The whole bit about Kamala's heavily revisionist recap, which everybody knows is BS, is made doubly better by the fact that the actress who plays her, is a big fan of the MCU, and has actively said she doesn't like Captain Marvel, the film or the character. So, yes, even Kamala, on some level, knows what she's saying is horseshit.

This sounds like something I would've been all over as a kid, but am well past caring about as an adult. About the last things that you said, it's kind of funny how your perspective changes as an adult compared to a child. The whole "parents just don't understand" mindset simply doesn't work when you know personally (and maybe even by experience) what said parents have to sacrifice in order for you to live even a moderately comfortable life. From that point of view, kids in these shows often just come off as disrespectful, privileged brats unless the writing is unusually good.

Here some poor kids, usually the eldest who has a very strong sense of responsibility , voluntarily help their widowed mum sell snacks and breakfast items in villages right before school or during weekends when said single mum has to wake up at 3am everyday to prepare food items to sell for the working crowd's morning breakfast. And these kids also are usually very diligent at school. Motives are usually tht they feel really bad for their mother who works hard everyday to feed and raise them as best as the mother can. These kids don't have time to play around and make googoo gaga eyes at stupid celebrity figures. Their idols are usually their mothers.

They should have set up that they made a documentary with interviews from the avengers explaining everything that happened in infinity war and endgame That would explain how the public knows about thanos, because he was only on earth for 5 minutes in a secret African country, and for an hour in the destroyed rubble of the hq

Fair review.... this is what I like about, Thorias - when he slays a show, he does it.... but if it's not bad, he gives it an honest and fair review. The one show I like that he reviews that he likes/dislikes is STARGIRL... he points out the good, but does not turn a blind eye to the negative and always gives it a fair review. ...this shows that he's just not one sided.
I have ADHD and was totally able to follow their conversation and graphics. The graphics WERE their conversation. Everything they were saying, was played out in the background.
The graphics and cinematography are the things I can say would actually get me to like this if story could just stay at around this level till it ends doing so would make it one of the most visually entertaining and tolerable D+ shows for me
If you watch it expecting a teen comedy, aimed at girls, that happens to take place in the Marvel Universe, it was actually pretty well made. I actually enjoyed the art and cinematics.
Well, "WandaVision" was pretty good up until the last, few episode, so they showed they can be competent at least. Sadly that's as good as I can say about Disney+ shows... from those I watched; after "Hawkeye" I just said goodbye to MCU as a whole... it was fun while it lasted

The sad thing is, these writers must hate parents, theirs included because based on what you said, Kamala's parents and family and friends life is great, and she's so ungrateful, it's bloody painful. The whole podcast thing makes no sense anyway. Scott was trapped for 5 years since before the snap so he has no idea what actually happened during the events of infinity war or the start of end game, at which point Captain Bit... I MEAN Captain Marvel was already back in space after fury sent out the sos. And her movie takes place in the 90's when he would be a criminal, so I doubt shield was giving him top secret information about 2 alien invasions happening. So how would Scott have ANY information. And during end game, at that part he was in the van trying to fix the time machine in his van, so he wouldn't have seen her even near Thanos. This whole thing wreaks of Propaganda.
I mean how did FBI Jimmy know as well I guess there was some kind of government hearing where the heroes had to explain what happened. Similar to John Walker explaining what happened with his ordeal in Falcon & the Winter Soldier. Or Tony explaining himself in the first and 2nd Iron Man movies. But yeah Scott was among the rest of the Avengers fighting Thanos army once he rescued Rhodey and the others in the rubble so he did see what Carl did.

Im trying to figure out when this takes place. Loki takes place right after Endgame and before it (time works weird in the TVA) Wandavision was 3 weeks after Endgame Falcon & Winter Soldier was 6 months after Endgame Shang Chi was sometime early in the year because they showed a Chinese New Year calender Spider-Man Far From Home was 9 months after Endgame (so sometime in late June or July) Spider-Man No Way Home was immediately after it then fast forwarded to beginning of school year. Hawkeye was during Christmas, so over one year from Endgame Eternals was probably around sometime earlier that year maybe March since they still had winter clothes So this means that giant Celestial 'God' showed up in front of the planet for everyone to see; not to mention the smaller Celestial erupted out of the Indian Ocean and is now a solid mountainous object. Yet no one has said anything about them. Which is weird as fuck. Anyone who's religuous would be flipping their head right now.
I didn't have any expectations for the show, the trailers were "neat" but nothing spectacular. I completely loved the first episode, the energy and the positivity and the genuine characters and really can't wait to see all episodes.
Carol has a great advertising and PR team on Earth, that she is in contact with even light years away. That is how people know about outfits. She also sends the pictures to her team to keep her in the Public mind.

