I LOVE BEN RUNNING ALL THE STAGE TO PLAY THE ONLY NOTE IN THE CYMBAL FOR THE INTRO
iconic lmaoo
OMG Ben is wearing a Monkeys t-shirt just like Matt Helders wore a Royal Blood shirt 10 years ago!
Full circle moment
I thought of exactly that, at last he returned the favor.
I'm fairly certain they're friends
That's a fantastic connection! It's always exciting to see musicians paying homage to their fellow artists and creating those subtle nods and connections through their fashion choices. When artists wear band t-shirts of their peers, it's a testament to the mutual respect and admiration within the music community.
actually in 2014 Ben use a t shirt with a photo of Matt using the Royal Blood shirt
Just saw these guys open for Muse, it's just unbelievable they are just two. The live sound is absolutely massive
yoo i was there that show was so good
Wow! I bet that was one killer show!
Saw them in The Hague, they put up a hell of a show.
Saw them open for Muse, in Plymouth. Totally brilliant!
@@kenspeechley1867 same show but in San Siro :)
I saw these guys open for the Foo Fighters back in 2017 and they sounded incredible. Absolutely mental sound from a two piece.
Cal Jam?
@@samondrums4337 I was there!
yip, ive seen them too at Murrayfield 2017 before Foo's and straight away i knew they are unique. Same was with Mastodon when I saw them before Metallica 2007 at Wembley :)
I didn't know they're were a 2 piece until this video. Wow! It's beyond me how he makes a bass sound like that!
Same!!
I was like, “where’s the rest of the band?” OMG, these guys ROCK and sound incredible.
The rest of the band are backstage.
@@mogmason6920 that's just wrong though.
@@phipschi4255 There are backup singers and guitarist for some songs in the back / dark area of the stage. This one sounds like it's just the two of them.
@daviddavis1322 how do you know? Many say it's not true.. it's pedals, and in some cases they use back tracks..
This guy is covering guitar and bass parts on a short scale Gretsch bass and doing a hell of a job. excellent
So glad to see Ben Thatcher supporting indie bands with their merch
It's a reference to when the arctic monkeys drummer wore royal blood merch to Glastonbury 10 years ago XD
the audience chanting the solo will always make us smile
Check out their perfomance at lollapalooza argentina
The crowd went wild and the band was way better than rhcp who headlined that day
Nawnawnananananaw
Lmao at Ben sprinting towards his drumset for a single cymbal hit
He ain't missing his cue for the world lmao
I thought I will be impressed by a guy playing bass like a guitar. Instead, I am more impressed by how fluid this drummer is.
Benji is amazing
And for all the gear snobs, homie is playing Glastonbury’s main stage on a $300 bass.
To be fair, he has a few thousand quid worth of pedals
@@Jxgzy Yeah when you're processing the bass as much as he is, you don't really need amazing pickups. Just something that plays well and stays in tune
And a $300 pitch shifting pedal and a $3000 wireless system. XD
@@jamesorrell7462fairly sure he will have swapped the pickups from whatever muddy ones came in the guitar. But if he hasn't, that's maximum rock 'n roll!
I literally bought this exact bass in this colour last year because of him as my first bass guitar.
Normally, he uses a sunburst one, so it was pretty cool seeing this thumbnail of him holding nearly exactly what I have in front of me.
These videos are coming out thick and fast and I am definitely here for it!
its amazing how confident they come across. 2 people in front of 80,000 like its what they were born to do. Definite tip of the hat to Page and Bonham in their sound
Such a groove, bread and butter. Love how when rock bands get skinny it just amplifies the rhythm and groove. White stripes. Less is more, or mess is lore
Love the use of octave effects to bring the bass into the forefront
Yeah, I believe he runs some octave stuff and then through actual guitar amps as well.
The octave (up) is actually used to emulate a guitar with his bass.
Thanks for explaining. Was looking for the guitarist...
@@BryceDriesengaI did some research and he’s not using traditional amps, he’s using FOUR KEMPERS!!! FOUR FUCKING KEMPERS!!!
@@batshitmasterplan Ooh dang. Not sure if he's always done that or that's more recent? Wild though!
I really dig Royal Blood. Their latest album blew me away.
I love them, the latest album is objectively the weakest too so if you haven’t heard the 1st or 2nd, they’ll be sure to impress ❤️
@@flaminghorizon1510 exactly my thoughts... It's not a bad album but it's pretty weak but it does have some bangers
@@flaminghorizon1510 I dig their earlier stuff too. I know I'm in the minority, but I really like their latest.
