Your pineapple was cut beautifully! Just like we do in Malaysia where we grow lots and lots of it, but we still want to get the maximum amount of fruit, so we slice it the same way to get full enjoyment from it.
PS: the bits from the "eyes" from the pineapple and the cores can be saved for juicing... I make a delicious spritzer with soda water and it's amazing that from a smallish pineapple, around 3/4 cup of juice can be extracted from these bits that are usually discarded.
