marsha wooten anytime within your eating window, preferably close to a meal regardless of whether you do it before or after. These aren’t for everyday consumption anyway, just when you’re not meeting your fat requirements for the day. Because they’re actually incredibly satiating and heavy on your stomach so they might throw you off a little bit by suppressing hunger to the point where you’re not hungry enough for you actual meal, which is where you should be getting most of your nutrients.

      How much dark chocolate?

  • @Stu412t

Thomas. Can I suggest that you melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. This will keep the chocolate more smooth and silky and not clump up. Just trying to help mate.

use a double boiler or put a bowl of a pot of boiling water and you can put the bowl over the water to melt the oil and the chocolate and pull it off when it melts and then just put it back on for a short time as needed and avoid burning that doing in the pan that he used in the demonstration.

My thoughts exactly - chocolate should never be melted directly on the heat and water should not be added to melted chocolate. He should have melted the coconut oil first and added the coffee to it.

nice tip: put the melted mixture in a bowl and chill in the fridge. When solid, curl a bite sized piece off the top using a spoon
and drop it into a little plate with raw cacao. Roll the little ball around i the cacao to make a truffle. Wrap each ball in a little
piece of wrapper (greaseproof paper or something) and store in an airtight box in fridge or freezer.
I'm leaving the mint out though, I take mint oil capsules regularly

This is a great intense burst of flavor! I guessed at the chocolate and used Lilly's, so no more sweetener needed. I used coffee-flavored sugar-free syrup and, though I was out of peppermint extract, I added more mint. Now I've ordered the peppermint and coffee concentrate and more macadamias. Definitely will quadruple the recipe!

  • @Leelattimer

Thomas, use a double boiler so you don't scortch the chocolate. Put a pot of water on to boil, then place glass bowl (Pyrex or steel) over the pot. The heat from the steam will melt ingredients without burning or scortch. :) Thanks for the great content!

The water in the cold brew is what is causing the clumping, I am going to try it with instant espresso powder, or just ground beans, or make my own instant coffee. Water and oil don't mix without an emulsion.

Thomas, have you ever done a video on how to break a weight loss stall or plateau? I searched your videos but didn't see one. If not, would you consider making one? I've been on keto for just over 10 months now. I've lost almost 30 lbs and gone from a size 12 to a size 4/6, so I'm extremely happy. I would love to lose another 10 lbs or so to reach my goal, but I've just been ping-ponging between the same 3-4 lb range for the past 3 months or so, without really losing. I know the last 10 lbs tend to be the hardest to lose, so I would love to hear any suggestions you have for how to get my body back to burning its fat stores! Thank you! :)

Thomas, first of all I love your channel. But I have a question regarding body fat percentage for women. I heard that as a woman, you need a certain amount of fat percentage to keep the right monthly hormone cycle. If you get below, you might get into physical trouble: bone mass loss, pregnancy problems (direct and/or in the long term), and some other problems. I was wondering if you know more about this, because I can't find the proper research to back it up. Hope you can help me!

If you slightly burn your food Is it then bad for you because of the acrylamide produced? For example I roasted sweet potatoes in the oven with coconut oil and burnt them bit, are they still ok to eat without harming the body?

  • @artintelligence4973

    A secret tip ...
It you temper the chocolate with a double cast with boiling water water
" Maria bath" ., the chocolate does not gets burned.,
Also to place it in the tray you can use a small plastic bag., cut one small corner out and squeeze beautifully to the tray!!!
    Merci from Montreal !!
I love that baby., hope your Wife is fully recovered.

    • @Alansubocz
      @Alansubocz 7 років тому +2

Art Intelligence a bain Marie should have water BELOW a boil under the top pan. Boiling water will give a temperature too hot to melt the chocolate properly. Boiling water will produce steam that will escape and get into the chocolate above it.
Tempering chocolate is a different process.
Tempering chocolate is a process in which the temperature of the chocolate is manipulated. The results provide a glossy, smooth chocolate with a good “snap”.

Hey Thomas! I have a question for you!
So far I have lost 20lbs on keto, and have gained a fair amount of muscle. I noticed I'm getting some stretch marks under my arms and on my lats from muscle building. Would you recommend that I slow down my weight training, or just keep beasting out the workouts and then let the marks start healing?
So I guess what I'm asking is will the stretch marks be less noticeable If I gain them slowly, or just get it over with?
Love your channel! Thanks for helping me get in the best shape of my life!

    • @whyyousotriggered6050

Hey, Thomas many thanks for all this great information and advices. I’m doing intermittent fasting for 20 days until today, but unfortunately I didn’t notice big changes in my belly fat. I’m working out 5-6 days a week weight lifting for one hour. I start my work out at 7:30am and I’m taking usually C4 supplement as my pre-work out drink pulse one liquid scoop of L-cartinnine on empty stomach. Then I break my fast around 1:30pm - 2:00pm. Later on I take a snack at 6:30 and my last meal at 7:30pm. I drink 3L. Of water everyday and I am taking all my supplements such as OMG 3 EPA+DHA, (calcium, magnesium, zinc with vit. D) and CoQ10. All my food is around 1,700Cal. High with protein and fiber normal in fats and carbs. Am I doing it right and usually when can I see results??? Pls help

    • @rw9389
      @rw9389 6 років тому +1

If you take C4 (BHB) then why would your body produce its own? You have to burn through all that before your body will produce its own to burn.
CoQ10 is ATP energy. You are supplementing a lot of your energy, instead of letting your body create its own.
Break it up by throwing your body a curve ball with different calorie ranges at different times of day. Try not supplementing the same supplements each week, except for potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, vit D3, sea salt.

Hey Thomas! I love your videos. You are amazing at explaining the science behind the food! And you've help me a lot to get healthier. And I know I'm late to comment in this video but I hope you will read this. Can I ask you a huge favor? I need help to understand this (and I hope I don't mess this up, 'cause I'm not good with english).
Nowadays most salt brands sell it in the presentation "fluorinated iodized salt". It's also added to some brands of sea salt and pink Himalayan salt. I understand that iodine is a deficient mineral in many people's diet and is really necessary, but what about fluoride? I have read that it is another necessary mineral, it is good for the teeth (it is added to some brands of toothpaste, even added to water in some countries), but I have also read studies that show that it negatively affects the nervous system, specifically the part of the brain that processes emotions and the will, making us transform into zombies in a certain way.
My question is: What is true or false about this? How does fluoride consumption affect us?
I haven't seen all your videos, so I don't if you already have information about this.
    Thank you very much!

Thomas, you said that when you're in ketosis your gal bladder is kicking out a lot of bile. My wife has had her gal bladder removed. Will this hinder her weight loss? She's really struggling. We're both only 3 months in. My progress is phenomenal. Hers is very slow.

Hello.. I'm not sure if anyone asked this yet but I do not have a gall bladder and in video u mentioned that peppermint oil is good in digestion and helping with bile production... is it safe and still ok for those who dont have gall bladder?

Macadamia nuts have 0.2g of Omega 3 per 100g (3/4 US cup), compared to 1.3g of Omega 6. How is this 6:1 ratio good? PUFA should be kept to around 4%, so a pound of macadamia nuts would give you far too much Omega 6, no?
And what about the phytic acid you mentioned within nuts? Isn't it bad to combine them with anything you want to absorb?

You might want to try a pastry bag. Might even out a little better and less waste. Just letting you know.
