Willem Defoe's Green Goblin not sinister in the Raimi movie? How? He blew up the house of an elderly (Aunt May) while she's praying in it just for shit & giggles and to sent a message to Spidey. And then he forced Spidey to choose between the life of his gal and the lives of a group of innocents. Not to mention all the people that he killed. Does Goblin have to kill kittens on-screen just to prove how unhinged he is?

It's not that Goblin isn't sinister in the Raimi movie, but his performance did feel more like a pantomime in places. That's not to say it wasn't a fucking good performance. But in No Way Home, Goblin just seems far more menacing and dangerous. His movements aren't as slow, his moves are more brutal, and his contorted face sends shivers down more spine. There were scenes in this film that made Goblin look like an unstoppable horror movie killer/monster, with Peter punching him repeatedly and all Goblin does is cackle at him before wrecking his shit.

Willem Dafoe's portrayal of the Norman Osborn goblin/villain was actually based more on the Spiderman cartoon version, rather than the more evil Marvel Comics version. That explains why it seems targeted more for kids.

Such a nice throwback when Peter (Tobey) meets Otto for the first time in Spider-Man 2 (2004), Otto says that *you’re brilliant but lazy* and Peter replies that *he’s trying to do better* and in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) when Otto asks how are you, he replies the same answer *trying to do better.* So good!

I can still get teary-eyed as I remember Garfield's Peter's expression as he realizes that THIS TIME he saved the girl from falling to her death, even though he couldn't do so for Gwen.
I was waiting (and praying) that none of the Spider-Men would get killed in this universe, but Tobey's stabbing from behind was still a shock. So glad it didn't kill him, but he should have sensed it with his spider sense.

I admire the MCU Spider-Man SO much now. This trilogy is the best Spider-Man origin story ever. And also, I admire how they managed to find a way to give everyone what they wanted with Spider-Man. They had this Spider-Man team up with the Avengers and be part of a team with lots of cool gadgets for the fans who like that type of Spider-Man, and now they are giving us the Spider-Man who’s an everyday man, alone, struggling with money, etc. and they managed to do all of this in such a natural and easy transition that I loved so so much.

I was not the biggest fan of Tom Holland's Spiderman since Homecoming. It was never him, but rather the way his version of the character was written. He felt to much like a lackey, a sidekick, than the hero.
However, this film changed that. I still do not like the first to films that much (barring some bits), but this film endeared me to this Spiderman because he now feels like the character. He's suffered, he's grown, he's matured, and seems to finally understand the weight of responsibility. The ending scene with MJ and Ned in the cafe, for me, was the part that solidified this.
What a fantastic film; so glad I saw it.

"I will complain on the internet." The only thing we can do lol.
No, but, as far as the symbiote left behind, my theory is that it was born here, so it wasn't seen as a multidimensional piece of material when they all got zapped back.
Another theory is that when they all got cured and zapped back, they still met their fates, it was just too late for them to stop it from happening. Dock HAD to destroy the collider, thus he drowned. Spidey killed Electro, couldn't stop that from happening for he was out of earshot. Norman still got stabbed by the glider, too quickly happening for him to dodge it. Connors was CURED cured, so he still went to jail. Sandman's the only one who got away clean but still has to answer for his crimes as Flint Marco.

I started a review account on letterboxd and this what I personally have to say about this beautiful movie
No way home not only succeeds as a film as a whole but captures the emotional impact of the audience and my own. Throughout the film, on many occasions I couldn’t help but scream and stand up in ovation. Tom’s Acting here in this film is by far his best in all of the Spider-Man movies he has been in so far! In fact everyone’s acting was top notch! With the addition of Willem, Alfred, Jamie, And the other previous Spider-Man villians, the film truly delivered in nostalgia / voice breaking reactions from my audience anyway! The score is solid per usual from these films, I will be putting the soundtrack on repeat. The predictably of the film and the pace was very good, not too fast, not slow enough to make it feel like the story drags on, which is good because there was a lot going on in this beautiful movie and the decision to get to the action was a great decision. And a welcome one. Without a doubt No Way Home is one of the greatest MCU films to date and I’ll go as far as to say one of the greatest superhero films ever. It will definitely be hard to top it.

To answer your question about Venom showing up, it actually does make sense.
    1. In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the credit scene had Venom tell Eddie that all symbiotes throughout the ENTIRE MULTIVERSE, have a interdimensional hivemind of sorts. This means for example, that Venom knows who Spider-Man is because the symbiote from Spider-Man 3 knew who he was and his thoughts were shared with Tom Hardy's Venom. When Venom was transported to the MCU, he saw Peter unmasked and said "That guy..." He instantly knew him.
    2. Also that piece of the symbiote was technically "born" into the MCU. Like Carnage in Venom 2, it became disconnected with Venom (since Carnage in the movie is Venom's offspring), and because of that, it became sentient and only gained access to the hivemind later on.

If you watch TASM scene where Electro explodes, Gwen yells "Peter" just before he "dies", and in that Sony Verse, just about everyone knew that "Peter Parker" takes pictures of Spider-Man. So that could be how Electro put two and two together just before he died. May be a little far fetched, but that's my head Canon to make it make sense.
And the whole "hoping he was black" doesn't mean that version of Electro knew a black Spider-Man, I think it was just a nod to Miles Morales imo.

The thing about this spider man is it defines all heroes even the heroes of the movies that come before it no matter how much they would like to cannot turn to the dark side and be a hero and they cannot always get the joy and happiness It's rough being a hero.

