I got damn lucky, spent about 35 - 38 dollars and got about 100 or more dollars in cards that I will play in almost all of my decks

My mom and I are going to day 2 of a local game shop's 3-day prerelease event today! It's our first time at an event like this. We got to see a bunch of other players playing and having fun last night. I managed to snag the last Fae Dominion deck the shop had and each of us got a set pack before we left.
I've only been to a single Magic event before, back in July of last year, which was a draft for the Baldur's Gate set, I believe? And this Sunday I'll be going to a sealed prerelease for this set and I'm excited but nervous! Getting to watch this video certainly is helpful, and I'll probably have to watch your other video on building a sealed deck, too!

I played a kind of Grixis Midrange type of Deck at the Prerelease, and although I played 2-3, I had a lot of fun.
Prerelease is and will propably always be one of my favourite Events when it comes to MtG, it's small scale, competetive but in a fun way and I get to meet new people.
If you get the Chance, go to Prereleases, even though a lot of things about MtG changed in the last few years, I had as much fun today at the Wilds of Eldraine Prerelease as I had years ago at my first.
Got a prerelease in 18.5 hours. Cant wait. Got a set box of the set and im definitely not disappointed. Thanks for the guide

I watch these videos. Every time I go to a pre-release event, knowing the sign post UnCommons helps me so much with the deck building. I often end up in three colors, but knowing this makes it so much more fun.

Pre-Released yesterday and had a great time, though, like LOTR, my deck ended up never using the set mechanics.
Still, using the 2R '+2/0' pump common won me a lot of games, swinging in with 3/1 tokens and menace/fly-ing bodies.
I also played someone who opened 2 Bitter Blossoms & an Omniscience.

When it comes to Enchanting Tales, I think Red (specially Rakdos) has the best for Limited. Goblin Bombardment, Raid Bombardment, Impact Tremors and Shared Animosity are both amazing for the Rat Synergy and low enough in rarity that it can be feasibly drafted

dude i love your videos, but something about inotation where you like emphasize some words makes it hard for me to watch, but honestly I think thats what makes everyone else enjoy it so much, either way fantastic content and thanks for always being there for the community
Prof coming in smoking, hot with a wonderful and intuitive video. Love the all the help you push out for the experienced players, and especially for newer players like myself!
I would suggest to combine gruul and simic when drafting. The goal are basically the same and there plenty green fixing.

Candy Trail is my favourite common from this set, reminds me of Brainstone except it's Preordain and you get the scry on ETB, solid cantrip for limited!

i did the prerelease today and got the Goose Mother, Beseech the Mirror, and Songs of Totentanz
Moonshaker Calvary seems like fun to put into a modern deck based around Mirror box, Multiple Mondrak Glory Dominus, and Multiple Myrel, Shield of Argive. With Altar of Phyrexia, and Just in case Altar of Dementia.

i would properly try the new lgs for pre realse but they sold every commander masters edh precon for 183 dollars. so gonna respectfully go to another city and try and support that store instead
Wait what?! That's...that is not ok. Supporting an LGS is one thing but if that LGS is actively ripping off their community, I 100% support your decision to try another. I had one LGS (they are closed now) who's owner would constantly bug me every minute if I knew what I wanted when looking around and they were clearly annoyed I was "taking too long". Like geez, thanks for providing a welcoming atmosphere, it's not like some of us have social anxiety/decision paralysis

I can't get to understand Ashiok Anywyay. The static ability can't work here, so what's the line? Turn5 create the nightmares, and then get value by drawing? I mean it's good but, doesn't sound as bomb as say, that mythic dragon that lets you chain into a 4drop and immediately deal 6 in the air.
Maybe it's just a slower yet very good card and I'm not good at evaluating it
On second thought, I understand that there's little pw removal, and at turn5 with 5 or 6 loyalty, it's very resilient.
Still, it takes some time rather than outright close the game, right? Incremental value by drawing the extra card, maybe ending up decking the oppo, but I guess the point is, gumming up the board with the nightmares that can just grow and grow.
I kinda see the point now, but still unexciting to me as a card/strategy

With Adventure Cards, when they go to the 'Adventure Exile Pile' and can be 'played at any time', do they then LEAVE the 'Exile' pile and go back onto the battlefield? If so, can you then do an Adventure again and it'll go back to the Adventure Exile Pile once more, and you can keep bouncing it back and forth between battlefield and 'Adventure Exile Pile'?
Or does it permanently remain in the 'Adventure Exile Pile', but you can always cast the far-right hand page (each time for it's mana-cost using the top-right mana symbols) for the rest of the game and it remains in 'Adventure Exile Pile'?

One thing got me confused, why is destroying tapped creature at instand speed considered bad in limited? Most people attack with their creatures don't they, and that just makes it an unconditional removal when they attack. I don't get why it would be considered bad.
Hey Prof, great vid and a good opportunity to ask/suggest a future video. When making a 40 card deck, how do you cull it down to 40 cards. I've been playing sealed for years and this part still gives me and many newer players trouble. how do you work all the great cards you opened down to 23. knowing that each card more than that eats into the probability of hitting your bomb? how do you overcome the magical Christmas thinking of 3-for-1ing your opponent with this sick combat trick that synergizes with your deck so well, or just one more solid creature to fill your curve annndd that bit for a cheapy color fixer that you rationalize because it replaces itself. and so on until youve got 35 must haves, but dilute further to insure proper land ratios and boom, 56 card sealed deck.
Came back from my 1st prerelease yesterday and got rolled by faerie tribal since the deck contains nothing but flyers. its really hard to deal with. Especially since me opponent pull Talion The Kindly Lord as well. Most of my other matches went a lot better ending the day on a 2W/2L/0D

I find myself continuing to play in these events despite not having a single enjoyable experience, I dunno if it's going in blind that's doing that to me or just that the format isn't for me but here we go again 😅
i can only recommend reading up on limited deckbuilding in general, like manacurve and creature/non creature ratio, helped me a ton :)
I can report back that this was the first time I actually felt confident in my builds and didn't just go 0-3! The guide actually came thru for me and ran Grixis rats to win 3-1 and scooped up 9 prize packs! Thanks Prof.!
I would go to pre-release tonight, but got a birthday party to go to, and the LGS I go to is probably canceling theirs because they got burgled.
