I remember when a few years back I was getting into video game podcasts and a lot of people recommended the Bombcast but I didn't bother because it was too long. Now I see a 4h Frame Trap and I'm like: Sign me up! JOLLY! Sugoi! 10/10 5 Stars - Masterful Best in the biz
There was a period of time when the Bombcast was the highlight of my week in terms of podcasts. It's been many years since that was the case, though. I think the main things that made it decline were losing on-air talent and increasing the number of other broadcasts that Giant Bomb does. When you're on air 20 hours every week, it's hard to save the best stuff for 3 hours of podcast.
I've never actually listened to it so I wouldn't know. However, I think I know what you mean by increasing other broadcast. If I'm not mistaken, they have a podcast for their East Coast team, a wrestling podcast and an F1 podcast (along w/ Quick Looks and other things they may do that I'm not aware of). If all those are also very long that's definitely too much to keep the best for one show. It's unfortunate it it's not the same for you anymore.
These 3+ hours of frame trap are the greatest thing ever. They really help when I'm grinding in ESO or gathering materials in Dragon Quest Builders. Keep up the awesome work guys!
I found myself spending a lot of time in Gravity Rush 2 just flying through the air and moving the camera around in such weird angles is that feel Huber has when he mentions dopamine? Cause i like the sensation.
Mr.Bossman when you started to give you opinion on most books it felt like someone was running down a battlefield with only a flag representing everything you said, and it filled with such joy, as I've never heard anyone point out what I've been feelin since the 4th grade and now I'm 25 and feel the same way. No one wants to talk down about books because no one wants to feel stupid but there you were running down with that flag, thanks you for calling out the bs in books no else wants to. P.s. If you want an author who does not use bs, I recommend Mr.Drew Karpyshyn, he's written my favorite book Star Wars Revan. Love & Respect
Ryan mentioning Grandia makes me so happy. Criminally underrated series. It was the best JRPG series of its time and no other turn-based system has surpassed it yet. I hope you guys will have Ryan on more stuff. He was always one of my favorites at GT.
Same here too ngl yt is mad raw doggie us rn I mean I watch yt to watch videos that I like not to watch a long ass podcast that I’ll probably never finish
A pleasure to see Ryan again. Just another point of personality, that was nice to hear from again, in relation to the EZ Allies. Would love to see other guests in the future, time permitting of course. And I hope to see Ryan again some day. :)
Bosman, I just wanted to say I respect your opinion on books! I love reading but gotta say you bring up a great point and absolutely respect that. Keep up the great work, guys and please give us another 4 plus hour frame trap next time!!!
fyi (if you see this)- thanks for reading my email I sent in about taking some time off from buying new games to work on my backlog. I've already beaten the following this year: SW Rebellion on my PC for a campaign, Ratchet and Clank, Steamworld Dig, Steamworld Heist, FFXV, Firewatch, Red Dead Redemption (a lot of these I had started in December like FFXV but I'm gonna count them). pretty good year so far! keep up the good work
Usually my Tuesdays are sad days, since there is not new podcast or tabletops to hear while Im in work, however the 4 hours frame trap changed that, I heard 2 hours Yesterday and end it today... Tomorrow there will be a new episode of tabletops and then podcast on friday, good lord. I love you guys.
Don't worry Kyle, I don't like reading either. Growing up I has to read a lot for school and do what they called "reading sheets" (or something like that, it was in french) which was a really dumb way to makes us read, so it always felt like a chore to me and took away the joy of reading for me. I also get very sleepy when reading so I'm a very slow reader, and that doesn't help at all. I would say, there is a very cool thing about books, that has a little bit to do with those descriptions you don't like. Books force you to use your imagination, the forest I imagine based on the description is very different from the one you could imagine for example.
I LOVE Frame Trap!!! Best in the biz. This and EZA Podcast are my faves. I really dig the length of these podcasts too because of my commutes to work. Thank you and keep it up Ben.
