Nice to see you fishing in a different location. I thought there’s signs along the left hand side of the pier saying fishing is prohibited into the harbour side.
Another interesting video Beany, good to see the lobsters although you only caught a little whiting, when you're fishing with a good mate it don't matter who catches what as long as there's good natured Micky taking. It's a poor old world without laughing at each other, good to see you out again but please be careful, take care, Norfolk Ray
Nice to c you about bud, used to deliver fish to Lowestoft fish market 35 years ago, plenty of beamers, stern trawlers, netters and potters bet there’s next to none now.
It’s funny back then we all thought fishing was poor, how I miss those floating cod ends full of cod n whiting in the winter, cods a rare thing on the south east coast now, perhaps the waters to warm now or so many whiting eating the fry, nostalgias nothing like it used to be,have ya got the all clear to get back on the oggin yet ?.
@@brettlittle9913 Yes, the water is definitely too warm. The cold water plankton has gone north, so all the cod fry hatch and starve, they need these to eat for the first two weeks. No one thought they would ever end
Nice to see you throwing undersized fish back plus the lobster with (coral)eggs. I watched so called fishermen keep undersized where I live. Just for the record some unscrupulous lobster fishermen used to cook and eat the Nancy's in a roll on their way back to port, subsequently the decline in the population over the years. Happy fishing to you.
Not your day for catching, you'll have to stay north of the border. I married a suffolk gal and she's a diamond. All the best mate and tight lines next time.
And fishing right on top of the sign that says fishing on the harbour side of the pier is prohibited. And the reason for that just floated past. Genius
Well as I have a commercial 16.5m skippers ticket, and Bob has worked on supply ships and been on the lifeboat most of his life, I think we may just understand how boats work!
Depends on what part of the country and what EIFCA area. They all have slightly different byelaws. Here in Eastern IFCA, you dont need a licence, and are restricted to 5 lobsters per day and 25 crabs.
@@dannycarter3647 yes its fine in Norfolk. As long as they are over 87mm between eye socket and back of carapace, not soft, and dont have eggs then you are good to go
@beanysfishing2555 That's quite small where I am they have to be a lot bigger. It's the same for crabs, Cromer ones only have to be 25cms as opposed to mine where the males have to be 170cms. It's vital to check the local rules or you can face prosecution.
Thank you, friend, for sharing your experience.
Very cool video dude,👍
Thanks for watching

Thanks, every things gone great

A laugh and a bit of banter is what life is all about. It’s strange them fish all wanted rag, and nothing else.
i thought that you were only allowed two pots on lowestoft pier
That was an old rule thats changed apparently.

Hello, unfortunately there is only about a dozen boats in the harbour now. You saw the best years of the fishing industry

Yes, you have to think of the future. Short term thinking taking undersized and berried lobsters
I always thought you weren't allowed to fish harbour side...
I didnt see any signs
Oh my god yes a fishing channel! Have they sorted the road/bridge situation that way yet?
The new Lowestoft bridge isn’t finished yet, so no. It won’t be long though
@@beanysfishing2555 it's been forever coming though hasn't it?
@@ozbolli The new bridge is complete and in position, they are just doing the final touches to the roads etc
Can i know the bait you use ? Thank you
It was a mix of rag worm, herring and squid
Nice to see you buddy 👍
Do you have a wind muffler thingy by any chance? Had to watch that one in silence
Sorry about that, the first few minutes were bad because I had only just got out of my van
Dont be sorry mate, enjoyed the video. Just giving some feedback. Would like to see more of these pier vids. And that sunset 👍@beanysfishing2555
@@CraigsAllotment Im sure there will be in the future
@@CraigsAllotment I totally agree with you, and have just ordered a wireless mic, so it will also be better in the boat

hahaha no, I couldnt believe it. They just seemed to want rag and rag only

Oh yes Mr Hudson, takes more than a few head bogies!
Do you need a license or anything similar to use those lobster nets? For home use I mean not commercial.

@@beanysfishing2555thanks for the reply. I'm in Norwich, so was thinking I could give this a try around the Norfolk coast. Fancy a lobster.
