I don't understand why people always forget northern Germany. We are Nordic too brother.. The ancestors of the Vikings are literally the Germanic people from North Germany.
The germanic people is actually the descendents of Scandinavians. Before Germanics wandered out of Scandinavia. It was mostly Celtic in what would be known as Germania.
The fact that you consider northern Germany as Nordic due to the ancestors of the Vikings is unironically one of the reasons we wouldn't consider your Scandinavian. As Kraut pointed out in his video "How Denmark invented Social Democracy", one of the differences between the Nordics and Germany is how we consider the idea of a "folk/volk". Certainly here in Sweden, and I presume the rest of the Nordics; "Folk" is a cultural and public body. In Germany; "Volk" is a biological entity. Reason I point this out, is that we Nordics would never think of distant biological ancestry as the reason for something being Nordic or not. We would look at the languages, our historical development, our common cultural practices, our similar political structures, our flags, and way of life to really tell what is Nordic or not. Northern Germany just isn't what we would consider Nordic. Heck, we wouldn't really consider it as any separate part of Germany herself. And I say that as a Swede who's aware that our language was heavily influenced by Hanseatic low German that isn't as mirrored by Danish or Norwegian.
Sami people migrated to Scandinavia 1700-2000 yeras ago , so many thousands years after the Scandinavians arrived. however they had lived up North isolated more or less for a long time

Like I identify my ethnicity as Scandinavian, My cultural heritage as Nordic and my nationality as Danish.

Greetings from Viborg. Margrethe, the first 's choice of Capitol City.
10 seconds in and more misconceptions, errors and wrongs than in an American presidential debate.
Found in recommended. I appreciate the detail, and use of images. I would practice your speaking a bit more, as it sounds disjointed between words.
Słyhacz, że nie masz już tak polskiego akcentu jak dwa lata temu :)
