"When your villain over shadows your hero you have a problem."
The Dark Knight, "Hold my coat!"
Considering the recent Zoom call leaks I have a feeling that America Chavez was played as a likeable charcter in this movie just to gently appease the fans who were dreading and who knew how bad she was in the comics. Expect her next outing to be ratcheted up to the next level which will be more than likely full on goddawful.
Yip... she's only a kid now
Give it a few years
I hope this Time it will Be different
Baiting and switching is the standard operating procedure for the M-SHE-U.
So if she had been super-OP they're woke, and if she isn't super-OP they're still woke?
I get the once bitten, twice shy feeling, but I'm more ready to give them a chance to not go full comic-tard on this one. I'm with Thorias here.
@@Spanner1971B Well, according to the recent reshoots info from ME it now sounds like she was the insufferable shit we know from the comics and it was so bad Raimi had to reshoot 85% of the movie. Full blame rests on Ultra-Woke Victoria Alonzo as she is overseeing Marvel Productions on behalf of Feige. Which sounds like a nightmare and things will get worse tbh.
For the “top tier wizard” who leans spells and gains power over time, Dr Strange sure does feel weaker doesn’t he? Like I get that the time stone is gone, but the guy literally pulled al the Spider-Man villains over from another universe by accident. Now he feels kinduv useless. He didn’t even beat the bad guy.
He got to do some pretty cool stuff and I'd argue he's the one who indirectly defeated the bad guy. It was just more like using his wits instead of a bigger spell or whatever. Also he rose above other Stranges in the multiverse.
Superman dilemma. If you have a really overpowered character, you need some kind of nerf. If you don't have it, they will suffer in terms of character value such as inteligence, creativity, skill, etc.
Look at the first movie, Strange instantly went from a nobody to the sorcerer that has to save the universe from a multidimensional entity on his first fight. Then Infinity War and Endgame, Strange has to follow a plot excuse in order to not solve the conflict instantly. The same happens in No Way Home, but that time they were just lazy.
Now you have Doctor Strange in his ultimate power level, capable of doing everything Ancient One could and even more, but for some reason it's not enough against Wanda's plot shield.
@@radrno7 The way I look at it, when two extremely powerful people with similar skillsets fight, I prefer where one outsmarts the other, rather then just be more powerful within that skillset. Like Flash vs Reverse Flash, I prefer that Barry outsmarts Thawne, rather than being a little bit faster.
@@radrno7 this, Strange is outright the strongest member among the MCU, but he debut movie was him literally trolling a cosmic god into submission. It wouldn't make sense to ever lose with a guy like that on your team, and its not like the time stone was source of his powers since most of his spells dont even rely on it.
@@anakinegbensetalo9733 they made him lame
Honestly, given that Strange mentions having fought Mordo some point in the past, this felt more like a Doctor Strange 2.5 story meant to lead him to his 3rd movie, sort of like how Defenders was like a Daredevil 2.5 story meant to lead him into Daredevil Season 3. Only in this case, we never see that Doctor Strange 2.
Tbh Daredevil Season 2 has this issue too. Punisher basically tosses everything else aside just for him to have his own story in the show. Elektra and the Hand are pretty much pointless since they have nothing to do with the main plot, which is heavily around Frank. It's a problem because those were the evolution of the Nobu plot in Season 1, where as Punisher was there really just to sell his solo show, which had nothing to do with the rest of the other shows. It's unfortunate, as cool as it is to have this big crossover between 2 great characters for an interesting dilemma, it feels like writers are trying to force it to make one better than the other. They didn't need to make the antagonist look cooler to sell them, after all if we know you're bringing this character to get them their own story, just, you know... leave that protagonism for that story. Something tells me that Wanda might not be as good as she is in this movie in a future solo story... *cough* Punisher show! *cough* Sorry, had a little bad feeling there. *shivers*
"Xavier gets a lot of respect" Wanda easily overpowers him and kills Xavier. That's not respect. They used him for memberberries. I'm sick of seeing Xavier get killed off
Yeah marvel hate him so much
@@deadnorth8648 I was mad about that. Xavier wouldn’t have gone down that easily. He’s an Omega Level Mutant he would have held his own for a little while.