NO, it was so much cooler to see the girl who doesn't like the Avengers show up also dressed as Captain Marvel, rather than people not knowing who she is. And the whole cosplay contest scene which reveals her powers couldn't work if she wasn't on stage with other Captain Marvel cosplayers. Also a lot of these comments are from people who didn't watch the episode but are forming their opinions on it based on this UA-cam video. I cannot stress this enough, seriously, episode one of Ms. Marvel is NOT as painful to watch as people are acting like it is. Seriously, if people want cringe they can turn on that Fairly Oddparents live-action show.

If this were being handled by competent people, they could have her causing problems at the con getting media attention because there's no way it wouldn't have been caught on camera. Once the footage got out, she could get a visit from Nick Fury or maybe Maria Hill to find out how she got ahold of what must be some kind of advanced weapon. If not them then someone else, and they could be investigating what happened, and the writers could use that to build tension throughout the season as the investigator tries to learn her identity. It could up the stakes for her character. I dunno. Just an idea.
Actually I think this is quite a fair review I'd rather you be honest than raging for the sake of raging and yes I agree this show is nowhere near as bad as some of the other stuff you've covered it actually didn't seem really all that bad at all especially when you consider a number of factors.

So Disney really shoulda bought Micronauts (and ROM Space Knight) from Hasbro but they wont because theyre stupid.

People literally were screaming how excited they were for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Them not liking it is an AFTERMATH. And also no one had seen it before release day not even critics. And on top of that there were two episodes released first day whereas only Hawkeye and Wandavision really did that of their high IP shows, and Wandavision being the first Marvel one and being sitcomy, which the trailers implied, wasn't fully invitational to everyone at that point. As for the second part of your post, yes that is a problem Disney has now and it's about to happen with ANOTHER space property, Lightyear. But that still has nothing to do with the record Disney claims that Obi-Wan Kenobi holds. The same is true for Moon Knight, what they said was it was the most clicked on Marvel show release day, bu t then they said that Loki was their most watched Marvel show of all. Those are two different things, the second does not contradict the other.
I don't know why so many people think this bracelet is the nega bands or the quantum bands. There should be two of them, but this bracelet is the only thing giving her powers. I'm pretty sure it's just a new version of that bracelet thing that she wears in the comics and games, since it only seems to be a style choice in those products.
She only has one because in the comics she has one bracelet on as well. However, people are saying the Quantum / Negabands because of the power abilities thats all. And Kamala literally says "COSMIC" at the end of episode 1. I do not like the . Spider-Man TAS, X-MEN TAS, Justice League, Static Shock, Generator Rex, Ben 10,Tron Uprising, Earth's Mightiest Heroes etc....they were cartoons. They were for kids. But they still offered well written heroes and villains that people of all ages could enjoy and appreciate. And the way Marvel treats heroism...(Marvel treats it as child's play).....i am not willing to give them a pass. There are times when the target audience excuse works but this is not one of those times.
I can't speak for everyone of course but nah, I don't come to the channel just to see you arbitrarily tear a show/movie apart. I come to hear an honest take on it and that's what you deliver and I appreciate it. I heard a rumor that the actress argued with Kevin fridge about the continuity of the MCU. Declaring it couldn't be the 616 universe because of how fucked the cannon is.
I mean... the revisionist history is 100% accurate, right? They kind of touched on it in Hawkeye too during the Avenger musical (which also included Antman). I think believing that the truth gets warped by the public and random avengers are given different credit for events is downright great. As for the public knowing about Marvel, I'd assume in the five years during the blip she might have had a few adventures on Earth replacing the Avengers.
The issue here is that even after the Snap the Avengers weren't gone; the "core group" was still alive and at least Cap and Black Widow were actually active... Hawkeye was too technically. And "Endgame" itself quite directly stated that Captain Marvel was handling "the universe", not Earth. Carol's exploits aren't really known and people don't have any, actual basis for knowing who she is other than the words of other Avengers; Ant-Man is sorta public since the second movie, it's not that strange that he's somewhat recognized, but Captain Marvel is not an Earth-bound hero at this point. An "earthling" hero-worshipping her is just out of place... it's like a regular human would hero-worship Starlord.

