    Incase you didn't know your lemon extract has another use too, clean like goo gone when you have something sticky to remove. Just put it on and let it sit a minute before you use a rag, towel or scraper. Worked in a grocery store cleaned my registers with it. Thank you

      That is funny! I think a lot of people do go there more often, it is just a bit out of the way for me so I tend to go to Fred Myer instead. Then when I do go to Walmart, I buy all sorts of random things. Thank you so much for watching Gabrielle!

      @@rocketmom60 We're on city water where we live (small town in central IL), but we still have to use Root Killer on our sewer drain about 2-3 times/year (lots of mature trees in our neighborhood). We use Scott TP in the upstairs bathroom (where there's not as much water pressure to "move things along" on the first flush), but it's VERY thin, and I suspect we use more per "sit" just to do an adequate job.

    I bought a food chopper a few years ago and love it, makes food prep so easy. I forget that you also run a Airbnb. I often take off for a few days and dog friendly places makes the trip more economical( I don’t then need to factor in dog kennel fee’s) I have a mini poodle and most places will take on smaller dogs. My dermatologist told me to use Cetaphil products and I wouldn’t need anything else for my sensitive skin. I’ve done it for years and it works great. I think the flosser is weird. Don’t u need one for everybody in the family? I didn’t catch the price.
    Your weather seems nicer than some other Alaskans I watch. They’ve had 30’s and threats of snow already. You get 6 more weeks till winter .

    • @ThisAlaskaLife
      @ThisAlaskaLife  2 роки тому +1

      The flosser was just for me, but the kids decided they needed to try it out as well. I wanted to make sure it was worth the $11 before I bought them for the kids and I don't think I will. It slips out too much. Anyways, we are in the 30's and snow, I am just playing catch up here (this was filmed 4 weeks ago). We have done too many fun things this summer that I am trying to get through everything I have filmed. One day I hope to catch up and be more on real time but I am a one person film/edit crew around here and with everything else going on, I am just plugging through as fast as I can. We aren’t in the middle of nowhere and are also on septic lol. We do have city water. My husband used to install systems back in the early 90’s and let me tell you I am super concerned about what goes down the drain. We use Sam’s club 🧻 tp. One of the best. They say charmin is one of the worst ones. Especially ones with the lotion. He also said powdered laundry detergents are bad. As well as any oils or grease. Basically only tp, water and poo/pee should go down the drain. Hair is also a killer. I installed a hair catcher recently in our shower. I followed this rule and our system went 21 years without pumping ( which I don’t recommend) but our pump guy said wow you can tell you guys take care of your system. Going forward I will probably pump every 3-5 years. I bet the Walmart tp and members mark brand are made by the same place. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🧻🧻

    The corn's a little more expensive than it is here (in the middle of the Corn Belt), but it's good to see that Alaska Walmarts have the "bread for a buck." As to thin TP that will break down easily in a septic system, you might also try the Scott 1000 sheets/roll (or the Great Value version). It breaks down a little TOO easily, though, so if the Great Value Ultra Strong works for you, you might want to stick with that.
    My sons liked the acne cleansing wipes when they were teenagers -- very easy to use.
    How much was the onion chopper you picked up? I picked up an Oxo Veggie Chopper (very similar design) on sale last year from Kohl's and love it, but I've owned the Walmart version in the past. A big time-saver! (and also cuts down on having to pull out the food processor)

      Hi Kim! Never know what you’re going to get! So chickens...our chickens are laying hens, not meat birds. They have barely any meat on them if you were to kill them. Meat birds are full grown at 6 weeks and lay no eggs. We choose to just do laying hens and the only chicken we get is an occasional Costco chicken. For all the work of meat birds ( butchering then) , it’s not worth it for us.

    I wonder if your septic system in Alaska is different? I've never heard of toilet paper for septic systems before. We've been on a septic system for over 40 years and we have never had a problem with any type of toilet paper that we use. For the last 10 years or so we've been getting ours from Sam's Club. Where we live they pass the law about 6 years ago that you have to have your septic system pumped out every 3 years. I've checked with the person who pumps our septic system and he says he's had no problems. I heard of toilet paper for RVs but never for septics
