EDIT: Since Channel Awesome took out some music to avoid copyright (taking 13 seconds away from the video), I fixed the timestamps past Tiny Toons.
The NC forgot to mention silver surfer...
Good stuff
You're doing God's work.
Thanks amigo
A whole 15 seconds of Angela Anaconda. Shows how weird and nondescript it is, eh?

Theres tons of anime that do only one or two seasons to push interest in the manga. And sometimes a game. If it does really well, they might do more episodes.

Batman: The Animated Series can be credited for giving us Harley Quinn, and the fact that a cartoon managed to cause such an impact in the actual comic book lore is amazing
Batman when a cartoon created a character and put in lore that followed into the comics you know you did something right
Which makes me think: why aren't shows/movies based on comics coming up with more original characters?
@@matthewjones6786 Remember X-Men Evolution? The one where most of the X-Men were teenagers (except Prof. X, Storm, Beast, and Wolverine)? That show debuted X-23, Wolverine's female clone, well before her 1st comics appearance.
@@louisduarte8763 Oh neato! I don't know much about X-Men yet, but would like to get into it at some point.
Plus how they managed to revamp Dr. Freeze's story
FUN FACT:
Tiny Toons *DID* air on Nickelodeon once
Was coming here to say this. Not only was it on Nick, but Nick even broadcasted the VHS version of "How I Spent My Vacation" which had those specially animated segues between transitions. That blew my mind as a kid only because I always saw the TV version and didn't know it had those extra bits.
@@SetnaroX yeah but the Seinfeld episode happened before and still got it wrong how the show actually was
@@BlueBlazeKing Yeah, of course it still got it wrong. The whole "The Wheels on the Bus" gag should give it away. I mean, as I can remember, there was never any episode that played that song. And if it did, I'm pretty sure it wasn't the one Seinfeld used. Still though, Tiny Toons WAS on Nick and it's worth pointing out.
Yeah
That and also Looney Tunes. When Nickelodeon had diversity and it’d be cool to see Bugs Bunny share space with Spongebob and Jimmy Neutron before Rugrats came on, but then Viacom screwed everything up!
Wow... a whole hour long episode... AND IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!! I remember every single one of these shows from my childhood and it was a great trip down memory lane, thanks NG!

That- ... Pretty much sums it up perfectly.

Psychologically speaking, you may need friends.
Ciestess It's the internet..
Also thanks for pointing out his obviously rude comment was rude. I am sure he was unaware.
I'm surprised 3 years later that no one noticed Squidwards voice as Carmen Santiago's Narrator. Now that I think about it, this is the most enthused I've ever heard Squidward sound. It's no wonder no one recognized him.
This show and this era of CS PC games were my first exposure to Roger Bumpass, years before SpongeBob premiered and I recognized him there (including figuring out Tom Kenny was Sponge from hearing him as Heffer and Dog years prior)
NOW THIS IS PURE NOSTALGIA!!!! God I remember watching Spider-man, Casper, Life with Louie, Goosebumps, X-men, Eerie Indiana etc on Fox Kids then we got Fox Box with the badass 2003 TMNT, Sonic X, and Kirby etc and then 4kids TV It was fun seeing it evolve from lil kid to preteen while growing up but the OG Fox Kids was always my fav and I was always excited for it
I'm with you Jax. Out of all the Nostalgia Critic stuff he's covered THIS was my childhood.
JaxBlade don't also forget Spider Riders, MagiNation, Cubix and if I remember correctly Huntik was on Fox Kids or at least an iteration of it.
Knight Warrior that wa Kids WB lol
Its always a pleasure to see Jax in the comment section.

Tim curry is a national treasure every role he takes is memorable and funny and awesome
Well, I Think that Rita Moreno is also a National Treasure In Every Single Role She has Taken is also Memorable and in Movies too, Including the 2021 Movie West Side Story, and She's also a Living Legend Too, Just Like Ed Asner (God Rest and Bless His old Soul - 2021) and Louie Anderson (R.I.P 2022).
Bobby's World dealt with some heavy stuff sometimes too. The episode I remember above all others is the one with the school crossing guard that Bobby was good friends with. He told him that you can make music everywhere, was a really swell old guy. Well, one day he was replaced by this lady, and you found out that the crossing guard died. Bobby having to deal with that and just the concept of death just really shook me, but it was handled so well. Kudos to the showrunners.
I don't recall a kids show getting into something that heavy except for rugrats and sesame Street. And those shows straight up wrecked me. I didn't have an existential crisis watching this.
Life with Louie also had some pretty serious topics from time to time. The one when his Grandma dies is a great example of how grief and death are seen by people with different backgrounds.
@PandaMonium92827
Bobby's World isn't a Kid's show, dumbass.

