A few hours over the low water in the bay. Beach sea fishing Norfolk

  • Well after the disaster yesterday at Scratby, I decided to do the opposite. Fish the low water, and instead of fishing the shallows, move to some deeper water. Well the deepest water close to me is in the bay. Its between Caister and Great Yarmouth, and it could produce a good load of cod years ago. Its a good walk, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone, and give the tractor a run. It hasnt has a run since December, so I chucked the gear in the boat and drove down the beach. Well there was plenty of weed, but also a few fish.

Hello mate, sorry, I didn't get chance to comment on Wednesday's vid, had a crappy day at Papworth, yesterday weren't much better, back and forth to the docs, now got 2 appointments pending at Bury hospital. At least you managed to get out and about, some very nice whiting, we won't talk about Scratby, I thought you were flying a kite with that weed in the wind but at least the weed cleared off after a while, take care, Norfolk Ray

Oh bloody hell, sounds like you are going through the wars. Yes there was some good whiting there! Hope you are getting sorted soon Ray

Nothing like going fishing in style ha ha. They were some good Whiting you pulled in, I would have fileted them and had a fry up on the beach.

The comment you said about getting your own back on the crabs had me in stitches. Do you ever take your boat out and fish with rods for fun? I imagine out where the wind farm is located would be a good spot.

hahaha I did buy two new uptiders last summer to have a go rodding in the boat. I must get round to it, because I do like it. The windfarm is clean sand, the better spots for fishing on the bottom are Corton / Hopton way, mud and plenty of feed. Theres tonnes of smooth hounds off Hemsby way close in, its alive with them

@@beanysfishing2555 It would be good see some videos of that especially if you’ve got new rods to use. I used to have a boat moored in Newhaven which I sold before moving to Norfolk and had some of the best days fishing. I get plenty of beach sessions in here but nothing beats those flat calm days out on the boat.

@@rubythescooby4002 oh yeah, its great fishing in the boat. Theres tonnes of smooth hounds in the summer here, hard to get through them at times to get anything else

I can add to the tip about getting the flask out .
Balance the cup on your knee while you're putting the cap back on the flask,,,, be patient,,,,,start rolling a smoke.
BANG. Bites on both rods guaranteed.

hahaha I heard of people years ago in matches bringing flasks full of water to get extra bites!
