Walk in today in to my local archery shop and the guys are tremendously helpful, got the 2 pin on the Mathews V3X , just out of curiosity I ask for 3pin housing and he just grab my bow swapped out ,and he said there you go go shoot some arrows,love it , recommend it, by the way great review and tips on the set up, appreciated

I saw so many 2 pins on the market. I never understood the hype with having the 2nd pin stationary. I shoot 3 pin fast eddies on all my bows. I converted two of my 3 sights from 5 pins to 3 pins.
Awesome review. How much bigger is the triple stack housing vs the double pin?

Referencing your previous video about getting the most distance out of your sight, would you still use your bottom pin for the calibration then put the sight tape on with the 3rd indicator needle pointing at 60? Then, if you wanted your pins at 20/30/40, wheel the third indicator to 40, sight in the 2nd and 1st pin, then move the other indicators? I'm going back and forth on whether it would still achieve the same goal or if it would just be 6s. Currently, my wheel is as high as it will go with the third pin at 20yrds and the 3rd indicator as low as it will go.

Looking forward to upgrading my hogg father with the three pin. Tired of using the bubble as the third, although it was a good reference pt when I was shooting a lot out long distance. Just had to kind of guess the yardage as the site tapes ended at 100 yards. No I can make my own with archers advantage and really dial this in, just waiting on the labels to show up so that I can print and get longer site tapes. new bow is capable of 150yds with a 600 grain arrow on my top pin. hehe
You can put little dots of paint on the bar holding the pin that's what others I know do to get extra distance or just more reference points
the disadvantage I see is that the 10thou pin won't be a benefit because the black pins that hold the fibre up are wider than the fibre itself so it's going to be covered
Are you doing a video of sighting one in?
Really interesting sight it is a multi pin floater but with vertical pins. It is a bit confusing with the multi indicators on the wheel. Once you turn the wheel only one pin and one indicator work . It is definitely expensive but it is 2 sights in one. To be completely honest I would prefer a single pin or a pure 5 pin. This will work for 3D but for hunting I feel it is to confusing. Way too many things to get confused with. For around 700 you can get 5 pin with range finder so you always now the distance no guessing the correct pin will be illuminated and you just shoot.
Have you found that fast Eddie housings hide a bit behind the riser on Mathews bows when centershot is at 13/16 ??
Will you have just the housing available or is that something we should try to just get from spott hogg?

You beat me to it. Two trophy ridge sights smashed together. But I will say I love my fix five for hunting. This one spot Hogg is as much as my HHA, my Fix five, and The system by Davis sights combined. I guess if it says Spot Hogg on it……🤷🏻♂️ smh
@@rakkup7572 for 330+ dollars you'd think you'd get basic axis adjustments and not a rip off of another sight. I'll stick to Axcel sights, until Spot Hogg eventually gets it together. Had a Fast Eddie XL and got rid of it pretty quick just didn't like any of it. I got kind of excited when I saw New Spot Hogg sight, but no. They make super durable sights and can do so much better.
clearly haven't shot a react trio pro. not the same at all.
I own a React Pro One. It does what's advertised to an extent. They have limitations based of speed so it doesn't encompass all shooters. There's been a few other issues I've managed with like dull pins, quirky bindings with travel and lost ball bearing that makes it click. I own CBE Trophy Ridge, Axcel, HHA, TruGlo, and Extreme Archery (now defunct). Head and shoulders better are CBE and Axcel for many reasons mainly they have target sights with all 3 axis points. Spot Hogg has potential and Trophy Ridge as well but there are betters out there.
I I used the bottom pin and 3rd indicator to sight in at 20 and then at 60. Is that a problem? I’d assume then I’d just sight in the top pin to 30 in my case with the corresponding sight tape and line it up so that top indicator is pointing at 30yds. Would that work?
I was wondering if you have the conversion kit for the triple stack? And is so can you install it for me as well help sight it in at the bow shop? I have a Fast Eddie

I just got mine today, ordered from you guys, I’ve shot a fast Eddie XL double pin since I started shooting and never heard of the bottom pin being used as the floater. I always just dial my top pin to the yardage I want then shoot. Is there some reasoning behind using the bottom pin as your floater? I’d think you’d want as little view obstruction as possible. Can’t wait to set mine up!
You can use whichever pin you want as the floater, but you'll get more distance using the bottom pin

The MRT rings comes in three sizes including one which is almost flush with the sight housing

@@j.don.hunter3219 awesome, I plan to get a single pin with magnification eventually and make use of the lazer etched scales and dual pointers for multiple setups, with the hot swappable scope mounts. It should carry me for the next 5-10 years.

Very important question here. So I am confused, I want to purchase this sight but there’s something I can’t understand and I haven’t seen anybody explain it yet. Once you set those pins and the pointers to let’s say 20 30 40. When you want to slide out and shoot let’s say 82 yards which pin is your floater?! Bc that kind gap will not be the same once you do any sliding. Your arrow will fall much more between 70 and 80 opposed to 20 and 30 so I don’t see how you could slide it and all three pointers still be accurate. And guys say oh well you just shoot the bottom pin for the floater or whatever pin for your floater how do you know which pin should be your floater or which pin is accurate when being slid Bc like I said that gap won’t correlate at longer distances so how do you know which pin to use as floater I hope someone understands what I’m trying to say and would care to explain to me I’d sure appreciate it.

They've been on order June and we still don't have a ship date from Spot Hogg. Honestly there are much better sights out there for the money.

