This is a terrific album. It's not your typical Steven Wilson album, but that's what makes it special. Love this song, my favorite so far.

The more I listen to it the more I love it. Sounds amazing in Dolby Atmos off the BluRay.
I can still hear all the links to previous albums in the sound of tracks so it is just another progression.
I think he knows how to use the platform he was blessed with to say what he needs to say. That’s good use of power

The family behind the politician are the big corporations. The politician's mask cannot be seen. Because he never exposes his mask. He must continue to dazzle the people. Or just to say: "We want your brains to pay for further educations" (Kingdom Come Arthur Brown - "Galactic Zoo Dossier", GB 1971)

The droney, Nine Inch Nails-y synth in the background is a sweet touch, the melody smells of Lightbulb Sun / Stupid Dream PT, production values are over the top... If this is the "sophisticated pop" he's going for, I'm on board.

I have to admit, as a long time fan, I was really nervous about steven changing direction, or should I say, expanding direction.
For me, how could it get better than his time with PT and Hand cannot erase?
I'm happy to say that the 5 singles from this upcoming album did not disappoint.
I'm so happy that the true essence of his gift has not dimmed, it has just been channeled differently but I LOVE it. I'm open to it.
Instead of forcing the new music to compete against the backdrop of the past, challenge yourself to just listen in the here and now, as if you're learning something new and different. And fans are.. We have a unique opportunity to get to know the musical prism that is Steven's music. Some will fall away, but others are just buckling up for the journey.
Oh my God, it sounds like a modern interpretation of the sound of Welcome To The Machine and the production is pristine. Can't wait to hear the whole album!
That's not quite the vibe I get, but I do like it. Though comparing this to Welcome to the Machine is a bit misplaced, lol. Very few songs ever are better than that.

Lo cierto es que aplica efectivamente para políticos, pero sobre todo para gente que hace parte del show-espectáculo-farándula: Actores, modelos, deportistas, músicos, influencer, etc... Y que vende una vida "perfecta, en su burbuja llena de amor", y no es así. Yo siempre he pensado que es muy díficil para un famoso(a) tener pareja; nunca sabrán por qué motivo están con ellos; bueno, eso le pasa también a muchas personas del común (por mi parte prefiero estar sola). La vida es muy jodida, solo nos queda el arte, el café, el vino, la luna, la noche, los libros, el buen cine, la lluvia y la buena música...

Smoooooooooth.. very chill, with swirling soundscapes bathing the listener in musical bliss. Very roadtrip worthy as a song and I'm sure.. the entire album.

"I'm really loving this! That atmosphere... those guitar chords... the psychedelic voice far away... It reminded me a lot of Dogs - pink floyd. The "red" part (from minute 2:00 ) of this " Man of the people", brought me there, to the "paranoia" part of Dogs (starts about minute 8, I always say that it seems someone is searching his lost dog at that part). "

This guys is one of the most relevant forms of art we have at the present moment. Amazing song.
It's hard to let our favorite artists grow from the works they made when we first found them. Bowie didn't keep making "Ziggy," Elvis Costello didn't keep making "My Aim is True," etc. Steven Wilson has moved on from Porcupine Tree. I do hope that still finds a place for some of those great songs in his repertoire

Sadly, I think that we've mythtified the classics so much that if The Future Bites was to be the closest thing to a modern Dark Side of The Moon or Wish You Were Here (and seems like that will be the case) critics would probably not admit it.

But like most good records since the past, it's the relevance of it musically and sonically with its ambition that makes it sound exciting even after many years later. Most music today works on the formula of "15 minutes of fame", and I'm glad Steven doesn't fall under that. I guess that's what happens when you make music with utmost integrity.

This song is very good, sounds influenced by Massive Attack, Tears For Fears, (old) Hooverphonic, and some Tangerine Dream ambient sounds.
To me, it sounds like Depeche Mode and kind of britpop.

OMG that phasey Solina in the background is awesome. A big nod to Pink Floyd, but the rest is new. No massive drum track, just simple kick and snare. The lyrics are poignant and relevant too. This is a song I can listen to for a long time and never get tired of. I love it.

Beautifully written and performed. One of the top three tracks released so far from the album, the other two being 12 things I forgot and personal shopper.