I like the movie for the most part. I liked the darker tone since Spidey comics and stories can go dark and serious. I even loved the fan service forbthe most part, but it felt too light hearted and jokey at times, especially after a very sad death scene. Im very torn on them erasing him from memory and him starting at 0. I liked the idea of him being the next leader of the avengers, but the new direction has potential.
Also if people dont remember him anymore, does that mean he has no documentation or photos with him in it or do people just not rember him? His friends should have at least acknowledged him as an old classmate, just not remember their bonds with him. People still remember Spiderman. Also if he is poor amd has no connections, how could he afford rent on his own in NYC??? Idk, its fine. Maybe I need to watch it again or there are a lot of scenes cut for the bluray. Overall I liked it a lot.

This is an interesting question, because at the end of the film, MJ is still wearing the necklace. So we know that things that he gave people still exist, so if he gave her a picture of the two of them together wouldn’t that still exist?
Maybe a lot of people have pictures that they look at and think “Huh, who’s this guy? I don’t remember him.” But digital stuff must have been erased since otherwise the whole Peter is Spider-man stuff would exist.
Now that I think about it, a better scene would have been him looking at her and seeing she doesn’t have the necklace. Then realizing she really has been cut off from their past together.

I wonder if during the scene were the Spider-Men are talking on top of the Statue of Liberty, that the director told them to just improv, as the camera rolls, and let them loose. That's were the magic is.

He has the same "complaint" as many other dumb Tobey haters.
How does Tobeys Peter cry too much? He says he likes Andrew Spiderman in Amazing Spiderman, yet Andrew's Peter crys just as much.
Everytime Tobeys Parker and Andrews Parker for that matter, everytime they cried its due to somebody's death.

The only thing I can think of is why Eddie was there because Venom mention in the end credit of Venom 2 that he has a hive mind with other symbiotes in the multiverse. If that is the case then Venom from Spider-man 3 knows Peter Parker is Spider-man connected with Venom from the second movie with the symbiote hive mind already know about Spider-man. That's the best thing I can come up with that 'make' sense to me and I'll quickly admit that is not a good explanation but it's all I got until Kevin says otherwise.

From what I heard from Tobey's Peter Parker, he and MJ made it work relationshipwise, so who knows? Perhaps we will see a Spiderverse version of May "Spidergirl" Parker whose version of Peter Parker is voiced by Tobey.

If we get Mayday Parker in spider verse I'll be happy, but if Tobey voiced Peter I'd Flip, cause in this film his battle efforts and in-suit dialog sounded just like they use to so he'd be great.

Loved the movie, but think that the conflict could have been avoided completely by having Edith reveal the truth about Mysterio. And I guess Dr. Strange is out of the loop, but why didn't Scott, Bruce or Rhodey tell Peter that time travel is possible, explain that in order to change time effectively, he'd need the Time Stone, tell him when and where to get it and make sure that he returns it. Also f### the skrull that doxxed his secret identity to some unvetted dude.

Thorias, Venom said, at the end of let there be carnage, in a nutshell that he had I suppose links/connections to other versions of him in other multiverses, not in those specific words but again just summarising. And obviously that venom (Spiderman 3) knew Peter so that's why he's in the MCU. However I agree that the small symbiot left behind at the end makes no sense since everyone/thing that came through is supposed to return to their respective universes. Don't get me wrong still excited to see what they do with it but still.

This movie was AMAZING! The last two were great but they did not make me wish the next upcoming Spider-Man movie would come out tomorrow, unlike this one I am so stoked to see how this all plays out in the sequel that I wish the next movie would be released next week.
All the villains were awesomely portraited even though I feel like Sandman could have had a bit more and like you said I wish there were more screen time for the other two Spideys.
I do wish they included Venom only because I think Marvel and Feige could have given us that awesome Comic Book Venom that everyone loves instead of the crappy Sony version.

This film delivered on a lot of things. But there are was only a be thing that I didn’t like
-The Venom Catfish. I wanted Venom to go rogue and join the S-6 to fight and then have a realization and fire along side the Spider-Men and Thorias is right it is magic not a door and that piece of the Venom Symbiote leaving behind doesn’t make any sense.
-Also TH’s Spider-Man’s pain was relatable on a human level. But the biggest event he went through was the alien invasion that he fought in and I do not care if you are a superhero or not fighting in a alien war would change people forever(Iron Man had severe PTSD after the Battle of New York and Spider-Man just brushes it off like it was nothing come on!)
But apart from that everything else lived up to the hype and I still do not like Zendaya’s MJ(she just doesn’t work).

Just saw this Movie Tobey looked aged lol but I liked Andrew and I didn't even like his movies maybe I should rewatch them. I can't belive they had Peters friends and MJ forget who he is so it's gonna be a clean slate now with the Next saga and they going to use the Black suit. Tom felt like Spider-Man for once this whole trilogy was a Origin story. So who knows what they will do next.

I really enjoyed the film, albeit for slightly different reasons.
I also did not like how Uncle Ben was basically omitted from this version's backstory. When Aunt May said the iconic line it actually took me out of the film. No problem with the Aunt May character and especially not Marisa Tomei or her performance, I just didn't like seeing a father figure wiped from canon like that. I realize not many agree with me on this but that's fine. I'll die on that hill alone.

Talking about improvements... Green Goblin's much much better costume look away with that terrible shiny slinky outfit and in with the swathed in rags look .. even the Goblin mask was got rid of within minutes of Osbourne showing up like that was first targeted to go ... I'll bet if time and resources had been available the Lizard would got a similar makeover to look more like his familar self ..I can only guess budgets didn't stretch which is likely why he didn't get much screen time and spent his time in the truck

Legends return. Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe, and Alfred Molina as well as the rest of the cast gave stellar performances for sure, but it was the redemption of Andrew Garfield's spiderman that really sold the movie for me. I loved those movies and seeing the three Spidermen meet each other and work together as well as the Matt Murdock cameo is a real Christmas miracle. Spiderman no way home is a cinematic masterpiece for me.