So does this mean that all three pins are floaters now because the three indicators?
@@Sundevilboarder Typically you will still use the top pin as the floater and also your 20 yard pin and the other as 30 and 40, but as you go further out that changes, but you could also use the bottom pin and indicator as the floater further out, but those distances wouldn’t exactly be 10 yards anymore, but would give you reference points if an animal moves in on you. Watch the video again, Kellen explains it better than me!
@@adamyoder1 Adam what bow do you have your sight on. Just got mine vertical 3 in the mail and it’s on the Hoyt ventum 30 but this is my first time with the spot Hogg. And it doesn’t seem to be lining up properly. Any recommendations?

Mmm I probably wouldn't shoot this as your first sight. I'd look at a good Fixed five pin sight

I bought this site because I love the spot Hogg sites and was excited for the three dots…However upon installation I found that I needed to make every possible adjustment just to get the top pen down to 20 yards… In that configuration my top pen has a maximum distance of only 60 yards… Any suggestions… I have mounted many a spot Hogg site and I’ve never

I almost pulled the trigger on Axcel LANDSLYDE yesterday, glad I didn’t, this is the one to rule them all, and I honestly don’t like carbon bar for hunting, it doesn’t save you any noticeable weight, all it does is double the price, silly buy if you ask me. Axcel should be worried right now.
Honestly I prefer the landslyde....the triple stack is cool but it's crazy heavy and we've had issues getting it far enough left to sight in on the new mathews and hoyt models when the arrow is in center shot.
I'm wondering how much light goes into those fiber-optic wires it doesn't look like it gets too much light from that scope glass at low light it's a must for a light then right

Spott hogg pins are definitely not the brightest on the market but their sights are incredibly durable. It's a give and take sort of thing with them lol.

Blue is way more useless than red. You have to have a light on blue tp see it, day or night. Green is brightest, then red, then yellow.
I compared my new triple stack to my friend's double pin, mine are 3x as bright. Both were Fast Eddie XL.
Single pin. Moving the range indicator lever is all that's needed. More gimmicks.
Listen to the price of that sight. $400.00. Lol.

I set my 3 pins 30 to 50. Do I have to sight in at 20 ? To make the tape work ?
You have to calibrate at 20 but you should be able to zero at 30, I believe.

Good detailed review. Why is there never a blue pin in these type sights. Red is almost useless in very low light unless you have built in added lighting
? what? I'm a pilot and we use mostly RED in the cabin at night which is always very low light.
Blue usually needs uv light is probably why,and yes agree red is hardest to see in low light,we used red in army at night and thats why, because it just barely provides enough light to see, but that was about it, and with it being fiber optic without its own illumination it would make damn near impossible to see in low light,i had red on my sight to begin with and had to order green fiber and re fiber it

Yes
You can pick whatever pin you want to be the floater for any given distance

If your pointer for the pin is at the distance, that's your pin. Any pin can be the floater.
@@Sundevilboarder that's correct. At any given position of the wheel, you'll know the range of all 3 pins. I've had my old hogg father 3 pin set up like this with the double pointer and home made pointer for the 3rd pin.

I have a Trophy vertical 5 pin fixed sight. Easy to use & very inexpensive compared to these adjustable sights. Also, very low weight. Similar to other things in life, the new stuff is overly complex & expensive.
Many many many archers disagree with you. But I appreciate you expressing your opinion. Opinions are like assholes….yours stinks just like everybody else’s.
Each to his own, but I don’t agree that this sight is overly complex. In fact, the built-in flexibility make it adaptable for most hunting situations and a wider variety of yardages. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but remember that many people dissed the automatic transmission when it was first introduced, preferring to shift gears. However, now the vast majority prefer auto trans over manual for good reason. It’s more adaptable and easier to use. I try to be open-minded when new tech is introduced. Will I buy this sight?I don’t know, but I’m inclined to demo one to see if it fits my needs.
Also trophy is made in China.... black gold and spott hogg are not
Trophy Ridge = made in China, lower quality fiber, made of plastic, less adjustable, no micro adjust 2nd and 3rd axis, fixed pins, non modular design where Spot Hogg has interchangeable parts (bases, housings, etc.) I’ll buy anything for my bow made in America before China, but those are just some of the reasons why the Spot Hoggs are worth the extra dough
@@2ndAveScents when I was young and dumb I had a Trophy Ridge on my old Bowtech. Guess what kind of sight didn’t hold up through two seasons? I have a Fast Eddie XL on my new Mathews for a reason.
Seems cool but man, think you can get the same kinda deal out of a black gold 3 pin mountain lite. Less money and less weight.
I finally got the triple stack, I've had the double pin versions for a while now and liked them alot, the Triple Stack seems the perfect sight, (idk why no one else is doing it)but this thing is a behemoth, the housing is huge, it sticks out from the riser 2 more inches and weighs 13.9 oz! The double is 10 ish. The immediate difference felt with that weight that high above the hand is crazy. I had to add 2 oz to my front bar and 3 to the back bar to make the bow ballance right. Sure if you want to hunt with a 15 lb dumbell, go ahead! Very disappointed. Not trying to complain, but i wish i could have read this before buying a almost 400 dollar sight! I replaced with Axcel landslyde with spot hogg scope. Well see how it does over time.
Yeah the more I've messed with it, the less I like it.
$420 for a tommi hog🤔. don’t get me wrong but if that’s the cost can only imagine what a hog father will cost. 😒😒😒
I currently use the accutouch carbon pro which has 1,2, 3 rd axis and by the way carbon parts and pretty light it was about $450.
And please before anyone makes fun of me for saying it’s a light sight, don’t.😅