Consider, movie-wise, that two of the most powerful mutants on the planet (The Phoenix and the Scarlet Witch) easily murdered Professor Xavier. Now that would be a great battle, Wanda vs Jean Grey!
Yea ik this i this review kinda fake I don't think he actually watched the movie
Xavier was trying to protect Wanda Maximoff from the Scarlet Witch so of course he isn't going to be at the top of his game in combat wise. You have one person out to kill while the other is trying to save a civilian. And in the comics the Scarlet Witch and the Phoenix, not jean grey, the actual entity of the Phoenix, were supposed to be the antithesis of each other with Wanda being the only one who could actually kill the Phoenix permanently.
The Illuminati was wasted potential along with the multiverse aspect, Strange himself felt more like a secondary character if anything. The MCU being referred to as the 616 was also stupid, America was surprisingly way more tolerable compared to her comic counterpart and Wanda while great in this movie as the villain, having characters say her anger was justified was ridiculous when you put the events of WandaVision into perspective.
It's so nice to hear someone else saying what I've been thinking since the end of Phase 3. Phase 4 didn't really need a big bad. This was supposed to be a chance to stand back, assess the damage from the Infinity Saga and figure out where to go from there, sowing the seeds near the end from the next major villain. But in case there was to be a major villain, who better than w Scarlet Witch? She's lost her brother. She's lost her lover. And even with the events of WandaVision, she still has no real idea of the full extent of her powers. So at this point, this is almost her Killing Joke moment. Where she's having a very long, bad day.
It should've been titled Scarlet Witch and the Multiverse of Madness. Dr. Strange could've been a secondary character with America Chavez. It's how it looks anyway. I guess they don't think Wanda can front her own movie, but she kind of is in this. Well, then have confidence in that decision. Don't overshadow someone's movie by shifting the focus to someone else.
It’s a bait and switch and subverting of expectation that disney does poorly
Enyet they had all this confidence in trash captain marvel. Wanda is universally liked so idk why this wasn’t just her movie.
Plus Wanda has tons of simps and stans who adore her... I'm sorta in that camp, but I also understand and agree with the criticism 😅
That's the new marvel code
Bait and switch
Use the old so new marvel can stand on it's dead body
I will say one thing. It feels almost like they blew their load a bit too early. Imagine if they had held off Psycho Scarlet Witch until the next Avengers. I'll admit that would have been a better fit, although i can't imagine how it could play out without half the characters dying. Maybe they get resurrected by their multiverse counterparts? I'm sure that would anger people to no end.
You know Thorias, for a guy that at one point was duking it out with the Living Tribunal, Movie Strange seems like a child in the magical arts.
I agree, this really felt like a Scarlet Witch movie!
Its called bait and switch
Dr Strange had the most screentime.
@@diannajennings266 When he IS onscreen, there isn’t much that is focused well.
Why not make a SW solo film like Black Widow and Captain Marvel. Or call it Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch.
@@normadgarmez7026 She definitely needs her own movie with her name in the title.
But I think the actress stole the show in Doctor Strange 2...
The smart move would have been to make the movie about Strange's grief and learning to move on. Wanda's madness could have been a dark reflection as well as an instigating incident.
Yes... there was even a scene hinting on this during Christine's wedding with the other surgeon character guy.. I was hoping they'd dig deeper into how Strange copes with this but as we all know he's just fine and dandy about it... jeez the dude pretty much sacrificed 5 years of his life and not a single problem was even mentioned.
How to move on..... and how not to and murder dozens of innocents along the way.
it... it literally was do you even watch the stuff you guys claim to care and complain about
I gotta be honest. Seeing the thumbnail, I was expecting a rant akin to those of your Batwoman reviews.
In the comics, Stephen had a younger sister named Donna who drowned when they were teenagers and Stephen blamed himself. Here's my idea: in Doctor Strange 2, Stephen receives word that his mother has died and while going through her things, finds a picture of himself and his little sister Donna, evoking a flashback of the two of them as kids and when we cut back to Stephen, we see him with a bittersweet smile that soon fades into one of sorrow. Later on, maybe in a scene with America, he explains that he and Donna were in an accident that killed her and he convinced himself that he was at fault for not saving her. This prompts him to become a doctor to help people but he later allows his ego to get the best of him and forget why he did it in the first place. Then at the film's climax, Stephen confronts Wanda but instead of trying to fight her, he empathizes with her, telling her that Donna's death caused him to develop a fear of failure (something the Ancient One touches upon in the first film) and pushed him into trying to control everything. He implores Wanda not to make the same mistake, that grief and heartache are terrible but necessary things that have to be confronted instead of swept away under the rug.
sounds really good. i'd watch it.