“Do I have to worry about you?”
“You might.”
My life in a nutshell, or in Malcom’s words...
“Somebody finally gets it!”
I thought it was just showing how he portrays the Devil.
I like how this video is pretty much just a sequel to that Disney afternoon video Doug a few years back , but while i legitimately enjoyed this video they forgot to mention the fact that fox kids didn't really end but just changed their name into the fox box , and after that they changed it's to the controversial changing rice balls into sandwiches, 4kids .
and 4kids later ended up moving to the CW where it basically ran reruns of Yu-gi-oh, Sonic X and TMNT 2003 until Saturday Morning cartoons were put out of it's misery in 2014
iHeartRyanStiles surprised that they left that part out
Well there might be a time that he may do another sequel to this video. Kids WB.
M.D. Webster how would that even work considering most of the shows like Batman , Animaniacs , and tiny toons were also on it .
God, loved that one! This is what the _Nostalgia_ Critic was made for.
In Russia, Spider-Man Fox Kids had a cult status. And was even more popular than x-man
Константин Миронов 👍🏾👌🏾✌🏾
kinda of shocking that a american property is populer in a country with.................. you know.
what are you speaking about? After the fall of the Soviet Union, American culture poured into our country. We know America ten times better than you know Russia.
Константин Миронов facts 😂😂
Funny, but a typical Russian can easily distinguish Kansas from Maine, and roughly knows where they are. But the fact that an American can distinguish Novgorod from Ryazan.
"Spider-Man: The Animated Series" hasn't aged the best, but I still think it holds up and it was my first introduction to Spider-Man as a kid. While the animation wasn't the greatest, the writing and voice acting more than makes up for it. I'm kind of miffed that Doug chose one intentionally cheesy joke to exemplify how awful the show's humor supposedly was, but actually the show had quite sharp dialogue.
To me, I still see Christopher Daniel Barnes as Spider-Man.
same.
Doug is nitpicking at the smallest flaw trying to prove his opinion, to an annoying level. He did a similar thing with his old spider man trilogy vs the amazing movies. The animated series is great and from time to time when i see clips of it now, I still enjoy it as I did as a kid.
I also really like this spider-man show growing up, it's was also my introduction to the Spider-man universe and to many marvel characters who cameos in the show.
I actually liked the show more than X-Men at the time. I was astonished to learn years later that Spider-Man wasn't allowed to punch anyone throughout the entire show. But great nostalgia for these portrayals of the characters, the way they covered classic storylines, and that amazing orchestrated soundtrack.
I liked x-man a bit more, but it's still the best spider man I've seen.
Unlike Doug I disliked most of the comedy shows he claims are good though. I generally hate the cartoon logic of "Look how much pain this character is put through, isn't it funny?".
Well it’s 2020 and I can’t wait for Animaniacs to crack jokes about the modern world. Hey, if Rocko can do it, so can they.
Amd the Tiny Toons...
They failed........
It's an okay reboot
@@NightSide139 I disagree.
@@bluethunder250 Same I think it's great.
The reason Seinfeld said Tiny Toons was on Nickelodeon was because Nickelodeon aired reruns of the show in the mid-late 90s for a number of years. That's actually how I 1st discovered the show.
That was after the Seinfeld episode.

Look, I get you're only a child but you have to choose and think for yourself if you want to continue to support a boy who ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS has screwed over his own "friends" just for monetary gain. I get that animosity towards someone you like is difficult, but you need to look at it without the rose colored glasses and be objective about it. Just because you like him doesn't mean you shouldn't criticize him. Especially if it's in the past. Someone doesn't change until they acknowledge their mistakes.

With regards to the Batman: The Animated Series segment, Batman Beyond was pretty damned faithful to the aesthetic of its predecessor, just swapped out the Art Deco for more futuristic.

