Yamaha hit a home run with the CP2 engine and its bullet proof, reliable 💯. Iam at almost 10k miles on my MT07 never had any problems or issues with it.
The lack of tech actually keeps the cost of the MT-07 down. I like that. I don't think a lot of tech is required on that bike for its intended purpose.
You should try Tracer 700 - its mt07 with more fairings. Its not as agressive ergonomics as r7 and more comfortable than mt07 becasue of fairings and higher handlebars. And CP2 engine is also used it Tenere 700.
So if I have a 2018 Mt07 like the one here but I have swapped to clip'ons, added adjustable rear sets, and upgraded the suspension. Is it worth getting an R7 if i wanted to get a true sport bike or should I be looking at a R6 or something more like that?
The power will be the same. You are trading riding positions and fully adjustable suspension. With a sport bike you have to rev the shit out of it. It won’t have that low end torque the MT07 has. I would recommend upgrading to the MT09 or MT10
R7 is inaccurate. It’s more like an MT-07R. With the retirement of the R6, the R1 stands by itself. Forget the R3. Yamaha is just using the R moniker to sell bikes.
The confusion comes from Yamaha. On their website, the r7 is categorized as a "supersport" even though its riding position is the only semi "supersport" thing about it. Yamaha goes against the other Three by not having a regular "street" sport class (green Z, yellow gsx, red cbr), which the r7 should ACTUALLY be categorized under. And it doesn't help that they stopped selling the r6. Yamaha has created this clusterf*** and it's no one's fault but their own. They can either fix their flawed naming system, or they will hear the negative comments about this bike being a subpar replacement to the r6 for ages to come. My guess is that it will be the latter.
650 class vs 600. Obviously SS 600s are actual sport/track bikes. This bike isn’t meant for someone seeking a 600 class sport bike. This is competing against CBR650r or it’s sister CP2 bikes

due shortage of yamaha factories supply chain. used are more expensive than new one.
Ordered my R7 parts from TST and they came this week! Excited for the R7!
how's it going
The headlights on both are actually very similar now. I think you are comparing a 2021 R7 to a 2020 MT-07, right?
He clearly said my 2018 MT07

unfortunately we don't get the tracer 700 in the US market. Would have loved one cause that bike looks good
@@larriwithay Really? F Yamaha! I hate this region segregation. I see no reason for this kind of practices.
Do you have a video on your mto7? On all the modifications you did to it.
Some new TST mirrors for the MT would be awesome 😎
Xsr700…thanks for the front signals TsT
Is it possible to retro-fit the R7 quick shifter for the 2021 MT07?

Yamaha r7 vs Yamaha r1m plis 🙏
is the r7 and mt07 use the same frame?
Yes, it's the same frame
Is the transmission the same between both?
Mt 07 is better looking.
Also my back feels a lot better riding mt07.
Great points!
If you need to ask, get the mt
MT-07F… the “F” stands for fender lol

Silly, the R7 is a sportbike... sooo...
sportbike with 2 cylinders not as fast as supersport with 4. therefore r6 better