I'm almost afraid to ask
her and jane foster comic runs were some of the worst things ever. only thing that redeemed jane foster was thor and seeing Gor Jane had to be pushed to the side in her own comics in order for them to be readable
I don’t know if I’m reading too far into it or not but I feel like both wanda and steven’s arcs are intertwined. They both have this myopic worldview where they have to be the one in control; Strange has this common theme of “being the one to hold the knife” and Wanda is also like that, only she can be the one to control the family that the other good Wanda’s have created.
By the end, Strange has seen the destructive nature of what Wanda’s mindset of having to be the one in control has led to, and it informs his character to humble him a little and to show him that he can take a step back from being the MVP in control of absolutely everything.
I believe that’s what they tried to do, but it wasn’t displayed very well
When they walked past memory display building in the film, I just checked out completely. There are WAYS for you to have your characters express to one and other their memories that are important to them. Having them step on a pad that CONVIENTLY poops out a specific memory that helps the audience learn more about a character's deep seeded trauma is just horribly lazy exposition. There are more natural ways to have that conversation come up in dialogue between the characters, but NO. No instead we have our two protagonists walk past the ONE Store in the dimension they just traveled to, and literally like some intrusive pop up add it just craps out the memory in the most awkward of ways. This film was a complete mess.
You had Dr. Strange taking a back seat in his own film (which lets be honest shouldn't have come as any surprise in what many are beginning to call the M-She-U) and being overshadowed by Scarlet and American Chavez. You had a plot that essentially serves as a direct sequel to Wanda-Vision on D+ which will leave you utterly BAFFLED as to what is going on if you didn't watch that (spoiler alert: Most normies who flock to these marvel films DON'T have D+ and thus have NOT seen Wanda-Vision). And probably most egregious of all, you didn't even let Strange have his Hero moment in his own damn movie that bares his fucking namesake, and let him defeat Scarlet Witch using his vast powers being a master of the mystic arts.
Strange canonically is about the only one who realistically could go toe to toe with Wanda and come out on top. He's that fucking powerful. But nah fuck it, its current year and we can't have a man defeat a woman, even if said woman is a psycho mass murderer hell bent on destroying anyone who gets in her way because she misses her fucking nonexistent children! The bitch is one step shy of being pure unhinged evil and the film lets you know the best way for her to go out is to just drop a building on herself instead of letting the good guy beat the bad guy. Let me repeat that, the film has Wanda DEFEAT herself instead of letting its damn titular hero do hero stuff and save the day by defeating the villain. Phase 4 continues to suck shit dick through a straw /RANT
Not to mention that anyone who hasn't seen Wanda vision is gonna be completely lost in the plot.
Not a fan of this cinematic event setup, it reminds me of the crazy comic book crossover events were you had to buy all the tie-in comic books to get a full story.
And that's not a good thing.
WandaVision is REQUIRED. Disney+ is now a necessary thing to have in order to follow things. If you didn’t see WandaVision you would have no idea about her lost children.
Having seen it doesn't really help. 3 seconds before the end of Wandavision, she's remorseful and shows signs of healing. Then we get one shot of her reading the darkhold and the very next thing (this movie) is that she's gone so far over to the dark side that the Emperor looks like a boyscout.
I think Thanos said it best "I don't even know who you are"
One of the few movies that could be solved by the villain getting laid.
HA
Well 🤔.... Yeah. I mean Wanda does want a family and a husband.
I feel like we watched two different movies.