To which she runs "not likely" and then rocket raccoon makes a snarky remark. This implies she made an effort to be Earthside since then and has at least taken care of a few bad guys. Tony was retired, nothing suggested Cap was active in Avengers. Thor was drunk, Hawkeye was using a new alias and hiding his face. Hulk was dealing with his merging. Face it, the people Black Widow video chatted with were what was left.

Now if Kamala actually does make references to Carol's exploits on Earth (let them even be off-screen ones) it's a bit of another story. Going strictly by the movies, we really don't have any reason to believe she's known to the general public. By "active" I meant that they were alive mostly and on Earth; whether their exploits are known (or if there are any) is not that big a deal for the topic at hand: Avengers fought the Chitauri in New York... they fought Ultron in Sokovia... and that is outside their adventures in solo movies. They ARE known to general public; this we know for a fact. In "Endgame" we even see kids coming up to Hulk to get a selfie or whatever and that does make sense (regardless to how stupid I think that was and how degading for Hulk/Banner as a character in the source material). The Avengers are very much public figures; even without fighting Thanos people know who they are, whether they "worship" them or not. Again we are not shown Captain Marvel doing anything really public in the MCU. At best we can assume she did stuff; that's not really the same and it seems the show itself is not confirming such assumption. That is the problem in my opinion.
@@Kewryn In the Hawkeye show, there's an Avengers musical. Captain Marvel was probably a character in that, and that's what Kamala knows. The stories inflated themselves to the point where it's where it is now. She's probably in in-universe video games and in-universe movies, too.
I think you nailed the breakdown here Thorias. It seems like the writers wanted to keep to Kamala's idolization of Danvers, but they have rushed the timeline so much (to check some boxes) that we havent had time in the MCU for Captain Marvel to develop. Seems sloppy.
the most unbelievable aspect of the show would have been driving into manhattan from jersey city . you can get into manhattan in like 20 minutes from jersey city. parking in manhattan is super expensive. it would have cost them 60 or 70 bucks to park.
I think the show is portraying her UA-cam videos are the ravings of a fangirl. It's not supposed to be diegetically factual. This happens in real life too. You like a celebrity and then you over-hype him/her.
I found it lightly entertaining. Even nearly got to the end before going for a woke point, but it's in the end credit graphics ("Change is HERe" sigh). If you haven't watched it yet, be aware there is a post end credit scene that is relevant.
The powers reminds me to much of Marvel's "Green Lantern" character, Doctor Spectrum. Same color scheme on the constructs. Not purple, multi-colored, a rainbow. So far, the powers are literally the same, hard-light constructs. Hopefully the bauble doesn't start communicating with her.
It’s taken me days to watch this first episode. A lot of these shows coming out are a chore to watch. I miss the Netflix days when there may just be a show like Iron Fist that was a chore to watch.

Still the parents do try in their own way to bend their rules to let her have what she wants but it’s not the full freedom she wants. I mean she is still a kid so parents will parent. The show isn’t amazing, honestly it’s just passable but considering falcon and the winter solider and Wanda vision and the bs in them this is refreshing down to earth low scale slice of life stuff. At least so far. No bs “they don’t know what you sacrificed” or “you’ve got to do better senator” bs in the first episode.
I skipped falcon and winter soldier, wandavision, Shang chi, and Loki, I kinda liked Mando but also skipped the book of Boba Fett, and am regretting watching Kenobi. But this, this is the hardest pass of them all.

What I don't get: the MCU has already made shifts in mentor/inspiration with their characters: up until "No Way Home" uncle Ben wasn't even mentioned by Spiderman (or - at least - I missed it) and Peter instead looked up to Iron Man/Tony Stark... the prime (meaning one in the center of things that are happing NOW) Ant-Man for this universe is Scott Lang, not Hank Pym... I get that "Ms Marvel" takes her name SPECIFICALLY due to Carol, but this is why I have stated that it's a stupid idea to bring this character into MCU at this point: Captain Marvel is barely a thing on Earth in this universe. no not really; she just happened to BE at the convention; she coulda put that bracelet on anywhere and acquired her powers. In the comics and in the video game; it was an event that happened which resulted in the Terregen Mist to escape and infect a whole lot of people. Here, its just a bracelet in a cardboard box along with other old family trinkets mailed to her house from grandma which her mom said 'was just junk and she told Kamala's older brother to store in the attic but Kamala went up there later anyway to take it to use for her cosplay outfit because the judges said to 'add something of yourself to your cosplay outfit to make it uniquely you' for the competition. And she put the bracelet on AT the convention which is what activated it once she put it on. So yeah she coulda put it on the way to said convention or even at her house right in front of her mom when she first saw it stil woulda happened.

