    Limited is my favourite format next to Commander. A couple friends and i will share a draft booster box, each gets 9 Boosters and we will build decks from that. Only those cards you open in those boosters are allowed. Basically Sealed with a greater cardpool. The kicker is, once a new set comes out, we'll share another box. And add those cards to our existing collection. So we build up more and more without having to chase rares and mythics. Just the cards we add each set. Kinda like schoolyard magic. No online sellers, not card shops, just the stuff you pull.

    1) A 20 minute primer on a limited format? ESSENTIAL viewing for anyone new to drafting or who’s just excited for the new set.
    2) This video has a long shelf life due to people who need refreshers in flashback drafts on MTGO or Arena.
    3) One of my favorite parts of Prof’s videos are the references to other content to further information and letting people know of the three best resources on limited is going to help so many people.
    3) I’m looking forward to more of these (if it’s viable) especially for non standard sets which has a limited amount of content that can be found.
    Limited is my favorite way to play and this is a great way for more people to enjoy it. I love it.

    Just got home from my LGS prerelease event. We had 50 people show up for the sealed tournament. Started at 6PM for deck building, match 1 at 7PM and prizes went out just after 12:30AM What an amazing night, seeing so many people just having fun and talking while playing cards. Your video helped me out so much as I haven't done a real sealed or draft tourney in almost 20 years. Thanks for making amazing videos that have helped me find my love of the game again after being away from it for so long!

    Findings from prerelease; Was on Esper good stuff, got compleated Jace, black Dominus, Orzhov uncommon. Some toxic white and black stuff, some proliferation. Relativey high mana curve (5 5 drops)
    Argentum Masticore was a killer: Ramp into it with Phyrexian Atlas and boom - My whole hand is suddenly removal. The higher curve reallly helped with this and this beater won me 2 rounds.
    Good pacifism (tPlanar Disruption; also stops activated abilities and planeswalkers - prof mentioned it in his pauper video) was also amazing. Managed to put it on opponent's "Geth, Thane of Contracts" twice, but also had my Jace shut down by it.
    If this prerelease is any indicator, this is going to be a fun set.

    Have done 3 sealed events so far, they've been very fun. It's faster than other recent sets, the toxic/life total interaction adds some interesting choices in combat and blocking but honestly poison feels less important than actual damage, though i have both won and lost about 9/40 games with poison.
    It's a very "bomb" heavy format though even stuff like the 5 cmc haste, toxicc 3, 4/4 green beater can close a game out fast. The best synergy feels like corrupted so getting to or preventing having 3 poison counters is another facet of gameplay.
    Green feels incredibly strong and a good green/x deck seems to perform much better than other pairs, not that other colours can't compete but some of the green stuff is bonkers. Really enjoyed orzhov, simic was a banger, going 3 colours was possible with good fixing but my attempt at sultai had some none games.
    Looking forward to draft next fnm, going to be interesting to see how the picks go when people are chasing green.

    @markbrierley6367 Рік тому

    Kudos on shouting out the other limited podcasts out there. That's a great way for people to level up from their intro drafts which draw them in with this video.
    Kaya being a slam dunk p1p1? I doubt it. She's 7 mana which is a big hurdle in draft outside of green and she has 4 pips so she's absolutely not splashable and she doesn't mesh with her color pair at all which looks to be a very low curve aggro strategy leaning on poison.

  • @twolf7448
    @twolf7448 Рік тому

    i played in LGS pre-release on friday, everyone was running toxic + proliferate, i surprisingly did not draw anything with toxic (ok, 4 cards, 3 creatures, and sorcery that made a creature but all in the wrong colors to go with anything else). So, i ended up doing Gruul Oil counters ... 5 rares, 1 uncommon, everything else was common. went 4 and 1 and only lost 1 round of a match to poison. Having said that, my rares consisted of Conduit of Worlds, Green sun's twilight, thun, koth, lukka =x and the common tapped lands (the spheres) were amazing for card draw. I did manage to get 3 red and 1 green to have in the deck, so i always had at least one i could sac out to draw a card when had enough mana, and getting the conduit as my promo well, it was good synergy.

    The only thing that’s kind of a bummer about Sword of Forge and Frontier is that a bunch of the equipment in this set is red and it will fall off if you attempt to stack this Sword on top. I was honestly expecting the blue/black Sword in this set for that reason. It even could have been called the Sword of Oil and Water, to echo the old Swords’ names and tie in with Phyrexia.

  • @sbrevoltuion5
    @sbrevoltuion5 Рік тому

    When prof talked about the sword it made something click, you want lots of creatures in these decks, preventing your opponent from getting toxic early is huge
