      This is old but. You more than likely have high porosity hair. Do research on how to moisturize and care for high porosity hair. Aloe vera works wonders. Instead of keeping a spray bottle of water, use a bottle of aloe Vera. It's acidic enough to deal your cuticles. Green beauty channel on UA-cam has a very helpful video on porosity. Good luck.

    braids doesn't necessarily means breakage. Ur hair will naturally shed after braids. BUT BREAKAGE CAN BE CAUSED FROM MANIPULATION,BRAIDS BEING TO TIGHT, WASHING YOUR HAIR TO MUCH ....ITS A PROTECTIVE STYLE AND ISNT MEANT TO BE BOTHERED AS IF ITS YOUR ACTUAL HAIR FOR A PURPOSE...
    YOUR HAIR BETTER GROWS WHEN U PUT IT IN A STYLE AND LEAVE IT THE HELL ALOONE .IF YOU GOING TO BE DOING ALL THIS EXTRA STUFF EVERY OTHER DAY AND WEEK THERES NO POINT IN HAVING THE PROTECTIVE STYLE
    BECAUSE SOME CONDITIONER WILL CAUSE BUILD UP ON YA HAIR A LIL OIL HERE IN THERE IS FINE NOT TO MUCH. BECAUSE WITH BOX BRAIDS IT'LL JUST BUILD UP ND CAUSE LIL KNOTS THATS ALIL HARDER TO DETANGLE ND MAY TAKE OFF MORE THAN JUST THE SHEDDING OF YOUR HAIR AT THE STARTING OF YOUR BRAID....ALL ADVICE ISNT GOOD ADVICE ..

    I just spray water on my braids, and then afterwards I spray with my favourite leave in conditioner! I only use peppermint and she's butter on my edges in the evening and cleanse it in the morning and then spray the leave in conditioner!

    This video is so on point! Thank you. I was wondering how I could wear braids and still use the LCO method. I was just telling my sister how many people, including myself wear braids to grow hair but it is so dry and weak when taking it out. The hair sheds so much! Also I just like to add that I also will moisturize my hair & braids right before taking them out. I hope this will help with hair friction and not break my hair while taking out the braids. Love your videos!

    I totally get what you are saying. I would like to know does it depend on the hair type you have. Because I use to perm my hair, but I have been transitioning back to natural, and so when I wash my hair and apply conditioner my hair is really soft even when I let in air dry. So when I wash my braids they tend to slide fast then some one with different hair type.

    • @janasiaunderwood196

      Well, if you have natural hair and drench you hair with the water then obliviously your curls will "activate" and then frizz happens. But, if you simply just mist/dampen your hair I think you should be fine.

    • @deee527
      @deee527 9 років тому +1

      if you don't have a perm then you are already natural. braids is just a protective style you wear bc it seals the ends and protects your hair. you still do have to care for your natural hair while in the braids. and hot combing is not needed because when you are natural you are trying to avoid heat.