The bracelet didn't have to activate there, no, but it is a good way to have ti happen and gives a backdrop for the Captain Marvel obsession that everyone seems to have a problem with. That's like picking on a kid because they like Heracross more than Shuckle. But collectively picking on the kid like literally scratching this kid with branches just for preferring a certain Pokemon. And not even other kids doing this, no LITERAL adults scratching and scratching because they feel like it. Heracross is a popular Pokemon so kind of a silly exampple. Let's say Volbeat instead. The kid in my examle prefers Volbeat over Shuckle. And you're all attacking him. That is what you're doign to Kamalka, because SHE likes Captain Marvel. It doesnt' matter how YOU personally feel about her. She isn't even aruging that a certain movie is her favorite or something, these aren't movies in the MCU. That at least could ruffle some feathers, but this? This is comppletely harmless.

About the last things that you said, it's kind of funny how your perspective changes as an adult compared to a child. The whole "parents just don't understand" mindset simply doesn't work when you know personally (and maybe even by experience) what said parents have to sacrifice in order for you to live even a moderately comfortable life. And these kids also are usually very diligent at school. Motives are usually tht they feel really bad for their mother who works hard everyday to feed and raise them as best as the mother can. Well, "WandaVision" was pretty good up until the last, few episode, so they showed they can be competent at least. Sadly that's as good as I can say about Disney+ shows... from those I watched; after "Hawkeye" I just said goodbye to MCU as a whole... it was fun while it lasted

Scott was trapped for 5 years since before the snap so he has no idea what actually happened during the events of infinity war or the start of end game, at which point Captain Bit... I MEAN Captain Marvel was already back in space after fury sent out the sos. And her movie takes place in the 90's when he would be a criminal, so I doubt shield was giving him top secret information about 2 alien invasions happening. So how would Scott have ANY information. And during end game, at that part he was in the van trying to fix the time machine in his van, so he wouldn't have seen her even near Thanos. This whole thing wreaks of Propaganda.

I guess there was some kind of government hearing where the heroes had to explain what happened. Similar to John Walker explaining what happened with his ordeal in Falcon & the Winter Soldier. Or Tony explaining himself in the first and 2nd Iron Man movies.

I didn't have any expectations for the show, the trailers were "neat" but nothing spectacular. I completely loved the first episode, the energy and the positivity and the genuine characters and really can't wait to see all episodes.

Carol has a great advertising and PR team on Earth, that she is in contact with even light years away. That is how people know about outfits. She also sends the pictures to her team to keep her in the Public mind.

NO, it was so much cooler to see the girl who doesn't like the Avengers show up also dressed as Captain Marvel, rather than people not knowing who she is. And the whole cosplay contest scene which reveals her powers couldn't work if she wasn't on stage with other Captain Marvel cosplayers. Also a lot of these comments are from people who didn't watch the episode but are forming their opinions on it based on this UA-cam video. I cannot stress this enough, seriously, episode one of Ms. Marvel is NOT as painful to watch as people are acting like it is. Seriously, if people want cringe they can turn on that Fairly Oddparents live-action show.

If this were being handled by competent people, they could have her causing problems at the con getting media attention because there's no way it wouldn't have been caught on camera. Once the footage got out, she could get a visit from Nick Fury or maybe Maria Hill to find out how she got ahold of what must be some kind of advanced weapon. If not them then someone else, and they could be investigating what happened, and the writers could use that to build tension throughout the season as the investigator tries to learn her identity. It could up the stakes for her character. I dunno. Just an idea.

People literally were screaming how excited they were for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Them not liking it is an AFTERMATH. And also no one had seen it before release day not even critics. And on top of that there were two episodes released first day whereas only Hawkeye and Wandavision really did that of their high IP shows, and Wandavision being the first Marvel one and being sitcomy, which the trailers implied, wasn't fully invitational to everyone at that point.
As for the second part of your post, yes that is a problem Disney has now and it's about to happen with ANOTHER space property, Lightyear. But that still has nothing to do with the record Disney claims that Obi-Wan Kenobi holds. The same is true for Moon Knight, what they said was it was the most clicked on Marvel show release day, bu t then they said that Loki was their most watched Marvel show of all. Those are two different things, the second does not contradict the other.
I don't know why so many people think this bracelet is the nega bands or the quantum bands. There should be two of them, but this bracelet is the only thing giving her powers.

