I'm looking to upgrade my sight this year and this one is on the top of my list, but torn between the standard or XL. I see S and S Archery offers a custom triple stack Fast Eddie standard and XL and they install the pins to your specification. Obviously at a higher price tag. I like to tinker and would see no issue in swapping the pins but when you say the fin that holds the fiber is thicker than .010", is that to assume the fin is even thicker on the .019" and obstructs the new .010" when looking directly through the scope? If they are the same thickness dimension, would you need to even purchase the fin and just find someone who sells .010" fiber of your liking? How is the fiber held into the OEM fin?...
I know, $23...shut up already. LOL.
As a skinflint that likes to get his $'s worth out of products and been rockin the same sight since 09', I want to cross the I's and dot the T's ya know.
Certainly appreciate DIY upgrades like this. Great video. Part 2 please! 🏹🎯🤘

Hey Nate thanks for watching! Actually if I could go back and do it I would skip the XL. I got XL in case I want to bridgelock it in a few years and it seems XL have little better resell value. I don't feel I am getting the XL benefits on my VXR as I run it pretty close to the riser anyway for long range shooting clearance (I only pull 68# ish).
The S&S archery deal is pretty cool, we love S&S. However, we actually got ours on eders for a pretty low price with the buyer member discount.
Yeah the fin that holds the fiber is just barely thicker than .019. so for .010 it is more noticeable but now that I have been shooting it a lot it is hardly noticeable. I just wish they had the fin more like the UV vertical design where the vertical post was ultra skinny then swelled only around where it holds the fiber.
Switching to .010 has me way more comfortable past 70y. I was shooting 90+ yesterday and the .010 pin can float around inside a pie plate. That is so much better than a big blob over the whole target and makes me feel more relaxed before releasing.
We'll look at having a part 2! Thanks again for your view, let us know if you decide to go with the spot hogg!

Will it throw the sight off when changing pin size?

We have had two guys do this and haven’t noticed it. I believe this is due to the machining of the vertical pin being so straight. Hope that helps! -Kyle
