I feel like the thing with this song, and the album, is that they're not the usual "I'm gonna put this on my everyday playlist". It's a specific vibe, like a cold rainy autumn night with dim lights and a drink in your hand
yes I love this one,but I say that about almost all of their songs. Honestly I love all of their albums and TBHC is underrated now but it’s ahead of it’s time and will be appreciated more as time passes
I think this album took me about four or five (pun unintended) listens before I got the groove of it and started liking it. I definitely had about the same reaction as you - I was intrigued so I had to process it more. Don’t sleep on this album though, it’s great!
The love how laid-back and chill this album is. Weekend wake and bake music. Like the title of the album it reminds me of those old 50s, 60s hotel casino bands playing.
this album was widely disliked at first release, but as the years have passed it has become a sort of fan favourite and cult classic, with many people calling it their favourite. It is probably the album that grew the most for me through more listens. I hated it and it is now one of my favourite albums ever. just so unique and witty. if you ever decide to do a full album reaction, this is one to consider

TBHC is my favorite Arctic Monkeys album. It's such a vibe album. You should try the title track, "Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino".
Perhaps vampires is a bit much but... is a great song and I reckon you'd love it