One thing I wanna add about Shantae- everything about her series, from the outfits to the characters to even the location, are all based on Turkish ideas and folklore. The wife of the creator is Turkish herself, and helped her husband design a ton of stuff within the world because of her culture growing up. Now, are there times where it can be creepy? Of course! There's a whole section in Pirate's Curse where the four main lead female characters are forced into sexy metal bikinis for the pleasure of the local king, because reasons. Still, the majority of the series is meant to be all about Turkish traditions, and it's hard to see that through our american eyes.
Great episode (as usual)! I particularly enjoyed your discussion on the "age of cynicism" with games these days. That's a big part of why I like this group so much, I want to be excited and happy about all the great games we get these days rather than focusing on the negatives or expecting the worst.
Thanks, this was a fun episode, I really enjoy the length of these. EZA makes the only podcasts I listen to/watch. So three hours of Moore content is right up my alley. Thanks again! It was a nice change of pace for the conversation to have Ryan on, but I also enjoy having an all Ally podcast too :) GT feels with Ryan ;(
Okay, so I know that the allies have lives outside of filming for UA-cam, but I'd *really* love to see more podcasts from you all that are around this length. As a person who regularly comes home and does 6+ hours of homework, being able to settle into a podcast and just enjoy the ride is something that makes me almost look forward to that time.
1. Yay a guest on an EZA/Frame Trap podcast!!! 2. Golly gee Ben, you have set a precedent where a podcast can be almost 4 hours, knock it off!!! You know we can't get enough. 3. I believe in the Switch and Nintendo because I game on multiple platforms and the reason for that is I love games. I go wherever the best ones are, and there isn't a single platform that has that. Every platform has a strength that I admire and appreciate. Switch has a strength that I LOVE. Console games on the go.
I really appreciate this episode for having a guest speaker and for being 4 hours long. That must of have been tough for you guys to give up a Saturday but I think the topics and segments were great. Please have more like these. Kyle I can relate to your non reading in the sense that this age is damaging the attention span of most people. Though if I could have time apart from technology I would most definitely want to spend it reading something worthwhile.
I love that Kyle's parents are playing video games. I'm like Ben, so jealous that Kyle can have those conversations with his parents. I Hope you keep us updated Kyle.
For me Kyle was responsible for the cutest things said in this podcast, his parents playing videogames, and the most frustrating thing I've heard from an eza podcast, the whole stuff about description in books. Hope you keep being our angel and our demon, Kyle.
Kyle, I'm totally with you on why I don't read. I appreciate books, I think there are some amazing stories in novel form, but I just don't enjoy reading books. I can read long articles and stories online, but books just kinda meander around and it frustrates me a lot.
Agree with Kyle on the over-describing point, although I still enjoy reading. Funnily enough I think Stephen King is especially egregious in it, and kind of takes away the imagination aspect in books that was taught to me in school to be a core tenet of reading. I understand something like an author wanting you to know important elements of their world to be known like a giant crystal being a certain color or a car being a certain model. But if you spend too much time away from the events of the story and more of it on smaller things like the amount of buttons in a shirt or how many trees are in someones yard it leaves little room to transport you into the world and makes it more like you're watching a scene play out in a certain way. This goes against what Ben said about books being the best medium to involve you in the world but it doesn't let you really feel inside it if you don't have any room to even picture a scene from a certain angle in some cases. I appreciate when an author can make you believe in a world without having to try so hard to convince you a scene is realistic in it's sense of surroundings.
Star tropics is probably the first video game I ever played. Dumping the letter in water with my mom to progress the game was without a doubt the first time games blev my mind. Such a underappreciated game
Bob Slartibarti Yeah, Nintendo Power totally made me buy into that game.... and it was worth it! I little rough on the replay on the VC, but that pig butthole in the beginning, the cross dressing, the parrot, the submarine....also chapter 4 is a walking simulator!
Seriously, I can listen you talk all day. Also, loving the fact that maybe there will be more quests in future podcasts... But regardless, do as long episodes as you seem fit.
I'm bothered by the panel already rejecting any 7/10 score for RDR2. Ryan likes the second half of Broken Age but understands critical points brought against it. Easy Allies names Last Guardian GOTY and accepts two of its own members hating the game. But the theoretical score of 7/10 for a game you haven't even played gives you pause? Eesh.
