Thanks again for this got to meet Trey and chat about the Tampa scene back in the days in Denver this tour such a cool guy and one of the finest guitar players ever!
Trey is my guitar hero and the reason I play guitar.Much of respect to him to do a Tour with back problems. I'm worried about his health but he is a guardian of the ancient ones and I'm sure the gods will help him to get well To me the collapsing on stage was a wake up call from Cthulhu to take care of himself. I mean look what all happened on that Tour.A Tornado crashed a roof and someone died, the van of Revocation broke down and later Dave of Revocation broke his wrist and then Trey collapsed on stage. All these things seems to me like a sign from the Universe to stop and take a break and recover. Anyway ,I hope he is doing well love him.
I met Trey at Aces Records in Tampa back in day. I was a kid and he was so personable and kind to me. He talked to me about the living continuum and truly expanded my horizons beyond music. He was a true inspiration to me on many levels. I will always love and appreciate him for that. Here’s to one of the last true legends of the art of death metal, he is a treasure…
Awesome to see this clip. Extremely rare to see an interview with Trey. I'm a bass player, and this guy makes me want to be a guitar player. If that's not a compliment, I don't know what is.
Hails to Azagthoth. Metal means being pure, sincere, honest, and straight to the point. Enjoy drinking and devil's music! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 excellent interview! 👌
Most metalheads ive known are narcissists and full of shit ppl. Trey may not sound like a diva and stuff. But the pure, sincere, honest and straight to the point traits on metalheads isnt a fact. And i ve been in many countries and knew tons of them. They're resented hot heads without depth, devoid of sensebility at best. Only time most of them are straight to the point is to criticize ppl they don't understand since they can't do fair measure of things in life themselves accurately. It's a shame, but it's metal music that s interesting and mesmerizing and fantastic, but life isnt such things, and ppl in general arent like that at all past their external appearence.

What an awesome interview. Down to Earth yet not worried about pleasing or winning favor with others in regards to his music. Inquisition (Burn with Me), Where the Slime Live, Summoning Redemption, Dawn of the Angry, Maze of Torment etc. So many badass and memorable riffs!
He was, is, and will ever be my favourite guitar player and composer. When listening to his music you enter a different world. And this feeling carries you through everyday life. What‘s more is that he enormously fueled my own style of playing guitar. Stay healthy, never stop…
I read years ago that Eddie's his biggest influence. Always seemed a reclusive character so to see him here.. And he feels insecure at the end..He came off so cool indeed. A game changer of a guitarist and to tell of some of his guitar playing secrets. And underneath the strings?!! Fucking with the guitar and not caring what anyone thought I thought of Einsturzende Neubauten. With how all rules are thrown out the window. Proper! Inspiring.
I am surprised he is still standing. He was always my no.1 death metal, guitar superhero. I spoke to him twice and every single time he was smashed 😂... ...anyway it looks like he is indestructible.

I prob can’t argue ovulate the best but if you read this trey if I knew you and had a close enough bond , id say many aren’t immaturely judging you here on the video and we don’t care either we are inspired by you’re art and it will continue to have an influence on something new and great as it already has. You’re very much iconic and it’s a shame the mainstream can’t relate to where metal comes from internally to enjoy it metal or else they’d have hold that belief but any musician can see it. For whatever it may be worth to you, we know you’re abilities …that’s cemented for a lot of us. You give some of us daily medicine prob the rest of our lives even at lowest points . Hope you continue on and be as healthy as possible.

Im watching this after seeing that he collapsed (I think had a seizure) on stage...Theres something off neurologically...Yeah he may do drugs...but I think the issue goes deeper than that...I'm picking up Schizophrenic Vibes...borderline dementia.
Edit - Kind of gives of meth vibes like hes been up for days and needs REM sleep...that could explain the events on stage and neurological issues showing.
Thanks again for this got to meet Trey and chat about the Tampa scene back in the days in Denver this tour such a cool guy and one of the finest guitar players ever!
Trey is definately one of a kind and Morbid Angel is a huge part of my music listening life! Always good for a chat and super cool dude
This dude is one of my biggest guitar playing influences. The experimental stuff he's done on those early records is epic.
Trey is my guitar hero and the reason I play guitar.Much of respect to him to do a Tour with back problems. I'm worried about his health but he is a guardian of the ancient ones and I'm sure the gods will help him to get well
To me the collapsing on stage was a wake up call from Cthulhu to take care of himself.