I do not like the . Spider-Man TAS, X-MEN TAS, Justice League, Static Shock, Generator Rex, Ben 10,Tron Uprising, Earth's Mightiest Heroes etc....they were cartoons. They were for kids. But they still offered well written heroes and villains that people of all ages could enjoy and appreciate. And the way Marvel treats heroism...(Marvel treats it as child's play).....i am not willing to give them a pass. There are times when the target audience excuse works but this is not one of those times.

I mean... the revisionist history is 100% accurate, right? They kind of touched on it in Hawkeye too during the Avenger musical (which also included Antman). I think believing that the truth gets warped by the public and random avengers are given different credit for events is downright great. As for the public knowing about Marvel, I'd assume in the five years during the blip she might have had a few adventures on Earth replacing the Avengers.
The issue here is that even after the Snap the Avengers weren't gone; the "core group" was still alive and at least Cap and Black Widow were actually active... Hawkeye was too technically. And "Endgame" itself quite directly stated that Captain Marvel was handling "the universe", not Earth.
Carol's exploits aren't really known and people don't have any, actual basis for knowing who she is other than the words of other Avengers; Ant-Man is sorta public since the second movie, it's not that strange that he's somewhat recognized, but Captain Marvel is not an Earth-bound hero at this point. An "earthling" hero-worshipping her is just out of place... it's like a regular human would hero-worship Starlord.
@@Kewryn In end game, she was in communication with Black Widow who was running the Avengers. She asks Carol "Are we seeing you next month?" To which she runs "not likely" and then rocket raccoon makes a snarky remark. This implies she made an effort to be Earthside since then and has at least taken care of a few bad guys. Tony was retired, nothing suggested Cap was active in Avengers. Thor was drunk, Hawkeye was using a new alias and hiding his face. Hulk was dealing with his merging. Face it, the people Black Widow video chatted with were what was left.

Now if Kamala actually does make references to Carol's exploits on Earth (let them even be off-screen ones) it's a bit of another story. Going strictly by the movies, we really don't have any reason to believe she's known to the general public.
By "active" I meant that they were alive mostly and on Earth; whether their exploits are known (or if there are any) is not that big a deal for the topic at hand: Avengers fought the Chitauri in New York... they fought Ultron in Sokovia... and that is outside their adventures in solo movies. They ARE known to general public; this we know for a fact.
In "Endgame" we even see kids coming up to Hulk to get a selfie or whatever and that does make sense (regardless to how stupid I think that was and how degading for Hulk/Banner as a character in the source material). The Avengers are very much public figures; even without fighting Thanos people know who they are, whether they "worship" them or not.
Again we are not shown Captain Marvel doing anything really public in the MCU. At best we can assume she did stuff; that's not really the same and it seems the show itself is not confirming such assumption. That is the problem in my opinion.
@@Kewryn In the Hawkeye show, there's an Avengers musical. Captain Marvel was probably a character in that, and that's what Kamala knows. The stories inflated themselves to the point where it's where it is now. She's probably in in-universe video games and in-universe movies, too.

I think you nailed the breakdown here Thorias. It seems like the writers wanted to keep to Kamala's idolization of Danvers, but they have rushed the timeline so much (to check some boxes) that we havent had time in the MCU for Captain Marvel to develop. Seems sloppy.
the most unbelievable aspect of the show would have been driving into manhattan from jersey city . you can get into manhattan in like 20 minutes from jersey city. parking in manhattan is super expensive. it would have cost them 60 or 70 bucks to park.

I found it lightly entertaining. Even nearly got to the end before going for a woke point, but it's in the end credit graphics ("Change is HERe" sigh). If you haven't watched it yet, be aware there is a post end credit scene that is relevant.
The powers reminds me to much of Marvel's "Green Lantern" character, Doctor Spectrum. Same color scheme on the constructs.
Not purple, multi-colored, a rainbow.
So far, the powers are literally the same, hard-light constructs.
Hopefully the bauble doesn't start communicating with her.

