Catching mackerel on belitronic jigging machines at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Beach boat sea fishing

- Well as the water is sheer, and there is lots of seals about, I thought netting would be a waste of time, so I decided to fit the stripper boxes, rollers and jigging machines to the boat. Its a bit early for mackerel close to the beach, but it was a cracking morning at sea, so would be a shame to miss it. Well I only had a few mackerel, but its cracking to see them coming up on the feathers, its one of my most enjoyable methods of fishing. If anyone needs any heavy duty gear, then Edd Russel at fairwater fishing is your man! www.fairwaterf...
Cracking video Mate, great kit fantastic to see it working the macks. Every credit for the dedication. Also I think the stripper boxes are a credit to you, it works well and bespoke to your vessel and way of working.
Cheers mate. They are cracking bits of kit, just a shame we dont get more macks here so they earn their keep. Im happy with the stripper boxes, they arent fabrication shop quality, but Ive only got a welder and a small grinder, so I had to make do with what I had.
Great to see one of the local inshore fisherman showing us what you do and why next to no one round here anymore... So great to see someone still working the boats and gear though the bad and good. keep the vids coming top work.
Cheers. Lack of fish, red tape and the government are to blame for lack of boats. Its a shame, give it 10 years and I will probably the last here. Still I really enjoy it, so keep going
That's how I made a liveing in Scotland onmy ip I had dng jiggers
I wish we had the Mack shoals here like in Scotland. It’s a great method of fishing
Boxes in hours most I had was over 40
That’s bloody good going. We don’t get hardly any Mack’s here now for some reason
It was good going cash was good start ov season then big boats start price goes down then its just pot bait
What size hp is on your boat buddy
Very interesting video, didn't know there was such kit. I bet if you were in a area where there was a lot of fish it would keep you busy hauling and shooting the line.
Yes, if the mackerel are really thick, you can catch literally tonnes. One on every hook, every drop, it soon fills the boxes up
Enjoyable video Beany, We also use the machines for dive board fishing for Pollack down here in darkest West Cornwall. What sort of price are the machines if I can ask?
Well older bj5000 is about £1000 second hand, the new models bj5000ex are 2.2k plus vat new
lovely fish, them and herring might be the most numerous but I think they're both the tastiest, surprised you don't get many bass, thanks for the vid, take care, Norfolk Ray
Yes, you cant beat a fresh mack, they are cracking to eat. Ive only ever had one tiny bass in a few years, its got to be the line diameter that puts them off
Nice report Beany. Strange no Bass, plenty about at the moment.
Cheers. I never get bass on the jigging machines, I’ve had one tiny schoolie in 5 years. Must be the heavy mono
Great videos, love the channel!
When did you get the large lead ball weight or did you make it?
Hello, I bought them off that well known auction site. I couldn’t find a mould big enough.
@@beanysfishing2555 haha after one for trawling but maybe 2lb so a bit smaller than yours. Been racking my brain as to what mould I could use make a 2lb ish bomb lead.
Thanks
There will be something on eBay. Spencer carter is selling 3lb lead
Moulds on findafishing boat
Spot on, thanks mate
Thanks so much so enjoyable I miss fishing so much no I have to work in A&E that's the only fishing I I do love love this channel thanks so much so enjoyable
Glad you like it mate, its an expensive hobby for me. Fishing has gone to the wall in a lot of parts of the country, but here has always been poor, especially since the cod vanished. Mainly just tonnes of herring.
Do you have to check the hooks, even the ones that haven't caught any fish after its ran over the metal or is that not a problem?
Hello, I dont check them while fishing, but I do check them after every trip. There is the odd bent one I straighten etc
You accent is very thick, are you from the U.K.?
Yes, I'm in Norfolk, UK
Out of curiosity, was fishing south beach Yarmouth last night (don't point and laugh) and noticed a boat with no lights first row down from north end, with a guy following on the beach, they got closer and realised they are working a net....saw no lights,no markings and they were trying to be stealthy....is that a legal method?....they were chasing the Bass, acting like commercial but operating right up to the shore from north beach down as far as the green cafe south of Wellington pier
That’s an old fashioned method of catching sea trout, where one man walks the beach. A lot of sea trout are just in the surf. Also using a short net, it keeps the seals away
@@beanysfishing2555 nice one, thank you
Why you going on about legalities? Are you a grass or something?
Another interesting video mate 👍
Cheers, just need a few more Mack’s to turn up now
thanks for posting, enjoyed the watch. Subbed
Thanks mate, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed watching it
Really well made, nice to follow ya
Awesome, thank you!
