- An early morning start at the most Southerly Norfolk beach, Hopton -on -sea.
With clear skies and a flat calm sea, can i catch anything other than the humble Whiting.
Nearest tackle shop is Gorleston Tackle Centre a few miles North of the venue. With no facilities at the beach, there are shops and pubs in the nearby village of Hopton.

Great addition to the Library Dave.

@@david892006 Cheers Dave
I am hoping to get out over the Christmas holidays and back on track with my Sea Fishing and hopefully catch one of theses Haddock which have show up along the Holderness Coast in the past few weeks a new species for me and a chance to catch one of the C.. fish 🤞all the best for Christmas and the new year Dave tight lines 👍🎣
Few Whiting Dave nice day next to the sea good fresh air good video see soon Clive
Nice video Dave,
Concise, Informative, and good advice on parking considerately.
When I was a teenager living in Gorleston I used to harvest mussels off the old wooden groynes.
A lot of work collecting and then opening them up, but a great free bait.
Even though it's tricky to keep on the hook using elastic.
Fairplay you go the extra mile with your information 👏 ps very well presented 🎣 👍
Thank you for your very kind comment. Glad they are of some interest 👍

Hi Dave😀this was the first video of yours that I have come across. It was so comprehensive and informative, thanks. Always interesting to see where other anglers fish and their rigs/baits around the UK. Keep up the good work, best wishes from the Channel Islands😀🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thank you for your lovely comment. I'm going to finish off Norfolk soon then move onto Suffolk using the same format. Eventually getting to Essex where I was born . There will also be odd 'Road Trips' as well 👍🏼
Nice one mate from GRIMSBY.
Enjoyed your video. Cheers. What make is your tripod or what would you recommend?
Apologies I assumed you meant the video tripod 🙄 My fishing tripod is infact an Ian Golds super match but I've added the breakaway soft rest heads to protect my rods . Any of the Ian Golds are brilliant rests and are bomb proof.Hope this helps 👍🏼
Looks a bit calm for fishing. What would you say is the best weather for sea fishing?
The sea was very flat the morning I filmed . It can still produce good results though, Rays and Flatfish can be very active and feed well in calm conditions. As long as the water has colour in it, that's more of a factor. I would always prefer it a little 'rougher' tho and slightly more tide pull than I had on the day. Thanks for watching and your comment 👍
Cracking video very informative mate just a quick question I’ve seen other anglers make rigs up then clip them on the tripod just wondering if it’s a good idea cheers 🎣
Thanks for watching. That's an excellent question. It's not really necessary when pleasure fishing and I certainly don't do it if there are Dogs around. If they are not on a lead there is a risk of them grabbing the baited hook. It's only really because it's something I do when match fishing as it saves a trip all the way back to the box before casting out again.
@@david892006 cheers mate I’ve got cart bombs made up in the freezer but I think the juice Will just leak out so should I just keep my prepared rigs in me bait tray i haven’t been long back sea fishing for about 30 years so thanks for the advice much appreciated mate ta 🎣
Your very welcome. We don't use Cart round here but when ive seen it used up North, they keep them in wide mouth flasks .
buy ian gold,set for life
Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry there was a misunderstanding. I thought he meant the video tripod 🙄
My tripod is an Ian Golds super match but I have added breakaway soft rubber heads . As you say, last a lifetime 👍
