I modified this a little, as I'm not a coffee drinker. 8 oz almond milk, 2.5 tbs cacao, 2 tbs coconut milk, 2 tbs monkfruit powder, 2 tbs heavy whipping cream. Simmered over low heat in a saucepan stirred until everything was combined. Great hot cocoa on a rainy day! 183 cal, 17.9g fat, 8.9g carbs, 3.9g protein.
I'm not a coffee drinker, so I make "Titanium Tea" instead of bulletproof coffee (started with a recipe and modified it). 12 oz or so boiling water; 1 tbsp each Kerry Gold, cacao, MCT oil; green tea bag (and I add a prebiotic). Once the tea steeps and butter melts, mix it very well (with a frother if you have one), then I add 1-2 tbsp Onnit mocha-flavored fulvic minerals and some almond milk to taste/cool. Tastes like hot chocolate to me - 2g carb, 1g protein, 270 cal from good fats - great way to start the day...
Just went out and bought all the ingredients to make this drink. Thomas, you understated how awesome this drink taste. I could not believe how good it tasted. I thought I was drinking a chocolate milkshake from Baskin Robbins. Please give us more recipe videos.
Tim Noakes did a variation of this which I use as my breakfast on-the-go which has about 200ml coconut cream, 50g butter, 200ml milk, 50ml cream cocoa, and pink salt. After this I pretty much go through the day and I often don’t need lunch. As a post workout I sometimes a scoop of whey and 5g of creatine.
FANTASTIC! I’m going to put this on my list of things to try. Great tip about the Carrageenan, thank you. I guess I should look into other foods it can be hidden in as well. As ever, Kudos to you Thomas, I look forward to ALL of your content and information. Addendum I forgot to say thanks for the tip on choosing the correct coconut milk by shaking the can... I LOVE tricks like that!!!
Love this video style, it makes it a little easier to follow and absorb all the science (even though that's why I wanted to watch this). Please do more!
Excellent video, I like when you take the time to slow down and show us the product label & discuss the important ingredients to avoid & the ones to buy. The trips to the store are good, the products clearly laid out on your kitchen countertop is very good.
Thanks for talking about the carrageenan, I didn't know it was inflammatory! I like the lifestyle format and would like to see more like this. But don't abandon the kitchen videos! Some of both is good. Thanks!
Yes please, your schedule, what you eat in a day, carry with you, how you get your water in. Thank you Thomas. The science is fascinating and I love it too. Always, Suzy
I'm an American expat living in Europe and actually found packets of the Four Sigmatic line in the health food store by my house. I tried all of them and I'm a convert - thanks for the heads up! Plus, this hot chocolate was freakin' delicious. I used unsweetened cashew milk (no iffy ingredients), and it was way better than anything I've ever had at Starbucks...
Also. An Idea for a future vid if people like it. The benefits of hot vs cold water, when taking a shower and how that affects health and muscle recovery. Also cold vs room temperature water and how that may affect your health (digestion, nutrient absorbtion, etc.) which temperature is best for what. I've posted a comment like this a fee months ago but to make sure this is considered I'll post it again. Great vid!!
You are awesome! You and Dr. Eric Berg are the ones who got me both into IF and Ketosis and I struggled a little at first with the cravings but finding these little ways to kick the cravings without kicking ketosis are just awesome. I'm still not very good with mixing my diet up but these tips really help a lot. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU THOMAS! I LOVE 💕 💓💓💓LO VE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I AM NEW TO YOUR CHANNEL I WILL TRY THIS RECIPE WITH MY 9 YRS OLD DAUGHTER SHE IS DOING KETO WITH ME SHE WILL LOVE THIS CLEAN DRINK INSTEAD OF CRAPPY HOT CHOCOLATIER WITH A TON OF SUGAR AND CALORIES! THANK YOU A NEW RECIPE ON OUR KETO MENU ✅
love these real life videos... I travel ALL the time so learning what you do when you're on the go is helpful. I'm still putting together what I should keep in my travel bags as must haves and what I can get when I land in different places. Thanks for all your help!
