This is old but. You more than likely have high porosity hair. Do research on how to moisturize and care for high porosity hair. Aloe vera works wonders. Instead of keeping a spray bottle of water, use a bottle of aloe Vera. It's acidic enough to deal your cuticles. Green beauty channel on UA-cam has a very helpful video on porosity. Good luck.

braids doesn't necessarily means breakage. Ur hair will naturally shed after braids. BUT BREAKAGE CAN BE CAUSED FROM MANIPULATION,BRAIDS BEING TO TIGHT, WASHING YOUR HAIR TO MUCH ....ITS A PROTECTIVE STYLE AND ISNT MEANT TO BE BOTHERED AS IF ITS YOUR ACTUAL HAIR FOR A PURPOSE...
YOUR HAIR BETTER GROWS WHEN U PUT IT IN A STYLE AND LEAVE IT THE HELL ALOONE .IF YOU GOING TO BE DOING ALL THIS EXTRA STUFF EVERY OTHER DAY AND WEEK THERES NO POINT IN HAVING THE PROTECTIVE STYLE
BECAUSE SOME CONDITIONER WILL CAUSE BUILD UP ON YA HAIR A LIL OIL HERE IN THERE IS FINE NOT TO MUCH. BECAUSE WITH BOX BRAIDS IT'LL JUST BUILD UP ND CAUSE LIL KNOTS THATS ALIL HARDER TO DETANGLE ND MAY TAKE OFF MORE THAN JUST THE SHEDDING OF YOUR HAIR AT THE STARTING OF YOUR BRAID....ALL ADVICE ISNT GOOD ADVICE ..
Thanks so much for this I taught I was the only one things this way
I just spray water on my braids, and then afterwards I spray with my favourite leave in conditioner! I only use peppermint and she's butter on my edges in the evening and cleanse it in the morning and then spray the leave in conditioner!
Am I the only one that was spending the entire video trying to figure out what her shirt said?
Bigger hair is better
The bigger the hair the harder...something. can't see the very bottom
The bigger the hair the harder they stare

First time i got braids and never really thought about the moysturising part till i saw this video..thank you very helpful!!
That purple background though was too popping 🙅
To moisturize my scalp, I use Shea Butter leave-in conditioner & seal it with the Hot Six Oil Mist. Is this OK?
This video is so on point! Thank you. I was wondering how I could wear braids and still use the LCO method. I was just telling my sister how many people, including myself wear braids to grow hair but it is so dry and weak when taking it out. The hair sheds so much! Also I just like to add that I also will moisturize my hair & braids right before taking them out. I hope this will help with hair friction and not break my hair while taking out the braids. Love your videos!
I'm concerned about my hair locking while in braids and wetting it so I'm just greasing my scalp every other day and using coconut oil on my hair do u think this will help growth
I just use witch hazel to wipe my scalp
You should give some physical examples along with you talking and suggested of Brands types to use.
Bla bla bla bla🙄
Hey ladies can anyone advise me on,how long can I keep my relaxed hair in box braids without having excessive breakage?
How do you wash the shampoo out without creating frizz?
Doesn't wetting your braids cause them to be fuzzy?
Mermaid Princess yes but would you rather have fuzzy braids or massive breakage?
Adriana Matorian braids doesn't necessarily means breakage. Ur hair will naturally shed after braids. BUT BREAKAGE CAN BE CAUSED FROM MANIPULATION AND OVER WASHING YOUR HAIR ....ITS A PROTECTIVE STYLE AND ISNT MEANT TO BE BOTHERED AS IF ITS YOUR ACTUAL HAIR FOR A PURPOSE
Not if you wash gently with diluted shampoo and use some gel and tie it down afterwards.
@@nikkib5674 Gel is going to break it off. Just leave it alone.
Great Video! You simplified this so well. Thank You :)
Could you do a video on an everyday moisturizing hair regimen with oils etc. please I have naturally dry hair it breaks really easy :(
Love it 😍!!! You made it sound so simple!!!
I just got braids this week, will definitely try this especially since I have been almost three years natural.i have been deep conditioning my hair at least weekly and washing and cowashing weekly as well or when I fell it's excessively dirty.
I currently have single braids and once a week i would put oil on my scalp but i cant tell if i have new growth or the braids are just lossening.. What do u think??!! Please help !
You have new growth
+Alyssa Hill (XoxBeauty101) thanks 🤔
Jenean Boone it could also be the braid sliding down. Just feel your scalp
I totally get what you are saying. I would like to know does it depend on the hair type you have. Because I use to perm my hair, but I have been transitioning back to natural, and so when I wash my hair and apply conditioner my hair is really soft even when I let in air dry. So when I wash my braids they tend to slide fast then some one with different hair type.
Usually when I wash my braids my naturally curly hair starts to come out. What can I do to prevent this?
sarahannfam98 you can’t do nothing
I hardly every wash my hair while in braids but be as gentle as you can with it and maybe add the moisturizers and oils you use while your hairs damp or wet and maybe your hair won't curl as much
Thank you I'm getting box braids friday and wonder how to wash the extension. Great tips

