From what I seen with destroy all humans 2 remake it said it was compatible with the Xbox one on the page to preorder it but when it came out it wasn't compatible with the Xbox one
What I don’t like about the Destroy All Humans remakes is how they changed how some games mechanics and weapons work, making them more modern and tactical instead of dumb fun
I think the Harvest Moon IP and lore was created by the localisers in the west, kind of like how Power Rangers is a western program based on (I can't remember the Japanese show name). So then the team who localised the original game got other studios to make knockoffs while the original devs found another name to use to sell their game
It hurts hearing these dudes talk about different games . Sometimes it sounds like they have no idea what they are saying but just reading a script , like “this game is bad too , right guys?”
another studio like you said with story of the season wpild be bugbear with flatout 1+2 then it became wreckfest! its quite sad to see how and what flatout had becmoe with 3+4...
I know Quake IV didn't kill the franchise, but Quake IV isn't available for download on any online game services that I know of; the only reason I have the game is that it's a physical copy. There has been no real Quake sequels since then, just a sequel to Quake III: Arena called Quake V: Arena. I don't understand why Quake IV isn't sold at discount on Steam; it isn't great like Quake and Quake II, but it's definitely playable
The wild thing about the XCOM reboot is that it was actually a spin-off of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, which was supposed to be the big, AAA, Bioshock-inspired 1st person shooter reboot for the series. It bombed, XCOM: Enemy Unknown came out with little hype, and then blew up because it was basically just the franchise done right for the first time in a decade plus.
The Buerau was bioshock inspired? Felt more like mass effect to me with the squad combat and skills. That said, I really liked the game and wish we could get another kind of ME like game where you're a detective guy fighting something. It could just be fighting crime too and it'd be fun.
@@luckyducky7819 I think it started out as Bioshock inspired but ended up being more Mass Effect inspired by the time it came out. Though I wouldn't mind a Spiritual Successor to The Bureau, even if the original game was very... Xbox 360 era.
I feel like your entire Metroid: Other M section just misses the mark. Like, painfully so. Metroid: Other M was meant as a sort of interquel, not a reboot...the story was set between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, sort of meant to clear up some of the unexplained story beats and contextualize Fusion. Matroid Prime is its own sort of side-branch, chronologically set between the original Metroid and Metroid II. Metroid's always been a bit of a weird franchise, since it feels that the main guy is really the main driver. The game that was Dread was kiboshed after several failed attempts, though MercurySteam's success with the Metroid II remake gave the series head confidence that they could potentially deliver on the game he wanted to with Dread.
I absolutely adore Mass Effect Andromeda. It was the first Mass Effect game I ever played and because of that I had no expectations going in and ended up loving it. I will say that I played it years after launch so I never saw how buggy and chaotic the game was but as it stands now it’s a solid game. And I’m even more grateful to it cause it got me so excited for Mass Effect Legendary Edition that I bought and played the original trilogy. I can definitely see why people were put off and unhappy with Andromeda after coming from ME 3 though.
Metal Gear Survive was not the game that killed the series. It was the game that couldn't recover the series. MGSV was the game that killed the series. The Phantom Pain and the drama with Kojima made everyone hate the series and no one wanted to support the company anymore. It wouldn't have mattered how good the next game was, no one was going to support it. The fact that MGSV was "unfinished" and the series director was no longer with the company left everyone with a bad taste in their mouth.
17:00 it took me watching this video to realize I finished Dead Island 2 without even being on a single Island 😂😂😂😂😂 (Dead Island 2 is MID and that is being nice/ they did really good with the gore and playing with friends)
I wouldn't consider remakes and remasters to technically continue on a franchise, unless you pull a Final Fantasy VII and your remake isn't a remake at all. So I would argue Metal Gear is very much dead and it wasn't Survive that did it, but V. Every entry in the franchise from MGS onward was supposed to be the last game in the franchise, but fan demand, Konami/the rest of the MGS team being literally unable to put anything together without him, plus his own love of the franchise combined with that good old fashioned Japanese salaryman go to the grave for the corporate masters cultural mentality kept pulling him back in for nearly twenty years. Once Kojima left Konami leaving 5 literally unfinished, MGS was done, add in that he took and I quote "a significant number of Konami devs" with him and caused yet more devs to leave in solidarity when he left during that whole mess, and MGS was never coming back.
The metroid segment seemed like a strech. Metroid never went away for longer then a few years every generation some form metroid, it's just a six year recalibration less a colossal failure
Microsoft would make bank if they just let other companies produce Halo games. They could still keep Halo studios around if they really wanted like a “home” company that produced mainline. But sharing the IP to produce spinoffs…why are they sleeping on that? Guess they just don’t like money.
Keeping it a buck. The THPS remake not getting further development is a massive L on Activision's part. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, memes that they will shut people down just to send developers into the Call of Duty mines. And it feels like they've internalized that criticism rather than changing their ways. So if Activision is listening, let me ask them this. If you want to maximize profits and get as wide a playerbase of paying customers possible, how do you plan on reaching the players who DON'T play shooters? Yes, you have Candy Crush. Yes, you have Blizzard. But you're homogenized. Is there not value in a diversified portfolio?