Strange's arc wasn't well done, it was less of an arc and more of slamming a bunch of arc pieces. The payoffs didn't have good setups to have any weight. The dialogue between him and Christine felt like it went nowhere. And the movie does try to excuse Wanda, they pat her on the back for doing "the right thing" and did say the equivalent of "they don't know how much you've sacrificed," when Strange and Wanda were talking above Kamar Taj. They also did that at the beginning when strange (in an obvious ADR line) said "you put things right in the end," to Wanda. They also try to pain Strange in a negative light, Defender Strange, for example, did nothing wrong. It was the fate of the multiverse, and it clearly showed in Benedict's acting that he did not want to kill her, hell he even saved her before he died. Yet she acted as though he was a bad Strange. This movie was low-effort, the writer should not be hired for anything, butchering Loki and now Dr. Strange. Scott Derickson should have been on and he should have run with it, Dr. Strange had a meaningful arc in Dr. Strange 1, this movie was a mockery of that. Everything Everywhere All At Once was the true multiverse of madness, it is everything I was hoping for with this movie. I get wanting to be hopeful, but nothing I've seen from Marvel recently has given me any.
I never say this but this is a good and thorough review -- you gave words for the issues very well
Yeah it felt super natural, and felt great
He left out alot of things that made no sense
Very thorough review as usual. Thank you for posting.
when I saw The Drinker's clip where Mauler brought up one of the sequences of the memory shop...I had a bad feeling.
edit: the most surprising element is definitely America Chavez not being a woke device.
Saw it coming, and thank you for the breakdown.
You must be feeling better now that the vile cup of Batwoman has been taken from your hand. No more Batwoman...
I'm not convinced the people writing Marvel understand that Wanda is supposed to be a villain. The comics forgot the Idea of heroes and villains a long time ago, to a point were calling Superhero Comics doesn't make a lot of sense anymore. Heroes fighting heroes, villains that are treated as protagonists, etc. Observe that there are almost no relevant villains of the comics in the MCU anymore, and I wonder why.
She was more of a hero in the 70s early 80s
But different writers and never a clear definition of her powers
My three-and-a-half cents... The MCU studio has to make money. They have to make a film that will reach the masses (particularly those who DO NOT read comics). There just isn't enough time (or money) to stay within the canon of every character and not lose the casual movie goer. I've written elsewhere: imagine trying to put Secret Wars or Crisis on Infinite Earths on the silver screen. It would be glorious and amazing, but man it would take billions of dollars and possibly decades to complete that type of project.
Perhaps if they hired or got advice from the actual creators of the characters they would see the great potential in the lesser-known villains across Marvel's universe. The problem is that they refuse to stick to the actual canon/lore. There have to be many good writers that would be able to make the proper screenplays off the lore....Oh, well..
The review i was waiting for!!!!!!
Hey Thorias, I just want to say excellent work! I've been looking forward to this for a few days now, and you didn't necessarily disappoint. I say that because of this: I just finished the 5+hour EFAP and found myself a bit miffed that it was ONLY five or so hours. They covered like the first half-hour or so. I, as well as many others in the chat, were looking forward to an 11 hour review. By comparison, 15 minutes just leaves me wanting so much more from you if that makes sense. You could unpack so much here.
There's definitely a market for longer form content and I think you'd be really good for it. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and the abomination that is the upcoming Rings of Power is going to require such a longer in depth analysis to do it justice. I really think that could be your breakout performance. Your new Batwoman as it were, except think of Batwoman as your opening act.
Don't take this as criticism please, because I've been a subscriber of yours for years! You were the first UA-camr I ever subscribed to, back before the Batwoman fiasco! I wish you nothing but the best, and look forward to everything you have coming next.
Finally, per usual:
FOR THE ALGORITHM!!
How did people possibly guess that Strange would be a side character?
Honestly, watching Wanda kill the illuminati was great. Especially her overpowering Captain Marvel, proving who's the "strongest" Avenger once and for all.
Is it true they killed her by dropping a statue on her cause if that is that is such bull. I my self don’t like Captain Marvel but come on they made her super powerful she can fly through Starships and took a punch from Thanos but a statue is to much?!?
How did Charles not just fry her mind right away? He can literally concentrate and kill someone
She isn't the strongest.
This was a damn near perfect review. Like super spot on. Just like you I was cringing at America Chavez going in but was immediately pleasantly surprised. Ended up liking her a lot.
From what I've hear on some podcasts, they had to edit and reshoot a bunch of her scenes so was less snarky and more personable.