Totally love this video!! I work in Freshmart as a cashier (Puerto Rico's equivalent of whole foods) and this type of video totally helps me out with what things I should keep an eye out for but also the science totally helps me recommend to people what is best for they're diets when they ask me. Thanks you Thomas for your work and keep up this amazing content!!
I love it when you do these types of videos. Love the science coupled with the lifestyle combo. Love seeing how and why you choose one item over another. Would love to see more of these videos.
I got a cacao, ashwaganda and mushroom blend, usually just add it to my bulletproof coffee but I'm going to try this! Looks yummy. I have quite a few things in my pantry now that I never even heard of before, watching your channel. It was tricky at first, I live in South Africa, but found a great online store, now I try most of your recipes and they're great
yea these vlogging style videos are the best. gives us good insight into your purchasing decisions. more "a day in the life" and "grocery hauls" where you show us how you shop at whole foods and trader joe's would be awesome for 2019 and beyond.
Hey Thomas! Thanks for the video I enjoy the shopping and explantion of why one product over another and what they do to the body. Thanks again and just so you know I've been loving intermittent fasting!
Thanks to you I always check for carrageenan! And I did not know what the difference was between cocoa and cacao powder! I think I'll make a little cuppa this using cashew milk. I just got it today and have never tried it.
More like this please. I like all your videos that I’ve watched so far but would also like to see more recipes and workout related and lifestyle videos. Thanks so much!
Love it when you post recipes. Going to try this with my husband and son. We're going strong. Started in July and have lost a whole person already between the three of us. (120 lbs). And my husband has been taken off all diabetic meds by his Dr. Thanks for all the info and help Thomas .
Thomas I'm going to try this, I already make my coffee every morning with 1tbs of cacao, not a big fan of bulletproof but I do like everyonce in a while add roasted pecan oil. 1.5 tsp to give it a nutty flavor. Keep up these type of recipes as well. You already got me on turmeric powder. 👊
For the same reason you got Bamboozled with the stevia, would be an awesome video idea as to possibly go shopping and looking at all the ingredients lists and how to properly pick things out at the grocery store. There's so many ingredients I can't even pronounce and wonder what's good or not.
Love the follow along videos to see what I can apply real life! Also love to mimic huge portion of what you do and I truly believe that’s what’s creating my ongoing success! I’m down 34 lbs as of today (3/12/19) from starting keto on 2/7/19! Thanks Thomas!
Thomas this is great! That Mocha drink looks amazing!! I'd love to see more keto grocery hauls! YOU have changed my life tremendously with your advice and knowledge I cant thank you enough!🙏🙏🙌❤❤❤
I do like the more follow along videos! It grabs my attention a little more bc I will have to be going to the store looking for items. This way I see what you purchase! The only stevia I buy is sweetleaf due to the fact I know it's all stevia!
If you loved this video, you may also want to know that Chocolate can get a bad rap because of all the added sugar it may contain. However, dark chocolate or raw cocoa nibs have 0-maybe 6 g of added sugar, if you’re buying 80-95% cocoa. Always check the ingredient label to see how much added sugar is present, and consider buying dark chocolate or raw cocoa nibs!
Please more videos like this Thomas!!! I really enjoyed it !! It would also be really nice right your made a complete grocery haul and also a video teaching us how to read labels at the grocery store!!! Thank you so much for the great content you put out there man !!
If you liked this video, you may also want to know that there are a number of steps to making chocolate! First, cocoa beans are picked from the tree. At this stage, the beans are white and gooey. The beans are fermented for 2 weeks and left to dry. Once dry, the beans have turned brown! The dried beans are roasted to create more flavor, and finally, made into chocolate products!