A diverse portfolio attracks inverstors but when it comes to actually funding new stuff investors would rather question your life choices and commit who knows how many crimes or frauds rather than actually funding stuff because what else are they going to buy their 10th yatch. And how dare the developers to make something new when they could be doing 10 slot machine apps disguised as "games" they would get even offended even with that suggestion. That's the AAA mentality for you.
Feel like the 007 one was abit unfair i mean tbh the series as a whole was losing steam and mind share before the games started fallin off iirc. Tho lol man you really where a xbox only kid huh 😂
Surprised you guys didn't include Alan Wake. There was a very long period of time where fans didn't think we'd get a sequel. And now not only is there a sequel but an entire universe being built with Control 2 on the way.
Duke Nukem Forevor was fantastic, but it performed poorly from word of mouth. It really is one of those "you should play it instead of watching youtube videos" sorts of games. I mean, most of the time we can just look and see something's terrible. Veilguard and conchord are two recent examples. However, if someone's reading this and hasn't played dnf, give it a burl. It's fun.

another studio like you said with story of the season wpild be bugbear with flatout 1+2 then it became wreckfest!
its quite sad to see how and what flatout had becmoe with 3+4...
Quake IV's soundtrack is also "meh" compared to the 1st Quake, which had Nine Inch Nails' frontman Trent Reznor compose the game's soundtrack
Xenosaga episode 2 almost killed xeno series.
bro was munching on that spaghetti
Calling Spec Ops: The Line “decent” hurts to hear. That is one of the best games ever made imo!
mass effect andromeda is perfectly fine now
I feel like your entire Metroid: Other M section just misses the mark.
Im the ad you called Bolognese a spaghetti Bologna
There was not a Overlord moba ?
17:00 it took me watching this video to realize I finished Dead Island 2 without even being on a single Island 😂😂😂😂😂 (Dead Island 2 is MID and that is being nice/ they did really good with the gore and playing with friends)
I’m more upset over the fact you bolognese as bologna
Choi is read more like Cho-ae than Cho-yee, blame the Koreans (yeah that includes me) for messing it up when writing it in English.
The metroid segment seemed like a strech. Metroid never went away for longer then a few years every generation some form metroid, it's just a six year recalibration less a colossal failure
I love Mass Effect Andromeda ❤️
And I 100% completed Mass Effect 1 when it came out with some 200 hours.
Bruh i thought cod mw23 would been here but nope this didnt aged well
I loved Doom 3 when it came out. Played it so much on my Xbox original. I loved it lioe Rez4, just a good spooky game for its time.
Microsoft would make bank if they just let other companies produce Halo games. They could still keep Halo studios around if they really wanted like a “home” company that produced mainline. But sharing the IP to produce spinoffs…why are they sleeping on that? Guess they just don’t like money.
What other companies make Halo game???
Yeah, like Bungie
Not him messing up the names.😂
"bolognas" 😂
09:35
It's Modelo time, foos.
Should do a follow up I.e saintsrow (rip)
50 seconds ago is crazy
i found this video after 19 years
Keeping it a buck.
Why did you ask for a pronunciation of the last name but not "Bolognese"?? 😅😂
"Bowl-a-nays" btw lmao
BOLOGNA?!?!
Prince of Persia.
Dying light is soo good to thank god
Bol-a-nayze
Bffr with Jimenez that isnt hard.
Spaghetti bologna 🤣
Everything released after 343 took over Halo:
Feel like the 007 one was abit unfair i mean tbh the series as a whole was losing steam and mind share before the games started fallin off iirc.
Tho lol man you really where a xbox only kid huh 😂
SAINTS ROW 3 KILLED SAINTS ROW
Actually 4 and that spin off game did
Hope Veilguard is on this list lmao
*I really want a Saints Row F2P level shooter with like 20 characters from the entire franchise* 😍
Surprised you guys didn't include Alan Wake. There was a very long period of time where fans didn't think we'd get a sequel. And now not only is there a sequel but an entire universe being built with Control 2 on the way.
I was the 1000th like
Nice
Dude you need to stop with the high pitched UA-cam Kids voice, It's so forced
Duke Nukem Forevor was fantastic, but it performed poorly from word of mouth. It really is one of those "you should play it instead of watching youtube videos" sorts of games.
I mean, most of the time we can just look and see something's terrible. Veilguard and conchord are two recent examples. However, if someone's reading this and hasn't played dnf, give it a burl. It's fun.
Lol saying forever was good just telling on yourself on how bad your taste is
@@LunaPPK Maybe you enjoy other games people consider bad. I certainly wouldn't say you have bad taste no matter which Dark Souls you say you enjoy. It's an insane thing to say to someone you've never met.
Nice