@@ChewieEst I didn't even hear about any reshoots for this movie and I'm usually on top of that stuff. Guess it shows my care for the M She U is winding down a bit. Lol
There is a plot hole I noticed, Dr. Strange briefly mentions No away Home and name drops Spider-Man. I’m sure he should forget the events of that movie from the spell he casted.
No he just forgets who Peter Parker is
Dude the spell just made people forget who peter is, not spiderman. Seems like you need to rewatch the movie!
nope, the spell just erasing peter parker identity as spiderman, not the event.

You always have great takes and that’s why I’m always enjoying watching these videos.
Scarlet Witch in the Multiverse that is Neither Mad nor it is Actually Explored Pretty Well
This movie broke me on the MCU. I had hoped the TV shows and failures therein would not passover to the big screen. I was dead wrong. The golden days of the MCU are clearly past us. The future is so dark I cant see any hope.
I loved this film. I've watched it about 6 times or so. I'm tired of the multiverse stuff, but the violence and humor worked for me. The inclusion of Bruce Campbell was legendary. Too short, but legendary.
Cannot wait to see ur review on this one

She is just a diverse Mary sue in the comics but in this... In this works
She is just a scared girl that has so much to learn.
When she try to be " Tough " Or bitch people call her out for this
And at the end when she know how to use her power she doesn't go on" Captain marvel mode".

Yus! Waiting for your review lol
I felt disinterested in the multiverse aspects. The deaths of the Illuminati just felt like padding to give Wanda a body count. My eyes glaze over when they try to explain it on a technical level. This movie made me sad for what they did to Wanda making her so heartless to everyone else and so focused on her selfish goals. She was my favorite character because of how tragic her life was and how she just wanted a simple happy life. I guess I’m going to wait and see what happens next. I want heroic Wanda (the end of WandaVision had me hopeful), and now that she went that far with the killing it’s kind of impossible to see her reformation working. The Doctor Strange overarching storyline had me keep reminding myself of what his character arc with Christine was trying to say. America Chavez was decent but very little more than a plot device. At least she wasn’t being a smug, dumb idiot like she was in the Gabby Rivera comic though.
Nice to see pay for her sins for enslaving that town on the TV show
@@dwainmorris7854 Yeah, but it would've been better had Doctor Strange not just hand waived it so nonchalantly. He did more to Loki and Thor for simply entering Midgard unannounced. Wanda? Nah girl, you go! Fake kids not being worth torture/enslavement/mass murder? Pshaw whatevs, slay QUEEN!!!1!2
Damn near every franchise/ series is trying to do a multiverse I became disinterested a long time ago, tbh.

Marvel: "Here are your favorite characters. Now they're dead!!!"
I have to honestly say this is the most likable, least annoying, most non-bitchy version of American Chavez I have EVER seen in the entirety of the marvel multiverse! If they literally had created the character in the comic to be the way she is in this movie, people would actually like her and not see her as the ridiculous Mary Sue that she is, and from what I understand they're actually altering her origin in the comic book to be MORE like this movie by portraying the previous version of her as being delusional, because of her terrible childhood. The only thing I really really hate about this movie in my opinion were the two boys, because they were essentially retarded and paaaaainfully annoying. They were supposed to be about 12 years old and they acted like they were five, if I had boys that old that acted like that I'd be taking them to some sort of doctor to get them treatment. Otherwise solid A-class movie in my opinion 👍
SJW garbage my opinion
The illuminate fight was some bs like they all should have fight
I agree America was actually sufferable maybe she might have been the only good part of the movie she had character development went from can't use her powers to kinda use her power to becoming a student of the lost arts to learn how to control her abilities.
Wan definitely got off way too easy during every scene it bugged me. Like it made the plot armor too upfront when everyone gets tortured and sliced he just kept getting pushed and levitated.
Yep it was really stupid, the dude is so weak
Yeah, this was doomed from the start. The infinity saga required years of movies, charecter development, tie ins and loads of other building all to save half of ONE universe.
The Multiverse of Madness up the scale infinitely more and tried to make it all work within one movie that tied into a bad TV show.