Now I’m wondering if one day Doug will cover some of the classic Cartoon Network shows (Dexter’s Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Kids Next Door, Cow & Chicken, I.M Weasel, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, etc.)
Felix De La Cruz You mean Cartoon Cartoon Fridays? I think I could do that, but in the near future.
Morgan Hoskins That’s what it was! I was blanking on the name so hard!
Megas XLR and Toonami
n I thought my Nostalgia Boner had reached it's peak with the Spiderman cartoon, but you had to go n mention Dexter's Lab. Seriously gotta feel sorry for this generation of kids, their cartoons just do not compare, even a little bit
Or Toonami
This Is One Of The Few Nostalgia Critic Videos Where He Doesn't Say The Phrase *Hello I'm The Nostalgia Critic And I Remember It So You Don't Have To*
Along With Digimon: The Movie, Batman VS Superman, Scooby Doo (2002), Scooby-Doo 2, Alvin And The Chipmunks, It (2017), The Mummy (2017), Alice Through The Looking Glass, The Emoji Movie And Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins
Something actually nostalgic? *shocked*
Makes me nostalgic about the original Nostalgia Critic episodes. Double nostalgia.
Yeah.... the lack of 80s and 90s shows and movies he used to review has made it difficult for me to get into his videos. This and the Beauty and the Beast review have been the only ones I have liked in a while. I like when he does the clipless DC films, but aside from them. He needs to look back at more older media.
Well aside from two reviews and even then there were over 5 years too late most of everything is based on everything from the 50s to 90s
He probably wasn't that nostalgic or did all he could remember. He had too hard a taste to get into the stupidity of many 90s shows
Tan Ghil *double shock*
The "mythtaken" joke is definitely a corny joke Spider-Man would make! You took it out of context, it isn't the show's humour, it's Spidey's. Furthermore, I think Spider-Man is actually very funny in the show, making a lot of sharp jokes.
Btw, NC confused Roscoe Lee Browne (Kingpin) with Tony Jay.
Thanks. I actually did read a few comments correcting him earlier.
I forgot Tony Jay was Kingpin. Still THE definitive Kingpin for me thus far...
Wait, just checked: It was Roscoe - true.
Tornado Chaser I agree, I thought Spidey's quips were quite cleverly written (most of the time). For example:
KINGPIN(having captured Spider-Man): I must say, this is an unexpected treat.
SPIDER-MAN: If I were you, Kingpin, I'd cut down on the treats.
PUNISHER: Your days of tormenting the innocent are over!
SPIDER-MAN: Don't tell me. The skull on your shirt, the corny line; your name must be bonehead, right?
Granted, they're funnier heard on the show, than read in a youtube comment, but my point still stands.
Ok, he reviewed Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Fox Kids. You know what's coming next...
¡CARTOON NETWORK!
Maybe a Cartoon Network-Cember
I want that Toonami look at
More Specificly... *TOONAMI CONFIRMED!!!*
don't forget kids wb
No. I’m betting that he does 4Kids.
*SONIC X NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED*
As a guy born in 94, I vaguely remember Fox Kids on weekday afternoons.
Fox Kids may have disappeared but it was turned into FoxBox and then 4Kids TV, which I remembered on Saturday mornings.
Thats a shame because that's when fox's children programming was at its peak
"If you're a dog detective person."
I'm a mouse detective person myself.
oh yeah the great mouse detective I love that movie
I’m a bat detective person myself
@@aacproductions996 oh like sherlock
The great mouse detective, danger mouse, Geronimo stilton
I prefer when the Mice are from Mars and ride motercycles
HEY! DON'T TOUCH SPIDER-MAN!
In Soviet Russia this animation is an object of cult!
MaxiM Reshitko In Soviet Russia animation plays you
Totally agree! First of all, some arcs in that series were much more complex and serious than X-men. Speaking of mutants, "neogenic nightmare" arc is one of the most kick ass on-screen adaptations of Spidey (yeah, suck that, puny homecoming/avengers stuff).
zahar kabatsky was that the one where Morbius and Blade showed up or was it the one where he turned into Man- Spider? Honestly there were so many good story archs from the show I have a hard time remembering which is which
And that is exactly the case!! All those events from a single arc!! : )
In Soviet Russia this animation is man-spider
3:52 Doug's father screams just like him. That's adorable.
I just remember Animaniacs being on the HUB years ago and I loved it. Hope that they will be back in 2020
Umm, excuse me?😳
I was just here for the Digimon. Was worried it wasn't going to come, but then it came twice.
Cameron Grow HEY! Phrasing!
So did I
Same. I thought it was only going to be the shows Doug watched, but I'm glad Heather and Walter covered the other shows.