Trey telling it like it is!! Hornz and Hailz to the mighty Morbid Angel!! 🤘🤘
he is so drunk and so honest :) i love him :)
He even said it at 7:35? 🤷♂️
@@fmbighair anyway trey has a problem with himself ,he's a bit lost as you can see. if he doesn't do something he'll screw up in the morgue he's a genius but his head is messed up now. He passed out on stage a few days ago...
🔥"Blessed are the Sick"🔥........ You can’t live without this album!!!!!
Sandoval, Brunelle, Vincent and TREY AZAGTHOTH,.......... Geniuses who melted into one body and created the Biggest Band in the history of Death Metal......... 🔥MORBID ANGEL🔥
Thanks so much for your video!
Trey deserves all his flowers. All the best to this fucking legend.
Hope he is doing ok. Legend. Worried about him. Just looking at his arms you know what he is up too. Get better man!!🙏🏼
What kind of drugs is this guy on?
Truly sad to see him like this..
Sad to say but you're right ' hope he saves himself
I love this! I'm not a big MA fan but I respect what he has done and I think it's cool that he is giving the truth here even if it's assisted a bit by a few beers.
Trey Azagthoth Master of GUITARGOD 🎸🎸. Covenant, Blessed are the Sick is my FAVORITE album..
My Legend/Master of Death Metal
👉 DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, OBITUARY, BOLT THROWER, DEICIDE 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Very cool to hear him talk about that below the string technique. Could listen to him talk technique for hours
He was here in Pittsburgh last week and we got to spend as much time as we could with him!!!!! We took him down to the local 7-Eleven and went for a nice ride in my tour van before he had to go on stage….. their set was absolutely flawless and perfect and everything sounded absolutely amazing and in time!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🫡❤️🇺🇸
Hell yeah! That's awesome 🤘
I agree SO MUCH with Trey and have always agreed with inner strength and self validation.
Grey Azagthoth
That's the way to go. F*ck dying your hair.
@@WALDENSOFTWARE i agree
...is a Greyt Guitarist
He's sixty fucking years old
Would you rather he dye his hair like some goth douche?
This is awesome. Thx for making this happen and posting 🤘🏾👿🤎
Proper! Inspiring.
Legendary shredder. Insane solos!
He seems like a cool guy, I'm glad I found this. I just saw them in Philly and he didn't crack a smile the whole night.. but I sure do love his work.
Trey is the GREATEST, most original and creative death metal guitarist FULL STOP.
I am surprised he is still standing. He was always my no.1 death metal, guitar superhero. I spoke to him twice and every single time he was smashed 😂... ...anyway it looks like he is indestructible.
He kinda sounded like he already had a few. NO judgements at all just an observation.
Well... this didn't age well
@@b.entranceperium holy shit, i was just about to say "man, he's hammered in this video." Then I saw your comment and...yep, this didn't age well lol
I sense lots of booze...a bit fidgety from speed. Guy is a trooper and an icon, but he's absolutely lit here..no doubt.
@@cbhamm5676 ☝️☝️☝️
Shocking ! I hope he's fine. Morbid Angel was an outstanding band for me although i am not a Death Metal fan. All the best to you ,Trey!
Trey IS a Morbid Angel in the flesh.........Legend🤘🏼
He seems chill and I really like his guitar work! The finger under the string is an interesting technique ha!
Trey was a brilliant experimental artist and avant-garde composer, and he has his legacy. Sad to see him so deteriorated. But his legacy remains untouched.
8:05 he said it right there :) i mean ive met many so called 'deteriorated' ppl whos quickness and intelligence still surpass all the learned idiots walking around...appearances can be deceiving
I met Trey after the FFTTF gig back in the 90’s in Berlin Germany, i was a young guy and happy to talk to him
I’d love to meet him. His playing is so unique.
Each word a lesson to learn. Legend. Period.
I don’t are how he talks or what he says, this man is a LEGEND!!
I talked to him for 2 hours in Chicago, he's very social and likes to talk to his fans.
😮 did you record the Conversation would be great if you could upload.
I'd love to meet this man and just get hammered and jam. What a fucking legend. We love ya Trey
The new generation needs a reminder that metal is supposed to be about not giving a damn about trends and what people think. That sentiment is getting lost.
I finally got to meet Trey for the first time I've been a fan of morbid angel since 1989 the coolest dude you ever want to meet he signed 4 of my CDs I wanted to chat with him more but I looked behind me here comes a huge crowd running towards him I was like shit time was cut real short sorry trey
Wow. When you get to meet one of your heroes and get way more than expected. Cool him hanging out.
