RIP Dicky Betts 😔. The Fillmore was one of the first albums I owned.
I have to say Blue Sky is my favorite DB tune.
Good to see you again STB, you were one of the first reactors I watched.

You just know it’s gonna be a better day when Wayne does up an artist like no one else on UA-cam does!
Wayne I just saw the notification, and nudged Kimberly and said “Baby! Wayne’s back!”
You just made my day! But to actually get shouted out by you again???
Mana from heaven brother, mana from heaven! 😉❤🏆🏆🏆
Post Script: Thank you for your service Wayne! You are EXACTLY the kind of person we need in such a position! 🇺🇸

Thanks Michael. I like the short you did about Foreigner and Kiss barely having original members on tour. Yet they overcharge. Shameful. We fans have to stop paying those high prices.

I guess it was a short time you were a music reactor (three years?) but it was a rich time, filled with good things for all of us. For which I am very grateful, and for which I still thank you. 👋

I was fortunate to see the complete band in summer 1971. Could not bear to see them after Duane died, until I heard Derek Trucks, that was my epiphany. So I was fortunate to see them through the Beacon runs and a couple of times in Atlanta. My favorite all time time band, still listen to Fillmore East almost every day. RIP Dickey Betts, one of the best!

What? They picked up the pieces and released some of their best material after Duane passed and Chuck Level joined. Jessica to name just one. Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman were the Allmans for me . Even when Duane was around. And Barry of course.

I've known the Allman brothers most of my life, and it wasn't till I was listening to reactions that my love for those guys has become more intense. I appreciate your work on this "the most beautiful music of the 70s!"

I saw the Allman Brothers at the Chicago Theater about a decade ago. My brother is big fan and I bought tickets last minute. I knew they would be good but I was still blown away by the show. I even ended up recording a good chunk of it on my phone. So glad I got to see them. One of the best concerts I’ve been too. #I’mtherealshit… and so are you.

Favorite is “Blue Sky” written for his wife Sandy Blue Sky. But I have to say I love them all, I’ve always been a fan of the guitar man in the cowboy hat. This one hit me hard, Dickey signed a guitar for me at a show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ. I own many guitars, there’s only one I’ll never sell.
PS: nice to see you back!#I’m the real shit, o loved your reaction to “Call it Stormy Monday”

I first saw them in 71, and knew there was nothing else out there like ABB. Dicky and Duane were meant for each other, I can't say one was better than the other because they were both on a different plane, but yet played as one. there will never be another Dicky Betts. Miss him already.

Never saw them in person but I do recall exactly where I was, when the LA area rock station announced that Dwain had died.
Still one of my all time favorites songs, is “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”… in 73 ish it was the daytime theme song of my residence…. And I’ve been around a while

Believe it or not I emailed Spero a month ago,
I am obsessed with Jessica and Ramblin man and often send texts with these two songs to friends and family.
Most aren’t as crazy about these songs as I am. However my brother texted me back and wrote “ Sir Dickey Betts”
When I told David Spero he emailed me back saying “ That made Dickey’s day.
Was just kind of neat, is all!

My favorite instrumental ever is Jessica but not this uptempo version.
1884 live is closer to the studio version. I’m VERY “ picky” about my Jessica, lol!
I’ve been obsessed with this song since 1978!
Same with Ramblin Man! The 1981 version ( same concert) is the best.
    He’s overplaying here.
