The main thing that kept my interest in the first half of the song is the chorus vocals. “mar-KET-ing suicide, we won’t CRACK or compromise, your de-RIS-ory divides will-“ The indignant way Alex rants those lines out and the emphasis on some of the syllables sounds so fucking cool. Reminds me of something from my childhood, some nursery rhyme or movie song or something. Can’t think of what it reminds me of, but it sounds so intense and rhythmically interesting here.
This 5 track ep came out the day i saw them in London April 2006, they played 3 of 5 live. This song, Cigarette Smoker Fiona & The View from the Afternoon (on both album & ep)
I found this CD at FYE by chance. One of the best choices I ever made. You gotta see The No Buses live mtv performance. It's from this album too, probably up there in the top 3 favorite AM songs.
never requested a song here before, but saw your sam fender vids and thought you’d enjoy listening to a song from his most recent album called “seventeen going under”, growing up in the same place as him (northeast of england) the lyrics and topical discussions are often very poignant to what i see in the area around where i live