Your videos are always so helpful
Can someone please help me, I have box braids with naturally curly hair and I just washed my braids but now my hair is poking out through the braids. Will my natural hair lay back down or are my braids kind of ruined now?
Thanks, this was super helpful. I did my first wash this weekend in my braids. i even deep conditioned and i loved it. it felt so nice to get rid of all that product build up.
Yes I do everything you stated without watering down my products and when I cowash my hair..when it's time for me to rinse out the conditioner I just put 4 jumbo braids in my hair and rinse out that way so the extensions don't slip..thanks for the tips
- Did they become frizzy because of this?
So if my daughter has box braids I should wash them like normal but with a watered down version. How do I keep her hair from frizzing up after?
How can you prevent shedding after braids, you can't..its a natural process, its dead hair that needs to go lol
Whenever i wash my hair in braids in always comes out quicker

Yes
you really shouldn't do it more than 3 months. I'd recommend two!
How often should I wash my hair when I have braids. Like every week or two weeks.
Yes I would like to know this too
+Tobi Sul wash your braids as often as you usually do. So, for example, if you usually wash your hair every 3 weeks, then you should wash your braids every 3 weeks.
Does this apply to Senegalese twist?
Yes I used this method for mine

I have a question I don't have box braids but can it break your hair or grow your hair wearing box braids?
Box braids are really good at helping retain length and if they are kept properly, they shouldn't cause breakage.

THANK YOU..YOUR VIDEO WAS VERY HELPFUL
I moisturize my hair in braids by mixing greek yogurt and mayo together once a week

+Breanna Rutter So you can deep condition with box braids?
how often should i moisyurize my hair?
Are box braids good for your hair ? Will it cause a lot of breakage or make my hair fall out ?
no braids are awesome if kept correctly because since they are a protective style, they help stop breakage and retain more length. also, they're great for the summer because you can wear them swimming and in the sun while keeping your hair tucked away
can you mousturise your hair everyday
can you use leave in conditioner as oil

can you mousturise your hair everyday
I have a question. So if we water our box braids won't they get nappy? Or they will stay the same?
Well, if you have natural hair and drench you hair with the water then obliviously your curls will "activate" and then frizz happens. But, if you simply just mist/dampen your hair I think you should be fine.
Awe okay thanks so much
Thank you for information.
Heyy, what's the name of your book again and where can I get it from?
You can get it on her website
just got my box braids using marley hair.... this is RIGHT on time! fyi.... you look younger ever darn time you make a video! What are you doing?
What products do you recommend
How do you go natural with out a perm . Only getting brAids and hot comb?
if you don't have a perm then you are already natural. braids is just a protective style you wear bc it seals the ends and protects your hair. you still do have to care for your natural hair while in the braids. and hot combing is not needed because when you are natural you are trying to avoid heat.
OK thanks..
thanks for your advice
