- Here's a quick and easy way to wash your senegalese twist and marley twists in 10 mins! I kept my twists in for 1 month. I wore my hair in this style while I was in Mexico ( pool, ocean etc) I washed my hair everyday, so my hair got super frizzy. But this washing method is super easy and great for anyone who can't spend alot of time doing their hair.

I did this once every 7-10 days while doing a light cool water rinse in between on the twists or scalp if a little itchy or dry. I also would add a mousse then seal with an oil then tie it down with a satin scarf which kept frizz to a minimum.. My hair had very little build up after 2 months and my hair was very very soft and the elasticity unbothered...better than before even
Did you have extensions in as well?
I know mousse doesn’t condition your hair, so may I ask why you sealed it with oil?
Very easy and simple routine, it doesn't look like there would be much damage to your natural in one month. It look really heavy while wet though!

Your twist are so pretty even after vacation. I tried these twist this past summer and my hair unraveled from the kinky hair, it literally lasted 1.5 weeks, my natural hair texture is not a good match for the twists hair, I was so mad because I love the style and the simplicity of it.
Jbutterfly15 whoever braided your hair didn't do the best job my mom wore here twists for 3 months
. happilyashley it's the texture of my hair that didn't work well with that kinky hair that I used, I have 2 textures of hair deep wave w/bone straight ends and curly both very course and very thick, it literally unraveled from the synthetic hair after 1.5 weeks. It does well with box braids with kanokolin hair. I'll stick with that for protective styling.
Lil Jon Snow I didn't, I used kankoline with my box braids which worked out great. I used the proper kinky hair for the twist that my natural hair wouldn't stay in even with proper technique and product. I had proper guidance with style, it just didn't work with my natural hair, which is a mix of various textures due to genetics simply put. Thank you and I appreciate the guidance and response.😊

My routine is very similar except I wash with the hair in a hairnet. Water makes the hair so heavy, I don't want my hair stretched and pulled, and the hair doesn't slip. The net stays on until the hair is practically dry.

Loved this super detailed. I am always worried about full on washing causing my hair to frizz out or matte when I remove. Have you experienced any matting once you remove?
JOURDAN LONDON I washed mine on a weekly basis when I wore my hair like this, she does every 2 weeks. Mine did not mat.

How did you prepare your twist before you went swimming ?
I usually use a spray bottle when I wash my hair but I’ll try this and see if it works.

Just a comment about how you rub your fingers through the twists: I noticed that you showed not rubbing with fingers on the hair island itself, but trying to rub in the parts to help prevent frizz. However, when you were using both hands to scrub the hair, how did you keep your fingers to only rub in the parts?

Does washing your seneglese twists cause your hair to get matted? I know when I washed my hair with twist in it my hair got matted but it was all my natural hair it didn't have any weave in. I wonder if It'll be a difference when I add weave.
So glad I saw this video. Next week I am installing two-strand twist extensions (with kinky/Marley hair) and I'll be in Mexico two weeks later. I will definitely be in the water everyday. YaY!

I'm very very new to this natural hair journal because I relaxed my hair when I was 10, then wore braids for 6 years to let it grow but my teacher forced me to change that so I relaxed it again and 1,5 year later I braided it again.
Now a half year later I did a big chop 2 days ago, because of your video's och I love them so much!
So, I'm trying to figure out how to take care of my hair.
Today I bought the eco styler protein gel but I'm wondering if I have to rinse it out before sleeping or can I just leave it in?

I already took my hair out. After a month of no Detangle Nguyen you will have ALOT of she'd hair, which is normal. We lose 50 to 100 strands a day.. now multiple that by 30 days

It depends.. I only wear them for about 2motnhs. I wouldn’t recommend going passed 3

Yes you can. But real twist will have a lot more frizz. Hair extensions keep the hair from frizzing as much

I have been diagnosed with scalp eczema but I need a natural home-made hair regimen I can stick to which allows me to moisturise the scalp at least twice a week & not every day. Hi, i hope that you would reply to this / anyone would. I'm asian, and i really wanted to do twist braids / box braids. I never did this before, so i have few questions to ask.
1- Usually how long does the braid stays? A month? Two or three?
2- When drying, is it okay to use hair dryer instead of squeezing and drying it with towels?
3- Usually how many times should i wash my hair in a week? Or should i wash it only when my scalp starts to get flaky / when the hair starts to smell?
4- For example, i wash and do all the hair care routine on monday. For the next day onwards, is it okay if i just apply hair care products (such as argan oils) repeatedly till my next hair wash (which is probably on wednesday / friday?)

No I said wash, condition, Moisturize and seal.
You can speed up the drying time if you blow dry but I prefer to air dry.

Love Myself no. If your hair is done properly they will stay in and not slid off of your real hair.

It can and will slip depending on the installing method. Some people start the twist with a braid and some start with twisting at the roots. If your twists starts with a braid, it will start to slip once that water and product hits it.
