- Balatro Part 12 - my best run so far, but I was expecting to only have four jokers. Pretty wild that I ended up with eleven. Enjoy seeing my best hand yet!

honestly it really isn't all that brutal, imo painted is one of the strongest decks in the game, I'm still working on beating purple stake but +2 hand size is actually rediculously good and means the deck can go for way more high value hand types and earn more money in the early game by consequence
@@VivBrodockyeah, the best thing you can get from a single joker with no downsides is +1 hand size so it’s basically just starting with an upgraded joker.

@@DagoDuck To add on what you're saying, roguelikes like Balatro are also better to watch with little to no cuts because of the nature of how the games work, meaning he can get a lot more content out of it with less effort without sacrificing any quality.
It's a pretty smart strategy. He can stream which is itself content, and then use the footage for one or maybe even multiple videos. One game session, multiple days of content.

For the record, The Idol (tiki head jpker) chooses a random card IN YOUR DECK. It's incredible if you can manage to force your deck to be comprised of exactly 1 kind of card (like if I had, say, 45 kings of hearts and nothing else, it will ALWAYS say ×2 for KoH)

Some helpful number for the initial small blind:
Straight flush and 4oak - always wins
Full House: You need to score at least 35 points to win in a single turn. 10/10/5/5/5 works, and 8/8/8/7/7 works too.
Flush: You need at least 40 points to one-turn it.
Straight: You need at least 47 points to one-turn it, (Q-8 straight is the minimum.)
Anything else won’t get you through in one turn.
Endless in this game is actually fun and it jumps up quite quickly as to not last forever.
But I want it to last forever, otherwise it's not endless!
Seriously though, sometimes I just want to keep going and see how crazy I can make things. Hitting a hard wall after just 3-4 more stages kind of sucks.

I just got the game and on my second game I went full flush synergy. Basically I hit 2 heart rocks unlimited money/taro cards. I only had buffed heart cards at end giving me over 10 mill per flush.
Money mono heart with tons of Jupiter's is kinda unbeatable.

It has an extra second to give you enough time to start whatever you will be doing after starting the timer.

The editors deserve cred for one thing in particular according to me: Extending the time we get to read what the cards do. I always find myself pausing the vods so this was great
"1 thing in particular" I do agree that it's a cool thing they do, but it's definitely not the only thing that makes them great. In puzzle games they do a great job of displaying what tyler is trying to explain, the comments they add to things tyler said are pretty funny, and in general they're just good at their job. Show them some respect

Funnily enough, since four of a kind ended up being better than five of a kind, stone cards might have been decent as a fifth extra.

Bc this game doesn't really require editing. So if it doesn't require editing... then why waste the time and effort on editing when it's not necessary...
@@Bama_Boy the editing that's helpful is when you make the descriptions of a joker or card linger on the screen for an extra couple seconds. It's nice when you're new to the game and are still getting familiar with cards
@@Benw8888 I understand bc I'm still new to the game. But that's why I pause it if I need to. So then I solve my own issue.
I'd love for this game to have a mode where the boss debuff stays until the end of the run, so you can just build up crazy insane debuffs from bosses and see how far you get.

the green joker does not go below 0 mult so even if you discard max and win in one hand it will give +1 mult on that hand
its still kind of bad though

11:13 I have Balatro on my Nintendo Switch, and in that version of the game, poker hands can go down to level 0.
But I guess it doesn't do that on the PC version. Interesting.
How long ago did you test it? There was an update shortly after release that changed it so they cant go down to level 0. Due to the age rating issues balatro was smitten temporarily from the switch store. Once that issue was solved my switch version had an update. Not sure if the update changed this or if it was a different update but that may have been why.

@NazmaAlam-wx8xb It does copy directly to its right. @tb3099 is wrong, moving Yorick to the right would be a total misplay. Optimal joker placement is addition jokers (in any order) then multiplication jokers (in any order), and Yorick had +10 mult attached to it, so it needed to be before the other multiplication jokers.
So my ape brain thinks "bigger number has to be later".
But when it comes to X multiplication it doesn't matter.
40x2x2x2x5x5 is the same thing as 40x5x5x2x2x2 (8000), so at that point having a +10 earlier makes more sense.

If a joker says it works if a hand type played contains a type of hand, that is different than saying it needs that hand to be played. Like, if it needs to contain a three of a kind, then four of a kind, five of a kind, full house, and all that would also trigger the joker.
My best high score was achieved with 13 jokers total. it's not too hard to get there with the anaglyph deck, but the jokers were not really that good. You keep them because they are negative so you might as well, but I always wondered what could happen if I pulled some good ones that actually synergized
Green Joker is only dumb until you get a good pair run going, fwiw...
I find it a little odd that Tyler doesn't go for planet cards in the slightest, they are very powerful if you're focusing on a specific hand.