Ben Moore Hey there Ben, thanks for responding :) I love your work and presence on Easy Allies. Benzilla was a great character on the betting special. And I didn't mean you as in yourself, I did mean the panel and the palpable pause everyone had at the concept. Sorry for being a little too acerbic.
Is almost over 4 hours!!!! Ben please keep playing the Trails series, even if you don't stream it. It deserves to be played and appreciated by more people.
Ben made me want to check out Super Mario Maker again. I haven't played it in awhile, I didn't even know there were checkpoints now. Also glad to hear that a lot of the "don't move" type levels aren't as popular a pick as they were when I played it last. That was one of my biggest pet peeves about the game
Kyle, I've been feeling this way about books lately. The thing that got me back into reading things not on my computer screen has been reading plays. The Flick was one I really enjoyed that doesn't have too much discription.
Holy shit, I still haven't finished the four hour frame trap from last time or the other EZA podcast from last week. Always good to have more though haha.
YEESSSSS, A Life Well Wasted. I really miss the EGM glory days, GFW radio in particular, which is where Robert Ashley (the creator of A Life Well Wasted) came from. The dynamic of that podcast was just so good. I think it is still the greatest gaming podcast ever (no offense to Easy Allies of course, part of the reason I love Easy Allies is how much it reminds me of those golden era EGM/1UP podcasts). I regularly relisten to the GFW Radio backlog every few years. The humor and insightfulness of those guys still feels relevant today, 10 years later. Shawn Elliott, Jeff Green, Robert Ashley, Anthony Gallegos, Ryan Scott... So good.
Ryan Stevens, the one time mentor for most of the trainee's of GT, on Frame Trap??? Awesome!!!! SICK!!! 4 Hour!!! WOWZA!!! Too bad for me its 4am and I had to got to bed right now!!!!! PILATES!
It was really nice to have Ryan on the show! Bring him back sometime. :D Also, I really enjoy listening to these while doing sprite work. So relaxing and it makes the work so much more enjoyable. :)
Same, listen when drawing or doing graphic design work. Music is nice but hearing about Kyle's mom suddenly gaming hard is nicer. Which is something I never thought I'd say.
I came to here to say that too or maybe I just understand that. I read books though but only in phases(when I have longer time out of work etc.) so not all the time. It's just so hard to find a book I really want to read. When I choose a book to read it is 99% time good and sometimes I wonder why I don't read more books. Kyle told why. Thanks Kyle!
Ryan Stevens is back!!!!!! So happy to see him on Frame Trap, was one of my favourite guests on Invisible Walls back when Shane Satterfield and Marcus Beer(?) was running it. The nostalgia vibes are REAL.
I am the opposite to Kyle with books. I can think back to places in a story that were described well enough that I can actually see them, yet I have never seen them before. Yet I still have fond memories of them just from the words of a book.
I agree with you, Kyle. I still like books but most of the time the long descriptions are such a slog, they are the reason I read very slowly and rarely.
OMG I'm getting Invisible Walls flashbacks. Good to see you again Ryan! :)
Me too. Flashbacks of crunch time as Graphic artist on my dev team. Listening to IW to pass the time.
"I'm bored.. what could I do" *4h Frame Trap now online* Oh boy!
Hearing Bosmans story about his parents made me so happy. What a cool thing to share with your parents.
I remember when a few years back I was getting into video game podcasts and a lot of people recommended the Bombcast but I didn't bother because it was too long.
Now I see a 4h Frame Trap and I'm like:
Sign me up!

The fact that Kyle's mother enjoyed The Witness made me happy.
At this level of exponential growth, Episode 27 of Frame Trap will be 6 days long.
Frame Trap 27: The Daily Lives of EZA.
I like it
quagthias Honestly I'd take the week off for that
Give it to me.
my body is ready
21:22 One of my favorite Kyle moments: Where Ryan shows off his Famicon sountrack vinyl
We need more Ryan, please! He seriously knows what he is talking about, and talks really well. The wording, the knowledges, oh boy.
Atomized reallllllly? the objective one? maybe it's called onslaught?