Just like me
Moondust Manwise beat me to it
Hah phrasing
This made me realize how much I miss stay morning cartoons
We had so many stay overs and sleepovers. Now we just use WhatsApp to keep in contact wth
Jaden Quest CANT EVEN HANG OUT NOW
That's a pretty accurate representation of how someone snoring sounds when you're trying to sleep.
Sardior That Howie Scream
I have so many great memories of watching these shows every weekday afternoon and Saturday morning.
An accurate representation of a sleepover there at the very end.
CarolDirge Scarily accurate
Me and my spouse's bedtime conversations are basically this. I'm the luckiest person in the world ^_^
Am I the only one who clicked this not looking at the length only for my eyes to go wide a few minutes in?
Something tells me that Doug's dad tried to make Homer Simpson's Patented Space age moon waffles
6:00 Better get looking for the old broad
26:36 and it's currently being streamed on the Retro Rerun youtube channel
30:26 well he has cats now
Damn that liquid smoke.
54:27 So that's why there was a cape in "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse".
The carnage episode, the one where he first shows up here, was the episode of Spider-Man I remember extremely well. It scared the hell out of me. The way the guy talked and how the symbiont lost control and the serial killer did and how heavily implied that people did die when wasn’t on screen. Even going as far as mentioning his kill count and explains why J. Jonah hates Spider-Man and actually making me feel bad for calling him a jerk.
I have a few overriding memories of _Spider-Man,_ and sadly, Carnage isn't one of them. ;)
I remember: Peter Parker growing an extra pair of arms; Hobgoblin (in fact, I even wondered who Green Goblin was supposed to be when the first _Spider-Man_ movie came out!); Kraven and his "I know the Prussian moon, and I know the Prussian stars" quotation (I've been wondering where that came from ever since!); Morbius the Vampire and Blade's Inspector Javert-like pursuit of him; the thing with Madame Web; Stan Lee making a cameo...
Living in Brazil had it's advantages back then, Fox Kids would air animes without cutting a lot of stuff, faithful translations, and would often keep the original japanese soundtrack!
Sure the first season of Digimon got the "Digimon Digital Monsters" crap that aired in america, but EVERYTHING ELSE was unchanged! Fuck yeah, we got Brave Heart! And Digimon Tamers, aired with it's original japanese intro AND theme song, no translation or dub whatsoever!
Besides Digimon and Monster Rancher, they'd proudly boast that Fox Kids aired more anime in an afternoon, that you could watch in a whole day on actual japanese television. lol
They aired Patlabor, Shaman King, Beyblade, Medabots, Mon Colle Knights, Flint the Time Detective, Track City, Dinozaurs, Shin-chan, Shinzo, Kirby, Super Pig, Megaman NT Warrior, Ultimate Muscle, Transformers and Transformers Armada, Sonic X.... And all that was like, being aired at the same time! lol
For commercials they'd often play music videos of bands that used animation for them, like Gorillaz and Daft Punk.
It was truly heaven on Earth for a kid back then!
Cartoon Network had to fight hard to counter the immense success Fox Kids had here, with animes like Pokemon, Inu Yasha, Samurai X, and Dragonball Z.
Nickelodeon was behind them, and tried to follow suit with Yu-Gi-Oh, but that was pretty much it.
It slowly begun to die when Disney bought Fox Kids and transformed it in Jetix, and by the time Disney XD came, it was completely gone. Just teenager live action bullshit.
I'd kill to have Fox Kids back!
Sugurain lucky Bastard
South America had some cartoon advantages lol
Meanwhile, I’m not jealous with the fact that you got the original dub of Digimon. I prefer the English dub along with the English op since it hyped me up for the show, but that’s how I am
All those fox anime you listed, I'm still flummoxed how JesuOtaku never did any of them.
Yeah I didn't mind the English dub for Digimon and I liked the soundtrack they used for the show.
So in Bobby's World, the older brother represents the 90s trying to kill the 80s and the older sister represents the 80s refusing to die? Sounds pretty current to me. XD
“it’s not your fault” times like 7….Good Will Hunting….you’re writing is sooo clever
90s Spider-Man and power rangers are a national treasure !
OMG Spider-Man and Beast Wars was the best shows on Fox Kids!!! 🦊
"Believe... or see?"
Don't know why that made me laugh pretty hard.
19:23 well Nickelodeon DID air Tiny Toons for a very short time in 2003
Ah, Digimon. I remember the exact moment when I stopped watching Pokémon and became a complete Digimon fan, and that can be summed up in two words, Wizardmon's death. Also, where's even the slightest mention of Beetleborgs or Mystic Knights?