Great review👍
I wouldn't be opposed to Elizabeth Olsen being the face of the MCU. She's likable she can act and emote and make you feel sympathy which a good actor needs to be able to do. Unlike a certain brie larson. I know some ppl don't like Scarlett Witch defeated professor x easily but in a storyline wanda is so powerful x men avengers and fantastic four tried killing her because they were afraid if she turned evil they wouldn't be able to stop her. With a whisper no more mutants Wanda got rid of them.
That's called writers favor. They haven't been able to agree on Wanda's powers, the origin of her powers, or how strong they are since basically her inception.
The FACE OF THE MCU?!?!
I liked Wanda. Until wandavision, and after this i hope the bitch is dead and buried forever, but know she'll be back and they'll try to make her a good guy again

The only redeeming thing about what if was supreme strange. Honestly his story and character was a way better Wanda story. I'd like a situation where he meets Wanda and just bodies her, but spares her by showing what will happen if she continues on her path.
If you are talking about the "dark" Strange at the end, that wasn't Superior Strange. He had a completely different back story. His Christine was still alive.
Taken as an MCU story alone, I rather liked MoM, for the reasons you mentioned here, but also because it a little close to home for me. At times, I felt like the story was targeting me, specifically, and not a general audience. And that's the same thing I said about America Chavez...at least she's not her comic book variant. But as a character film, boy do they deviate from who these characters are and what they can do. Scarlet Witch should be scary as hell, and she was, but not takes-down-the-Illuminati-in-under-five-minutes scary (though, hey, at least it wasn't Plank). To be THE selling point of this film, they were in and out in a flash, and not exactly used to perfection. If Wanda's that damn powerful, she should be able to just blink everyone out of existence with a thought.
And then there's Strange. Now, again, I identified a little TOO closely to his struggle in this film, so I can't say I didn't like that ride. And Dr. Strange's battle with himself was fun, even if it was just shiny, dangling keys. It was the most creative idea I've seen Marvel run with in a few years now. But his overall power level, his weepy, grouchy attitude...aren't going to please fans of the character very much. Not crazy about how Wanda's arc in this ends, either. Though I'm sure they could handwave it away in a hundred different ways, it does leave them open to bring in other versions of Wanda into the MCU. You know, versions who are actually related to other characters they might bring in.
So, for me, I enjoyed it, for the most part. I just knew good and well that most of the people I respect on UA-cam wouldn't, and for good reasons. And yeah, you're the first of them that I follow to not completely trash the film. Not really what I was hoping for, either. (No, I didn't need a thousand cameos. But the prospect of a Dr. Strange/Scarlet Witch team up throughout some multiversal craziness was an appealing notion, or at least as appealing as it gets for someone who hates multiverse stories to begin with. More like Doctor Strange: A Couple of Easily-Fathomable Multiverses.)

Very centered review . Well done you much nicer than I would have been.
Ooooo. Dark and gritty! Few films do that!
Doc Strange 2, is a superhero snuff film. they bring in characters solely to get merc'd by Wanda.
Great review. I agree totally about America Chavez. I was really worried. I did enjoy it, especially a certain cameo.
I liked horror villain Wanda. Raimi's direction really shines when she gets to be a terrifying force of nature. One of my favorite moments in the movie is when a bloodied Wanda is menacingly stalking Strange and Co. down that underground tunnel. It has the perfect Evil Dead vibes and I'm here for it.
People seem to be somewhat against this version of Wanda because MoM takes a 180 with her development from WandaVision but honestly, how much different is she here from that show? People seem to forget that she made the very conscious decision to do all those horrible things to the people of that town. Maybe I'm mistaken (I haven't revisited that show since so I don't remember everything) but it feels like her only heroic character growth came from not wanting to be Agatha's bitch rather than the realization that she was doing bad things and should probably just stop. Her going full dark side here felt completely in character imo.
Well-done.
Imagine if this was a horror.
I know half of the fans would hate how the illuminati got used in this movie. I for one love how they were used in this movie because I'm sick of cameos and fanservice and seeing how they treated the cameos made me smile.
So people do know the sling ring can open portals to the multiverse right, Mordo and Female Ancient One confirms
Would have preferred the cameo alt-heros to have been peppered thru the movie rather than "here they are, all in a room, behind a table"
You're being way to generous towards Wanda. The movie tries over and over again to enforce the idea that, while she went all coocoo, she still "has a point".
