As a painter/decorator i can really appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into this,an outstanding piece of work and what a transformation!the filling in and patching of the veneer is excellent, brilliant stuff👍
Gorgeous! I thought, when I first saw the before, that this was an ugly piece of cheap junk and no wonder somebody painted it. I was amazed at what was underneath when you removed all that paint. You definitely transformed the ugly duckling into the beautiful swan. I really love this unique chest.
The layer of white paint was like 1/4" thick... crazy! I LOVE the way that you totally cleaned that piece over and over again one step at a time. It turned out just lovely and you really did a wonderful job. I appreciate your attention to detail! Thanks again 👍❤️
Amazing! It was a pleasure looking at you working on this piece. What talent. Learning lots from this and can't wait to learn more. Registered to the furniture squad!!
@FurnitureFlippa thanks for the lesson and the invite. I highly recommend Angie from Transcend Furniture Gallery, Trena from Johns Furniture Repair and Jay from Flipping Drawers to name a few.
Wow! That’s a really beautiful piece. Removing the paint and applying that lovely stain has transformed it and given it a very rich and regal air. Well done! xx
Pretty cool you gave a shout out to Dasher Design. He’s a good one too. Not sure why you don’t have a ton more subscribers bc you’re verrrrry good. Love your work. This was a bute 👍🏼🇺🇸❤️
No idea how you have the will to do all of that scraping, stripping and misc. paint removal, I don’t think I would have had the patience, heh. Amazing work! I love what you’ve done with it ❤
Why would anyone want to paint that dresser. It turned out absolutely awesome. You did an excellent job in restoring it. The video was great n very informative. I do pretty much the same way you did in stripping n using the scrapping tool but I definitely need more practice on veneer work. I don’t do very well with a chisel either more practice on that too. The dresser is really beautiful. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟
Thanks for verifying the amount of paint stripper I'll need for each project. I've been trying my hardest to only need one can- ever 😂 And it isn't working well. Have a great day!
This is 1st time watching a refinishing video. Someone put a free item curbside just as I was walking by. It’s painted white.Turns out to be a vintage Bassett long dresser. I’m a beginner in refinishing and nervous about tackling such a big project. Good news - no damage:chips. It would be gorgeous redone if I could get your results.

Hi Jamie, absolutely gorgeous, I was surprised as to what was hiding underneath all that paint. What province are you in ? I'm in Ontario, four hrs from the capitol going north....I look forward to the next project...Take care...cheers !!! 🍁 🍁
I really appreciate this video! I'm trying to refurbish some second hand furniture and the paint is really thick and I was wondering why there would still be a lot of paint left after stripping with gel. I've been reading and watching videos and this is the first video I encountered to say I will actually be needing to use a lot of gel stripper and I can go over it again, and that I can't let it dry. That definitely saves me a lot of time just wondering what I'm doing wrong. 😂😅 Thank you!
Loved the result. Boy, that was a lot of work but the finished product is spectacular. What sprayer did you use? It looked cordless. Thank you for your videos, they ate inspiring!
When I use paint strippers I put it on one section and when it's ready I put it on the next section and so on. This way you don't have issues with it drying out and you don't have to reapply and waste stripper..
@@MNTNSTARZ80. yes, good call. It really depends on weather for me. In colder months I throw it on everything, wrap it up, and come back the next day. In the summer, I’ll do drawers together, top, and each side separately. Sucks to waste but the strippers today just aren’t as powerful so 2 coats is standard minimum in my recent experience. Thanks for watching!

I never thought of using a wire brush to get the stuck-in -the -grain paint. Genius!!😮
Helps a lot! Just be careful to not scratch up the wood especially on veneers
What a transformation! Absolutely beautiful. Your patience and hard work have not gone unnoticed. What workmanship! 😊
Thank you so much! 😊

NICE! I'm not big fan of the Candlelight stain but it does look great mixed with the Walnut. This piece turned out beautiful.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing, great job !!!!!!!!!!
Paint Stripper. Satisfying and Gross at the Same Time (Anyone for Scrambled Eggs?). Nice Tutorial. Nice Color and a Great Restoration!
Nice work!
Covering the applied stripper with plastc will allow it to work more thoroughly without drying so quickly.
