    Hi Karen! So glad that I found your channel. When wearing braids I like to use a leave in spray or cream. I don’t have a lot of greys but my hair likes to tangle on itself. Am I doing something wrong?

      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому

      Hello Felicia! So do you mean it tangles while in braids and you use the moisturizer? I don’t think I fully understand your question.

    When you say "hair grease" , since you don't mean coconut oil or olive oil, could you give some examples? Thank you. Great video.

      Hi Char! I was just referring to 'petroleum' based products -- like Blue Magic for example. I used the Design Essential Hair and Scalp Treatment, but its still falls under 'hair grease'. lol. I never use it on my loose natural hair because its simply too heavy, but works well in a protective style.

    Loving the hair! Yes I need help with my hair doing moisture and I do not like to have my hair as I call juicy? I do not like
    Wearing the twist. I've been wearing my hair afro style hair. Will keep up with you. But it have to get my funds to get care care
    as well as a good trim. I'm here in Colorado Springs, so yes this high altitude plays a roll on my hair.
    What do u think about 🤔 VO5 hair oil.
    And this is my look that is on my calendar of my art. Lol. 🤗

      Your hair looks FABULOUS Ms. Ethel! I am not a fan of VO5 oil as it is full of parabens and other toxic ingredients, and quite frankly, it is not even an oil. I checked the ingredients and it has no oil in it all. i would stick to natural oils. Have you tried any natural oils -- shea butter, coconut, mango butter, etc? Or even hair grease? Seems like you can put your hair in big chunky twists using a cream moisturizer and seal with a light oil or butter.

    Greetings Karen, do you have a more in-depth video of the cornrow pattern that was used on your hair? Also, what type of crochet hair did you use?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому

      Hello there! I used passion twist hair - 18 inches. I don’t have a more in depth video. But the pattern is very simple. Your hair should be cornrowed going up into a ponytail - literally a ponytail on top of your head. And after it’s cornrowed put your hair in a ponytail so use a band to put it in a ponytail. Then crochet. It’s between 16 and 20 cornrows total. If I get it again I will do a better video. Lol 😂 Also, I believe I gave the exact name of the hair in a previous comment if you want to take a peek at some of the other comments. Someone asked the same question. Hope this helps

    Please give us a lesson on HOW TO TELL a conditioner/treatment is really working, Everyone says "my hair feels soft"...Is that the only Criteria? What about Bond treatments? Looking forward to the lesson

    Hi Karen
    Can you use a curl activator as a moisturizer on natural hair?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Рік тому

      Hi Edna! You sure can! Most typical curl activators have vegetable glycerin as the primary ingredient. Glycerin is a humectant which does an amazing job of keeping the hair moisturized.

      My stylist Danita in Richmond (she is not taking anyone new but I can make another referral if someone else who can do this). Thank you so much! I am going to take it out in a few weeks and put it back in next month, but will do a “real” video on how to do it.