Like when she tells her justifications to Strange and others, and everyone is left speechless, mute, without a rebuttal. No one can answer her because she "has a point". She doesnt. She's completely and utterly insane with no redeeming qualities and no reasons to be sympathetic towards. Not one. Not a single one.
She should have known better
The soundtrack was amazing, I think is the first mcu soundtrack I really put attention to
The giant octopus was Shuma-Gorath. One of the most powerful beings in the comics. Not so much in this film though.
Such a shame
Because it’s not shuma-gorath it’s gargantos, yes they look similar but gargantos is a namor villain so I don’t get why include that in the movie instead.
@@chaotic-doxxer If you check the wiki page on SG, the movie intended for it to be SG, but couldn’t get the naming rights from another company. So, it’s actually SG, but with a last minute name change to Gargantos, a lesser villain.
@@samuraigundam0079 But Marvel own the rights to nearly all their characters.
Why wouldn't they have Shuma-Gorath?
@thoriasunlimited I haven't seen this yet, so thanks for the review! My question is: is this a movie that you would watch again/repeatedly?
Man... mainstream stuff just gets more polarising by the week.
(It's always been that way; we just see it more immediately due to social media)
Called it! I knew this movie was going to be a bait-n-switch.
Him criticizing Marvel for making Doctor Strange a secondary character in his sequel movie.
BUT also him forgetting Captain America Civil War which almost had no focus on Captain America
HOW'S THAAATT?
What are you on about smh
Your title is FAR more accurate than having Doctor Strange's name anywhere near the title.
I 100% agree with this review 👌
My favorite ‘amazing’ act of America Chavez was punching Hitler (who was on Normandy for some reason) and then she..walked away. America Chavez: nazi atrocities are all her fault
Thanks!
Been waiting for this one. Beer… Check. Pork Cracklins… Check. Spicy dill pickle… Check.
they forgot to add vision. lol.
I appreciate the breakdown, I haven’t seen it yet but I’m still going to, I have seen the clips where BB & RR get taken out like punks so the other two can show off, why am I not surprised 👍
Comment to fight the algorithm with magic.
A reality warping witch that can control an entire town with her mind cant remake her imaginary kids or adopt
She’s not screaming about her Holy Menstruation…”
Wait, WHAT?!?
In regards to the idea of having some sort of common theme to better tie Wanda's arc into Steven's, at the end of the movie when America is starting to learn magic we get this little taste of Steven act as sort of a mentor for her. I feel that the movie should have leaned into that more, a more proper teacher/student or maybe even father/daughter dynamic as the film went on. Unite the hero and villain stories under the theme of parenthood. I feel like maybe dropping the Christine storyline in favor of this would also help to un-busy the movie - I feel like there was closure enough for their relationship in the first Doctor Strange anyway.
Woman can't have men teaching them
Woman are born awesome and learn about how awesome they really are
Every writer in 2022 apparently
You have poor taste Thoras limited. What if was awesome giving a glimpse of how mad they were going to go in Multiverse of Madness.
In the books Wanda is the strongest badass there is and she is a true force that crushes everything and everyone. And now secret wars can be a thing and I see a place for fantastic 4 which is what was looking like a difficult fit but it's open now
For anyone who wants to know
Is this a good Dr Strange film?
No, I didn't give a damn about him, his love interest or anyone else
Is Mrs Marvel in the film?
Yeah she's basically an artifact with legs instead of a real person
Is Wanda sympathetic?
No, she's as bad or worse than Thanos. Half way through the film I was saying she needs to be killed, call the avengers.
Can you say anything good about the film?
Xavier was there for a few minutes so that's some sweet nostalgia and Dr Strange powers up with a dead body and evil spirits so that's a cool scene
It should have been named The Scarlett Witch & The Darkhold. Dr strange and America were along for the ride.
Comment for the algorithm gods.
well, i'm not watching it, so i cant really tell you what i feel about it... after all MCU ended at End Game, and I'm not a big fans of MSheU.
Love your reviews at least you point out the good things in the movie but some UA-cam reviewers just don't.
