Steven is the best musician and producer of the last 20 years period. This is just fantastic. Speechless. Bravo. It will go over so many heads but I hope it makes some noise. We need more of this.
I have seen this like 50 times and this is better than half the movies out there. Good music, good message, symbolism and ambiguous meanings. The other songs and videos do not measure up to this one. This is his best work ever.
Listeners, please read the description. The one thing I like the most about Steven Wilson is the way he elaborates his ideas/concepts musically and lyrically, be it the PT’s The Incident or this track. Brilliance personified.

This is one of the most brilliant pieces of art I've heard/seen lately. Modern-sounding synth pop mixed with disco elements. Catchy yet still able to pack a punch of social commentary. I love the choral parts and the psychedelic vibe. In the video, the expressions of the salespeople are unforgettable!
¡Muchas gracias Mr. Wilson! 💯🍷
I know it sounds silly but I feel like he wrote this song having the video in mind already. Black Friday and other consumerism strategies are idiotic, glad Steven shares this feeling. A world in which people only buy what they truly need would be, without a doubt, a much better world.
These are an excellent song and music video ! A great bravo to the actors and the direction ! What a clairvoyant and sensitive vision ! Steven Wilson, as many people, I'm really touched by all your work.
The Brilliance of SW and the people that created this video are astounding. Nothing like having a product narrative by Sir Elton John included. When you are a great lover of music, and a musician sometimes we over purchase gear to out shine the next guy. There will always be someone with better stuff. So go back to your basic self and ask, do I need to be someone else? Such a huge world of PPL that must satisfy vanity. Love how its captured here.
Weird, creepy, funny and very catchy: welcome to the highly versatile world of Steven Wilson where there's no such thing as a single genre, just all music with a meaning and story you can get behind.
I find it genius mixing the all together (art, storytelling, music, lyrics) it has a meaning, a life lessons for people to become more aware of what they do
It's got such a catchy beat too. I love that Steven does kind of different style than when he is in porcupine tree. Just like how Blackfield was different as well, simple songs about the pains of life, a girl leaving you after a summer fling type of music. Catchy and mainstream, would be a huuuuge hit if they had based the band in the states. He writes like everyone and no one else on earth at the same time it's fucking unreal how amazing he is... and his VOICE too. Not all amazing song writers are great singers or singers at all, what a gift to have such unique head voice. It's very very cool. The content of this song as well is very accessible and the meanings behind it are plain and clearly stated as opposed to mysterious like some of PT songs aren't totally always obvious about the theme and lesson he wants to impart on society. IMO I could hear a song like this coming from, say, Taylor Swift, easy - I mean Elton John DID read the spoken word interlude. So it's very multilayered and sounds amazing. His production value is always super high as well because he spends so much time in the studio mastering and stuff - way more imo than most musicians.
Had to be released on a Black Friday. The whole concept and marketing is great. Love the "Easter egg" for the limited edition box set, after he announced one a few days ago. Steven and his Midas touch man..

Lyrics:
Have now, have now, pay in another life
Kickstart the future, accept this loan
Fill in the form, you're pre-qualified
You're now the sum of what you own
Buy now, buy now, have a better life
Close out transactions without remorse
Apply for credit, it's your given right
Buy it all then buy some more
Buy for comfort, buy for kicks
Buy and buy until it makes you sick
Buy for England, buy it all
Buy online and in the shopping mall
Sell it on then buy it back
Buy the shit you never knew you lacked
Buy the update to compete
Buy the things that make your life complete
Consumer of life, hold my hand, extend your rights
It's the power to purchase to excess
That sets you apart and can give you the ultimate high
Abuser of time, if there's something that you want
You don't need it, but have to concede
It's making you happy and that's all that matters to you
Buy the box set and the kind of stuff
You've bought before a million times
Buy in green, buy in blue
Buy in patterns 'cause I tell you to
Buy the dream, buy the spin
Feel the bite down of the trap you're in
Buy the lies that I tell
Lap up everything I'm here to sell
Buy now, buy now, at a better price
Give in to excess, lose control
Just keep on spending, never compromise
Rack up more debt and fill that hole
Buy for comfort, buy for kicks
Buy and buy until it makes you sick
Buy for England, buy it all
Buy online and in the shopping mall
