Volvo 1.6 D2, Ford 1.6 Diesel, Peugeot 1.6 Diesel injector removal and fitting.

- Another one of my quick videos I rattled out while at work, this one is for removing the injectors from a 1.6 Ford Peugeot diesel engine found in alot of modern Fords, Volvos and Peugeots. These engines are common for injector problems which can cause bad starting, bad running, rough idle, even misfires.
Any questions just leave a comment if the video helps please leave a thumbs up. - Авто та транспорт
Thanks for sharing this it was a great help. I’ve just fitted a complete set on my wife’s 2012 Ford Focus. Completely different car now.
Pleased it helped!
i will have a go this weekend thanks for vid mate
No bother hope it helped!
Thanks for a great video Phil! Really helped. I have a ford manual for a 2012 C-max (same engine) and it specifies torque as 7Nm + 80/85 degrees (depending on clamp version - although not sure 5 degrees makes any difference)
Yeah I can't see 5 degrees making all that difference! 😂 Pleased it helped you out though!
What is the torque?
Hi, thanks for this nice instructive video. At the moment you are telling which torque to use to tighten the injector clamps the sound is not really clear - it seems this should be 4Nm with an additional 45 degrees - is that correct ?
Yeah that's the one. I just of caught my mic when I was taking there. Hope it helped.
Great video. I have a question? I'm sending my injectors off for cleaning. After I get them back and return them in the same sequence will I have to get them coded in or can I just do the normal learn procedure on the engine?
If they are going in where they came out it should just need to relearn.
@@ThePhilBilly Thank you!
@ThePhilBilly, may I know if should I replace all of the injectors or just the one that is affected? And how much is one injector for ford focus 2013? Thanks for your response mate😊
If you can get away with just replacing one I think that would be fine as along as it gets coded in, I think off the top of my head the injectors are around £200 a injector. Could be wrong mind! Haha
The cylinder number one is the nearest the trimming belt? thanks!
Yeah number 1 is timing belt end.
I have a V70 D2 with a intermittent misfire. EML and DSTC flag up but when car is turned off and then restarted it runs fine out of limp mode etc. VIDA says cylinder 1 and 2 injectors are running too lean. I’m leaning towards a wiring issue as it’s intermittent and both occur together only. What’s your thoughts?
Could be the injectors them selves. Very common for them to fail. I'd get them tested if I was you.
@@ThePhilBilly Yeah the odd thing is if they have gone they both went at the exact same time. Cars been running no problem for 4 days now…
Hopefully it stays running fine and it was just being stupid haha
is there an aftermarket tool to get that can recode? will the engine not run until software codes them?
There is software but it's expensive. It's best to get a garage to do it, and it will run but it won't run very well.
could these be the cause of rough idel at startup and some smoke on start up?
Quite possibly yes
Got a problem with leak off pipe replaced the o rings now leaking out off all do you know where to get correct o rings to replace ?
They are a proper pain to find, I had similar problems with this a while ago, I ended up buying a full new set of leak off pipes and connectors off eBay. Weren't too expensive mind think about 15 quid.
@@ThePhilBilly thanks mate i went to injector place they give me ones to thin all four leaking everywhere. I went to wicks belive it or not there smallest o rings are oversized poped over perfect and snug. been a pain all week eventally done thank god ! Thanks for the replie though mate. Mine is a ford forcus 1.6 tdci there exactly the same so thought i would ask 👍
Hi there! Do i have to disconnect battery or anything before start removing injector?
I never have personally so I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure the ignition is turned off
@@ThePhilBilly Thank you!
Do the new injectors need to be coded in
Yeah they do aye
These are actually very reliable engines if well maintained right ?
Yeah I like them. The injectors do let them down but apart from that they are pretty good little engines.
Do these have to be coded in?
If fitting new injectors or second hand injectors yes, it will run just baddly. It's best to take it to a garage who can code then in and do the learn in process too it makes the car alot smoother and better on fuel
@@ThePhilBilly we got a v50 d2 in at the moment needing 4 and our snap on diagnostic and xtool both won’t code them
@@rubenstacey806 we have snap on and it wouldn't touch them either. I felt like throwing it in the bin if I'm honest. We got a local spark to come in and he coded them and did the learn in process for us. If your lucky you can sometimes code then in on snap on kit by going in as a ford focus of the same year but it's hit and miss.
@@ThePhilBilly I assume the Chinese version of Volvo Vida can programme the new injectors?
@@thejoyoffix4720 I'd imagine so
4nm ? Did u said ?
Yeah, 4nm and 45 degrees. Had a mic problem when I was talking.
@@ThePhilBilly is the timing belt one is injector one ?
@@17shakil yeah, belt side it's number 1
@@ThePhilBilly I know only that by Peugeot, same engine number 1 Injector is on the site from gearbox!
@ cylinder number one is never done from the flywheel side,. It's always taking from the timing side, well as far as Ive ever known anyway.
