Holy WOW! I wanted to cry for you just watching the process of getting that paint off. This was such a transformation!!! Solid work….super solid work actually!!!!
I had this happen on some kitchen cabinets. I couldn’t do it after three rounds of strippers. I was in tears. There must’ve been ten layers of paints over the years. My dad finally looked at me and said try a heat gun. He said work slow and carefully. As soon as the paint bubbles remove with the spatula and viola! 😅 It’s tedious as well but better than all that paint stripper.
The sideboard is a sort of colonial/French provincial style popular in the seventies. The mass market paint technique was weird with a sprayed oil based paint and a sort of baking process that literally made a hard shell. The fact you got down to wood is a miracle out of Scripture
As my grandmother would have said..."that took a whole lot of Elbow Grease". Good Lord, I have never seen anyone work as hard at bringing a piece of furniture back from the dead, as you did- Nice Work!
You deserve some kind of an award….seriously I’ve never feel so sorry for a UA-camr before. Good job in sticking it through. I would have given up the first day
No idea how much it was worth, but whatever you end up getting for it, it won't be enough - that was a definite labour of either love or stubbornness, absolutely beautiful restoration.
Wow what a difference. You rescued this piece and changed it from the faux cottage look to something which would grace any high class dinning room. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hi from Cambridge UK. You deserve a medal for hard work, patience, staying power, skill and vision. Did I miss anything? Well done. This piece has been saved from landfill and will give many hours of pleasure to the new owner. Be proud.
That would have broken the best of restorers removing all that paint. You did a fantastic job and you were certainly a worthy contender to the challenge
This was excruciating to watch. I admire your tenacity to continue with this project. In the end no one would know what you started with, absolutely beautiful.
OMG! This series is just getting some awesome trash to treasure saves. Jay spent ages sanding, David ages gluing and filling and you spent ages scraping. What's in the next vid I wonder? 😂
That quarter sawn Oak is Beautiful! I've never understood why anyone would cover that beauty with paint. Thank you for sharing this with us. That was sooo much work, but it was well worth all the time & love that you put into it. Someone will love that beauty for many years to come. Please keep up the good work, stay safe, stay well and know that your work is appreciated.
I give you a lot of credit for sticking with this project, and I didn't think anything good would come of your work until you sanded the top. I could see the possibility then. Good job!
OMG. I would had tossed that piece in the trash after three try’s to remove the paint. lol it turned out beautiful. I think you have the patience of a saint. I hope you realize a hefty profit from the sale. 😊
Ok I admit I cried out when you said paint on the interior…. Then I see the results. Omg you definitely made the right choice. I’m sure this piece was a beauty originally however you’ve kicked it up more than a notch! Well done 👍
You can really see what motivated somebody to buy this when it was new. The original beauty and charm shine through it with your skillful restoration. Well done sir.
You hated that paint so much you didn’t want any trace of it ….I don’t blame you. What in the world was that painted with? What a treasure you ended with after all that hard work. Gorgeous piece. Love watching your videos and your talent.
This has got to be the best one you have done so far. Very thorough and complete right to the end. Absolutely beautiful. I’m thinking I’d pay $600. What a bute 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇺🇸
It's a beautiful piece of furniture. You've done a wonderful job. I'd be proud to own that. That wood is beautiful. Thank you for taking us on this journey.
Your skill and common sense are commendable! You have given new life to a much abused, lovely old girl! Today was the first time your channel was recommended to me, and I subscribed, because you did a few things I have never seen before even though I watch a bunch of people who do what you do. Thank you for sharing this work of art.
It amazes me how much better these antique pieces are jilt than our modern day furniture. Those dove tail joints separated perfectly and will be able to be put together again. That’s craftsmanship!
Next time you come into paint like that. Try sanding it down till the sheen is done then use a gel stripper and it will bubble up. I learned this years ago stripping old panel doors. Old paints seam to need there pours open so the stripper can get in and do its thing. Hope this helps. Good video and great job 😊
Clearly everyone involved knows their trash. But I think you worked the hardest to find your treasure. Any true hockey fan will recognize a great save when they see one. Just a terrific job! I believe that you are the champion my friend. - - bonus points for choice of stain 👍
You did a GREAT job at matching the "patched" pieces. I had an old wood worker friend that showed me how he matched. There is so much more available now. ✌🏻♥️
Everyone of the trash to treasure videos I watch I think 'Oh that the worst one with the best restoration' then I see another one. Your's certainly was the most work at least getting the old finish off. I knew it would look great from the beginning though.
It’s literally criminal the amount of paint including on the inside drawers😱. That paint was insane! 10/10 for not giving up. you did a phenomenal job! So nice to see pieces of furniture history be restored. ❤
I have never seen a piece where it "almost" became impossible to get the old paint off. Kudos to you! You're the "Winner," as far as I'm concerned. Incredible! Carol from California

😮😮 You are awesome 👌 👏 Best restoration I have ever watched!!! Your patience and talent is unbelievable. I would've set that thing alight. What I see is old rubbish you bring to life. You should be really proud 🎉
YOU, in my opinion, are the winner based on the amount of effort you put into removing that paint and repairing all that veneer!! Everyone on here does truly amazing restorations on these sad, junk 'Cinderella' pieces, but I just watched you do it with TONS of pure sweat & elbow grease!! Your new subscriber from Texas!! 🤠🤠
The way you painted on grain patterns to disguise the veneer patches was really inventive. It looks great! Redone, you can see what a great piece it is!
Your patience is what that piece needed. It was a SPECTACULAR restoration. My mouth literally dropped open at the reveal. That sideboard is a treasure that was hidden from view. How could anyone paint it? Thank you for rescuing these pieces that time forgot.
Your patience really paid off. It is magnificent wow! You are very skilled. You made this old diamond shine bright again. Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing!
We absolutely love watching you! Your humor is wonderful! We recognize that you are extremely talented in this profession! The way you compile your videos is delightful! Thanks so much for being you and posting them!

Holy WOW! I wanted to cry for you just watching the process of getting that paint off. This was such a transformation!!! Solid work….super solid work actually!!!!
Thanks Amy! I wanted to cry a bit too during the process 😂 But its always worth it in the end, especially when the wood grain looks like that!
I had this happen on some kitchen cabinets. I couldn’t do it after three rounds of strippers. I was in tears. There must’ve been ten layers of paints over the years.
