- Balatro Part 17 - and this was pre-buff too. With Lucky Cat being buffed, this build could've gone to the moon. As it was, it was an experiment to see how high of a multiplier I could get on this lucky cat, and I think that went well.

I don't think I've ever lost a run when I had a first shop Vagabond.
I have lost every run that i get an early vagabond 😅 idk something about the playstyle does not click for me. I know it's good but i do such a bad job managing what little economy i can get that i end up falling behind anyways and/or losing to a nasty boss.
@@mononautgold cards are key to vagabond, you can use them to earn money at the end of the round plus they activate before interest, so with enough gold cards, you can make a fair amount of money that you can then spend at the shop
Playstyle certainty isn't for everyone, though
winning against a vagabond player is so annoying

Burglar was basically a +10 mult and +$3 each round for pretty much the whole game.
I comment this and I mean no harm or negativity by this. I love just hearing Tyler yapping and just randomly rambling on. He is good at it and it's just fun to listen to

The update will probably help seeing that magician will turn 2 cards lucky instead of just 1, so more opportunities to draw lucky cards in general

I can't help feel like High Card and Lucky Cat are a bit anti-synergistic - the number of times you settled for playing a hand with just one or two lucky cards instead of eg. tuning your deck to playing flushes might have given you more chances to get lucky? I think maybe commiting to that hand type was a bit early, but good win regardless!
Probably true, but high card was a nice fallback and allowed for a lot of flexibility

And Slay the Spire's ascensions, and Risk of Rain 2's Eclipses, and Crab Champions True Nightmare, and Gunfire Reborn's Reincarnations, and dozens if not hundreds more.
It's a staple roguelike mechanic.

This isn’t really a progression form I like, if you have plenty of content, this isn’t something you need to add, if you don’t have enough, add something more interesting and fun than the absolute crawl that is going through these difficulty climbs, and if you need more difficulty, add an optional hard mode without anything locked behind it.
@@RainMarrlen i mean it's just there to be an excuse for you to play the same deck over and over. if stakes weren't there, then the only reason to play a deck after winning would be for when you just feel like it. the stakes give you more to do with one deck
It sounds insane that they buffed Lucky build in the privatebranch. I always thought it's always worth to proc 20$ just once in the whole run, now it's easier and better by miles 😅
They sure did! Not only did they buff Lucky Cat up to .25, but Magician can convert two cards instead of one.

Ironically this run might not have been possible and so much stronger at the same time in the new patch, with the vagabond nerf and lucky buffs

loving all of the Balatro videos lately. Tyler must really enjoy this game.
one thing I kinda wish the game allowed is just, stacking card "types" on a given card
so like, lucky *and* mult *and* bonus on a single card for example.
basically allowing combos of lucky, glass, wildcard (where it's any suit), multiplier, and bonus
well i think if it was it would be too busted in some cases, with only allowing one enhancement per card it makes you think a little more about replacing enhancements and stuff

Technically, Star does work on Stone; whatever it'll be with Stone is removed (Vampire, making it gold, etc.) will not be a diamond.
At 29:33 you know that without the right joker or voucher you can’t get duplicate tarots either. So if you didn’t use that sun it wouldn’t have been in your 2nd arcana pack. That’s why sometimes you’ll reroll to a shop with dead tarots/planets before you buy a pack

At 32:23 I don't see why you wouldn't play the two cards drawn face down, they both could have been lucky cards. You'd also win either way.

Lucky cats so extremely situationally good. Most of the time pretty underpowered but one time i had 2 of them at 49X

Personally, if I got this run, once Lucky Cat got to around 2.6x mult, I'd probably keep it to the far right and just keep winning blinds, hoping to instead build Fortune Teller and not Lucky Cat, as 2.6x mult is already SO O.P.!
A little sad that Tyler played this before the patch where The Magician makes 2 Lucky Cards and Vagabond works on $4 or less.