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog was amazing when I was a kid! Glad someone else remembers :)
They also forgot about Medabots, which I thought was at least mildly popular.
and bayblades was a fan of both pokemon and digimon but stop seeing pokemon for digimon to
BIIIIG, BAAD, BEETLEBORGS!!!
And vr troopers
FOX KIDS, ROCKS KIDS !!!!
Also holy cow , an 1 hour long nostalgia critic video , that's even bigger than the Disney afternoon retrospective .
"Sadly, this is when Fox Kids began their downward spiral."
*Emperor Lemon fan inside me awakens*
ramblecampbell That’s all I can think of when I hear the words “downward spiral”.
*green simpsons*
**MAKE FRYING DORY**
This is the first Nostalgia Critic video I ever saw and I would argue it is still the best ever. I keep coming back to it.
This was the longest video The Critic has ever done.
Bob L-B you probably didnt see his review of las misrarabe
What's that?
Jack Mensah-Bonsu no this was longer.
I mean this is the longest nostalgia critic but there have been longer videos Doug has done
Has the anual comemorative flicks, but they suck.
Damn I think we found out a lot about Malcolm and Tamra today... some of it maybe should have stayed buried.
The Godzilla animated series was far better than the Roland Emmerich film. Also, is it just me or does the aliens in the Godzilla animated series look like the space jockey from alien.
BlueBadgerGamer that series was actually worthy to have association with the Godzilla franchise.
Go watch the original show it was based off of from the 1970s...the one with Godzilla's kid brother.
When the NC went "Get to the more hardcore stuff!" after Beast Wars/Machines I was just like had a PTSD flashback to all the characters who got murdered on those shows.
I actually liked Digimon more than Pokemon because the stories and characters were more interesting and creative. Also, Power Rangers was my favorite show as a kid. GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!
Not to mention _Digimon_ never rebooted literally their entire Universe after every Arc.
Pokemon didn't need to be interesting or creative, it had games to sell to 9 year olds and after 20 seasons its still working somehow.
The Dynast Queen The Pokemon Adventures manga seems to also be selling well
As a kid i was in love with Mystic Force and SPD
Ahsim Nreiziev technically they did reboot the digimon franchise with season 3. And the new Digimon Tri actually picks up a few years after season 2 ended with 5 of the 8 children in high school, and the other 2 in middle school.
Digimon was only given seven episodes to be a success. Its now in its like 8th season. Give it credit! Also Digimon had more complexity to its characters, and each episode had a purpose. You play Pokemon for the videogames and you watch Digimon for the anime (although Digimon Rumble Arena, Card Battle, and World were all great games).
Joseph
Recent Digimon games>>>>>>Pokemon games
kadeer karim
Which ones have you played?
Maybe not, odblog, but it's still a decently sized nostalgia following.
Joseph I know that the every word starting with digi makes the show seem repetitive, but no way more than Pokemon. It wasn't afraid to mix up the formula here and there, and could get truly deep. The episode Tai got home, Ken's arc, the entirety of Tamers... I like Pokemon, but Digimon, despite its shortcomings, involved me so much more.
I honestly stopped watching Digimon really after season 5: Digimon Data Squad (Digimon Savers in Japan which is the version I watched).
I watched some of Xros Wars (Fusion) but I got a bit taken out by the whole Digixros system as opposed to the traditional digivolution system and I have only heard hints about Appmon.
Not that I watched Pokemon too much after Johto Journeys but watched bits and pieces of the other seasons with XYZ being the season I sort of got into it again until they fucked it up right at the end again. The sudden art style change of Sun and Moon didn't inspire much want to watch it either but probably will at some point since at the end of the season they do pay some homage to previous seasons.
Edit: Yes I am one of the people who got pissed at Ash losing a League AGAIN in XYZ since you'd think they would have let him have a victory by now.
19:55 Tiny Toons reran on Nickelodeon, and the Wheels on the Bus song is from the My Summer Vacation special, so yes Seinfield got it right.
Oooof. This is gonna sting when the critic finds out.

Me: Squidward is that you? What are you doing here? Spongebob hasn’t been created yet, and definitely not aired on Fox Kids!
I think Rodger bumpass did the voice
@@randomperson4280 Oh he was voiced by the same actor, ok.
Mr Acme was my first exposure to Roger Bumpass, so when I first saw SpongeBob and heard Squidward, I immediately made the connection