These 3+ hours of frame trap are the greatest thing ever. They really help when I'm grinding in ESO or gathering materials in Dragon Quest Builders. Keep up the awesome work guys!

same. also taking lots and lots of pictures.
astoriasky yes taking alot and finding other pictures. the game is just alive lol
thank you kyle !!! thats exactly how i feel about books !! I literally stood up and applauded you
4 hour Frame Trap!! My life is complete! Thank you Ben!!
4 HOUR FRAMETRAP HYPE! :D
Mr.Bossman when you started to give you opinion on most books it felt like someone was running down a battlefield with only a flag representing everything you said, and it filled with such joy, as I've never heard anyone point out what I've been feelin since the 4th grade and now I'm 25 and feel the same way. So great to see Ryan again with you guys. Hopefully you guys can get him to show up a few more times. Love the dynamic you have with him.
Took me two days but I finally watched it all! Thank you so much Panel for this Frametrap!! 4 hours flew by quickly!
"Divisive games are the best games" - Ryan Stevens 2017
Words to live by.
zodiac909 put it on my grave.
We're inching ever closer to the fabled Five Hour Frame Trap.
Ryan mentioning Grandia makes me so happy. Criminally underrated series. It was the best JRPG series of its time and no other turn-based system has surpassed it yet.
I hope you guys will have Ryan on more stuff. He was always one of my favorites at GT.
Kasper F. Nielsen the combat in Grandia 2 was so fun. couldn't get into Grandia 1 and 3 is like whaaaa
My dream is that one day we'll have the 5 hour Frame Trap. We're getting closer and closer!
Day 236... still watching Frame Trap... supplies running low, may have to venture outside...
Back with Invisible Walls, Ryan was my favorite member!
I'm so happy he is back!
Also, Fuck Shane.
You know what you did....
What did he do?
We should have Stevens as "Part-Time Ally," much wisdom and insight from that man.
I see Ryan and my nostalgia rages on With BIG SMILES!!! :D :D :D
saaaame!
Feelin the stevens love. He is so great at expressing his peculiar taste ;)
me too I smiled when I see his name and I can't believe it!
i've said "books are tom hanks" my whole life, good to finally have confirmation on that. thank you kyle!
Always loved Ryan and his opinions. Can't wait to settle into this episode.

A pleasure to see Ryan again. Just another point of personality, that was nice to hear from again, in relation to the EZ Allies. Would love to see other guests in the future, time permitting of course. And I hope to see Ryan again some day. :)
drd7of14 Thank you for seeing me
I feel exactly the same as Bosman about books, so you're not alone. :)
the longer the better brother. I loved this. I got to watch frame trap all day while doing chores and cooking. Thanks, your a saviour
Bosman, I just wanted to say I respect your opinion on books! I love reading but gotta say you bring up a great point and absolutely respect that. Keep up the great work, guys and please give us another 4 plus hour frame trap next time!!!
Getting closer to that 5 hour Frame Trap!
Ben, hot damn, lol. 4hr frame trap and it isn't even Christmas!
fyi (if you see this)- thanks for reading my email I sent in about taking some time off from buying new games to work on my backlog. I've already beaten the following this year: SW Rebellion on my PC for a campaign, Ratchet and Clank, Steamworld Dig, Steamworld Heist, FFXV, Firewatch, Red Dead Redemption (a lot of these I had started in December like FFXV but I'm gonna count them). pretty good year so far! keep up the good work
It's totally none of my business but for what it's worth, I'd love it if Ryan became a core member of EZA like Damiani did. Just love it.
Kyle perfectly explained why I don't like books. He's the best.
Literally, all I need in life is Frame Trap
I love to see more guest appearances on Frame Trap love the vibe to add more views and ideas to the allies circle
Oh my god nearly 4 hours of Frame Trap HELP I'M CAUGHT IN THE FRAME TRAP
This was an amazing Frame Trap!^^ very enjoyable, cool to see Ryan again! :D
Totally with @KyleBosman on books! He was able to pinpoint why it's not my favorite medium. Just had to show support!