You're exactly right, dream type shit here 🤘
Thanks for sharing this video. Hope to see the band in Singapore again someday.
One of the most Iconic guitarrist and composer of our time.
Nobody's making fun of Trey, the GOAT. I hope he gets his back issues straighted out.
He's a legend, nothing but pure respect for him. One of the most inspiring guitar players for me.
@@JMD333 He's a living legend for sure. I've been lucky enough to meet him a couple times, he's a great dude that appreciates his fans. He's a rare person.
Maybe my video triggered him lol
@@666ssn666 He's been through enough shit to be triggered by a video.
I met Trey shortly after this interview was conducted. Such a nice guy.
Morbid Angel rules. They are the greatest Death Metal band out there in my opinion.
Keeping it Rock N' Roll, Trey! What a legend!
man Trey this is just a great video this is profound wisdom for guys like me or maybe just me HAIL TREY AZAGTHOTH
Seen him about a week or so ago. Trey still shreds, but yeah he's looking rough these days and sometimes seems out of it, I hope he's alright.
He's always been kinda out of it though haha
He has Asperger's Syndrome so that might shed some light on things for ya.
@@Metal_Vault no come on
@@Metal_Vault I've been an admirer of Trey's playing for 20+ years; I'm wearing a FFttF tshirt in my sophomore high school yearbook photo. But watching this clip, the guy is obviously abusing alcohol + hard and/or prescription drugs. He's slurring his speech, he's dehydrated (look at the spittle in the corners of his mouth), his arms are covered in cuts and sores, his center of balance is off, and dude is hunched in with twitchy hands which is consistent with chronic overuse of substances that warp the dopaminergic system.
It's his life, I'm not passing judgment, but this is definitely not "Asperger's Syndrome"
@@Metal_Vault and he prefers to drink rather than take a bunch of medications for it. I have to respect him for that. And after understanding that, things should make a lot more sense to the people accusing him of drug abuse, which is definitely not the case (as far as Trey has said. I'm no doctor nor do I spend extensive time with him)
Don't drift off Trey, come back to us man! You're loved by many!!
Awesome interview! Cool just you guys hanging with him keeping it real not some standard boring interview.
Much appreciated, just huge fans of the guy, was never intended to be a "interview" of sorts, but I saw him playing paradigms warped and had to know what was happening.🤘
Got to meet him after the show in LA, though he was ready to leave to his car it seemed, got a photo and chatted quickly tho he’s awesome
Damn....... i never knew..... regrettably never been to a show but i love MA's music and Treys guitar playing! Coming from an addict in recovery, i hope he can put it down whatever hes doing. Hes too good to waste away like that
Half-drunk Trey interview still better to me than any other. If that gets him to do interview, I'll take it. Pure Legend. Love the new "tattoo" btw.
Trey is fkn amazing and redirected Death Metal in the correct direction. Guy created ALL of the best songs.
Thanks for this. Love Treys art.
Holy shieeet cuh , Trey just giving out gems and after Eddie Van Halen he is the greatest guitar player
Trey and Hendrix are my favourite guitarists of all time.
I wish he’d stop too.
Shit kinda bummed me out seeing him like this in person. There’s a lot of trauma at the root of it. Hope something comes about his life steering him toward getting better ❤
Drinking that much almost into his 60s, he must have some pretty serious trauma that he has not dealt with, I hope he can see that it’s not too late to confront it
I totally remember him being healthy and spiritual.. this interview is kind of shocking to me.. love this dude
They really are lucky to be able to talk with a legend. I hope he continues to give us all his mastery on the guitar
Trey basically invented Blackened/Death metal. At his absolute best, he's The G.O.A.T. At his lesser best, he's a struggling genius. Dude is DM royalty period
Very well said👍
His ability to play his solos live like he does on the albums is amazing, while they're not carbon copies, he's able to hit every dive, squeal, and doom lava everytime! It was one my favorite shows simply getting to watch him play so close, along with the amazing experience hanging out with him. Life changer meeting this legend.
Blackened death? Nah, death metal, yes..
@@selvmortsydd Nah. He didn't invent death metal. Blackened death.
@@zacharyseibert4526 Morbid angel never was and never will be blackened death kid ...
Please get the help to get clean trey. If I can do it, u can do it too. First time I saw blessed are the sick, u became one of my biggest influences.
