopian Government to subjugate the population and force us to go vegan?... this would be a secret long term program... probably started under Obama...