I love it that you are a 'real' person and make mistakes like me. Its the 1st Jan 2019 and my New Years Resolution is to watch your channel, become a part of the Keto group and get fit. Happy New Year from Down Under and I wish you and your followers a very blessed and Happy New Year.
Love making hot cocoa like this!! I was siked when four sigmatic came out with the hot chocolate packets, they need to make it in the tins so I can buy more and save the waste! Thanks for the vid thomas, always love the nutrition science
love this style of video as well. not that there was any doubt, but these follow-along videos humanize and bridge the gaps between you and us. Adds a bit more belief that change is possible
If you enjoyed this video, you may also be interested to know that Chocolate sometimes gets a bad rap because chocolate products can include a lot of added sugar. Sometimes, there’s even up to 50g of added sugar in one chocolate bar! For context, the World Health Organization recommends staying under 25 g (or 6 teaspoons) of added sugar per day!
Great recipe! I’ll definitely try it. Thanks for the follow-along style. I really like that format with all the extra info. you provide along the way. Your videos keep getting better and better!
As always, Thomas, thanks for keeping it both positive and new. I love the new recipes. I especially love the product reviews and warnings. Keep it coming. Please.
The heading says Hot Chocolate but you did it cold and that is great, I was just thinking yesterday I need a cold KETO chocolate/coffee recipe for the summer time! Thank you.

Thanks for sharing! To add to this, sometimes there’s peppermint oil included in chocolate. Did you know that peppermint oil can improve gut distension, pain, gas, and constipation? However, if you have acid reflux, peppermint oil is not recommended, as it can make acid reflux worse.
Yes I really enjoyed this video. The only thing I ask is if you can show the brands that are good. Because what happened to you with the Stevia happens to me a lot. So it would make my shopping go smooth if you can just share a close up of the items you are using. And it looks delicious and I’ll definitely like to make some 😊
I appreciate the follow along video very much. You continue to be one of my top favorites to consult on many things. Thank you very much for your gracious speech as well. As a listener I feel dignified by your manner. Speaking "on par" with your audience (we're not dumb) as well as not stooping to profanity or other lazy speech patterns in an effort to be more "cool". Honestly, that's why I've continued to listen to you. When I first saw you I thought you'd be a "typical" gym guy with foul speech and bad manners. I was so wrong and what a pleasant surprise! You broke the mold 😎 So I continue to hear you along with Dr. Mercola, Berg, Axe, Douillard and Sun Fruit Dan: all very dignified in their speech and treating their audiences with that form of respect. Thanks again. My best regards to your darling family, too!
Love these videos!! On top of your others as well. This particular type shows me how to prepare and stay on keto when trapped at an office with a deadline. Thank you, Thomas.
Thomas, I totally dig these kind of segments. As an older Keto guy, I'm looking to lose weight but not some of the things I've enjoyed, like hot chocolate! These little life hacks are fantastic! Many thanks! Also--love the Four Sigmatic products!
Enjoyed this video and would like to see more of them with you in the grocery store showing us how you go about choosing your ingredients. Especially would like you to show us with very little money how we can shop well if organic is out of reach. Perhaps an organic v non-organic and when organic is "absolutely essential".
@ThomasDeLauer can you do a video on the different compounds Foursigmatic uses how that effect you and when used how long it takes to notice a difference on average from each compound. Thanks!
8 Oz Almond Milk, 2 TBS Cacoa, 2 TBS coconut Milk, 1/2 Tsp stevia, 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt, 1 tsp coffee
coconut Milk or coconut cream? didnt he say cream at the store? and if its milk, how come its so solid?
@@arktana coconut milk or cream but he picked up the full fat coconut milk. You want it more solid at room temperature.
But this has lots of carbohydrates how is it keto ???
@@ffsteel111 if u cnount per 100 g its like 5 -10 g and he use maybe like 70 g

You can put the rest of the coconut milk into an ice cube tray, freeze, and then place the cubes into a Ziploc for future use.