It’s taken me days to watch this first episode. A lot of these shows coming out are a chore to watch. I miss the Netflix days when there may just be a show like Iron Fist that was a chore to watch.
Damn. So I got ribbed on another channel for saying this looked like it might be cute for a certain preteen girl audience, and it sounds like that’s what it was designed for. Not sure how big that audience is.
Also, I was an undiagnosed ADHD girl who was obsessed with comics when I was her age, so that seems to fit, but that was also 40+ years ago when they thought girls didn’t have ADHD.

Her family are traditional and don’t let her live like most teens they push the idea she can’t be like others. People outside of that treat her like any other person. Her love of captain marvel makes senses in context. She came out of nowhere in endgame punched a spaceship out the sky and punched the big purple man in the face. It’s all she knows and she finds that awesome.

@@legojay14 the world seems to be treating her pretty well tbh. She’s a weirdo and people see her as strange but she’s not hated cause she’s female or a Muslim. She’s full on head in the clouds. One minute she’s day dreaming about being perfect the next she comes back down to earth and understands she won’t be able to do a thing. She feels like she couldn’t be a hero because her family and community are traditional and want her to stick to their culture and be a normal Muslim girl. They also hint at her Nan being a bit loopy or delusional and that’s why her mom is more critical of her, she’s scared that her daughter will end up like her mom. Still the parents do try in their own way to bend their rules to let her have what she wants but it’s not the full freedom she wants. I mean she is still a kid so parents will parent.
The show isn’t amazing, honestly it’s just passable but considering falcon and the winter solider and Wanda vision and the bs in them this is refreshing down to earth low scale slice of life stuff. At least so far. No bs “they don’t know what you sacrificed” or “you’ve got to do better senator” bs in the first episode.

I skipped falcon and winter soldier, wandavision, Shang chi, and Loki, I kinda liked Mando but also skipped the book of Boba Fett, and am regretting watching Kenobi.

What I don't get: the MCU has already made shifts in mentor/inspiration with their characters: up until "No Way Home" uncle Ben wasn't even mentioned by Spiderman (or - at least - I missed it) and Peter instead looked up to Iron Man/Tony Stark... the prime (meaning one in the center of things that are happing NOW) Ant-Man for this universe is Scott Lang, not Hank Pym... I get that "Ms Marvel" takes her name SPECIFICALLY due to Carol, but this is why I have stated that it's a stupid idea to bring this character into MCU at this point: Captain Marvel is barely a thing on Earth in this universe.
And this could be done like - say - Kamala actually running into Captain Marvel; even a brief encounter would justify her hero-worship more than a podcast she heard about a character she never saw or can't even really confirm exists. In MCU the basis for her superhero persona just doesn't make sense.
But I don't watch the show, I don't care about MCU anymore really, so... meh.

no not really; she just happened to BE at the convention; she coulda put that bracelet on anywhere and acquired her powers. In the comics and in the video game; it was an event that happened which resulted in the Terregen Mist to escape and infect a whole lot of people.
Here, its just a bracelet in a cardboard box along with other old family trinkets mailed to her house from grandma which her mom said 'was just junk and she told Kamala's older brother to store in the attic but Kamala went up there later anyway to take it to use for her cosplay outfit because the judges said to 'add something of yourself to your cosplay outfit to make it uniquely you' for the competition. And she put the bracelet on AT the convention which is what activated it once she put it on. So yeah she coulda put it on the way to said convention or even at her house right in front of her mom when she first saw it stil woulda happened.

The bracelet didn't have to activate there, no, but it is a good way to have ti happen and gives a backdrop for the Captain Marvel obsession that everyone seems to have a problem with. That's like picking on a kid because they like Heracross more than Shuckle. But collectively picking on the kid like literally scratching this kid with branches just for preferring a certain Pokemon. And not even other kids doing this, no LITERAL adults scratching and scratching because they feel like it.
Heracross is a popular Pokemon so kind of a silly exampple. Let's say Volbeat instead. The kid in my examle prefers Volbeat over Shuckle. And you're all attacking him. That is what you're doign to Kamalka, because SHE likes Captain Marvel. It doesnt' matter how YOU personally feel about her.
She isn't even aruging that a certain movie is her favorite or something, these aren't movies in the MCU. That at least could ruffle some feathers, but this? This is comppletely harmless.

This one doesnt paint Kamala as a victiml; or having someone she loves become a victim and she must learn through that loss to rise above and become a hero; just someone lucky enough to stumble onto an artifact that makes her dreams come true. Thats very anti-typical of Marvel hero origin stories; and it doesnt make you sympathize with the character at all.