I can read long articles and stories online, but books just kinda meander around and it frustrates me a lot.
i agree with Kyle, reading sucks
LOVE THIS! PLEASE HAVE MORE GUEST APPEARANCES ON YOUR PODCASTS!
Kyle I would absolutely recommend playing the GBC Shantae. Its really cool to see how that story developed over the years
This Frame Trap was super good.
The Frame Trap was also good
Probably my favourite Frame Trap yet. As a GT viewer, Ryan was the guy I missed the most after the move to Defy, so it's great hearing from him again.
OMG more Bosman family stories please! Insane, jolly, overload :)

I appreciate when an author can make you believe in a world without having to try so hard to convince you a scene is realistic in it's sense of surroundings.
We love you Kyle.
4 HOUR PODCAST!!! One word: Juicy.
Couldn't stop laughing at how dedicated you guys were at talking about Shantae's appeal (artistic intent).
I agree with Kyle's reading sentiment
Star tropics is probably the first video game I ever played. Dumping the letter in water with my mom to progress the game was without a doubt the first time games blev my mind. Such a underappreciated game
Bob Slartibarti Yeah, Nintendo Power totally made me buy into that game.... and it was worth it! I little rough on the replay on the VC, but that pig butthole in the beginning, the cross dressing, the parrot, the submarine....also chapter 4 is a walking simulator!
Ben!! There must be a second word in there. I want a Double Frame Trap in an episode!!!
Eesh.
Charlie Wood It was a lighthearted comment. Different opinions are of course welcome. I would love to read a 7/10 Red Dead review.
Waiting for that 24 hour frame trap
Not a big fan of Ryan Stevens being on the show but I still watched and enjoyed it, just my two cents! Love and Respect lol
Brandon USCG That's fine, thanks for the R from the l+r. Divisive games are the best, but divisive podcasts not so much
For sure brother, I enjoyed most of the stuff you worked on when you were with GT, just different vibes now I guess. Much love man!
Man I missed Ryan, Invisible walls nostalgia. Great show guys!
Is almost over 4 hours!!!! Ben please keep playing the Trails series, even if you don't stream it. It deserves to be played and appreciated by more people.
Off the walls podcast! Great job keeping this up Ben. Its like waiting on my weekly anime dose.. just longer and better!
We are in a gaming renaissance! 2017 is looking ridiculous! :D
so cool to see (and hear) Ryan again!
D. Bouts thanks, lots of seeing words, but the hearing compliment means a lot.
I think I'm in love with kyle's family. Parents playing video games fills me with such joy :)
Invisible Walls flashbacks over here :P

Ryan Stevens, the one time mentor for most of the trainee's of GT, on Frame Trap??? Awesome!!!!
SICK!!!
4 Hour!!!
WOWZA!!!
Too bad for me its 4am and I had to got to bed right now!!!!!
PILATES!
Gravity Rush 2 is so good. Also glad to see Ryan again.
I was so bummed when Ryan left GT. I really like that guy. Out of all the old GT people he is the one i miss the most. So good to see him back.
Tiggerdyret that's very nice. thanks
It was really nice to have Ryan on the show! Bring him back sometime. :D Also, I really enjoy listening to these while doing sprite work. So relaxing and it makes the work so much more enjoyable. :)

Andrew .Tovar thanks!
looove that Frame Trap, keep up the series!! 👍
Ryan Stevens is back!!!!!! So happy to see him on Frame Trap, was one of my favourite guests on Invisible Walls back when Shane Satterfield and Marcus Beer(?) was running it. The nostalgia vibes are REAL.
MOAR GUESTS PLZ
Beyant Kular Agreed!
Loved the episode, never too long for me :)
20:30 that suffering of Kyle fighting to restrain himself :'D
I am the opposite to Kyle with books. I can think back to places in a story that were described well enough that I can actually see them, yet I have never seen them before. Yet I still have fond memories of them just from the words of a book.

That would be a great t-shirt.
I agree with you, Kyle. I still like books but most of the time the long descriptions are such a slog, they are the reason I read very slowly and rarely.
omg Ryan!!!!! the invisible walls memories, the feels!