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast here here, typhoons was such a breath of fresh air
@@glitchedout8079 That's how I felt. I don't dislike their earlier stuff but I really liked the change of pace.
That live bass tone is a punch in the face..!!!😱
I was in this audience and they were phenomenal
That's alotta noise and great sound for just two blokes 👍
Saw them last week at Muse's concert in Lyon they were just fantastic love them 🥰🥰
That's amazing! Attending a Muse concert in Lyon must have been an incredible experience, especially with the fantastic performances from Arctic Monkeys. Muse is known for their captivating live shows, filled with stunning visuals, energetic performances, and a powerful stage presence. Combining their electrifying performance with the talent and charm of Arctic Monkeys surely made for an unforgettable night.
@@you_tune Nice AI/Bot reply
I just saw them on Sunday in Milton Keynes 🤌, both Royal Blood and Muse, AMAZING.
@@wackyweasel804i thought royal blood looked a little flat compared to when ive seen them before... maybe glasto was a heavy one for them 😂
@@wackyweasel804 i was there too. incredible!
My man running to get to the drums in time. Best!
First time seeing these guys in a couple days as they are a scheduled to open for Queens of the Stone Age. Can’t wait!
Why is there never any low end in BBC music mixes? This is literally a bassist and a drummer and there's such a lack of bass in the mix!
I've noticed that all of these mixes have been horrible so far
Welcome to Glastonbury. Where the mix is shit, moshing is frowned upon and 90% of the audience is too high to notice who the fuck is playing
mixed for tv or iphones tbh
You'll find they're using pretty much the same mix that they send out to the audience (with the addition of audience facing mics) and because bass carries further, the FOH mixing engineer won't mix as much bass into the music because it's coming through the main speakers at a decent volume.
probably set up for pop music and signers rather than actual bands that play instruments live.
its a big assumption but the speaker set up has similar design to the Muse concert in Glasgow last friday i was at, being in the crowd you heard it, was great audio. so the crowd most likely enjoyed it, but how that converts into a video to be streamed i dont know if the need to adapt anything. the Foo Fighter videos sounded loud, not sure why this one sounds different.
Cant believe its the first time I hear them.. DAAAAAAAMN GOOOOD
Got 3 albums to catch up on, a lot of people love the first 2 albums the most and I'm not gonna argue about it, but the 3rd album has some amazing songs on it even if it's a got more synths and other sounds in there. Hopefully you've been watching Royal Blood videos ever since lol :D
@@Kompoism thanks for the advice!
Recently got into this duo I got their first three albums, typhoons took a couple of hearings to get into, but the first two was immediately I like this.
Dang I had only heard their studio stuff, they put on a hell of a show
3:50 I got goosebumps
We saw Royal Blood in Birmingham last year, and they were unbelievable good.
I initially thought Royal Blood were alright but after a few listens I got really into them. Thank god they're bringing back good music into the charts
A friggin power duo for the luv 🙌
My fav Blood's song !
Excellent live !!!
Top notch performance! And what a crowd! You can hear them singing along to every word!
Muse, Artic Monkeys, and Royal Blood on tour together would be pretty 🔥🔥🔥
A tour featuring Muse, Arctic Monkeys, and Royal Blood would undoubtedly be a powerhouse collaboration of rock music. These three bands have carved their own unique paths in the music industry, each bringing their distinctive styles and energetic performances to the stage. The combination of Muse's grandiose and epic soundscapes, Arctic Monkeys' infectious indie rock anthems, and Royal Blood's powerful and hard-hitting rock would create an electrifying atmosphere that fans would be buzzing about.
I would sell my kidney for this
@@you_tunethank you for a very inspirational prophecy
I need QOTSA toooo!
Muse and Royal Blood are already touring right now 🔥🤘🏻
Mike is a musical Jedi!!!!!!
Their performance is always amazing 🔥
I love those guys so much for making great music with just two instruments
i saw them open for qotsa in 2017, they were sick then, i'm glad to see them on the rise nowadays
Soooooo Cool!!!!
Im so lucky im getting to see these guys twice this year. Saw Royal Blood at the 02 last year and i was blown away. This year im seeing a little live show at Pryzm in Kingston upon Thames at the end of August and then again at the Hammersmith Apollo in October - the big one. I cant wait for either, Royal Blood are awesome live and really know how to get the crowd going. ❤️
Best act i seen at Glastonbury
I Love the vibe of glasto
Brilliant band 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👊🏻🇬🇧
This went off!!!!
Royal Blood is insane 🤩🔥🤘🖤
Saw them open up for foo fighters in 2015. Such a great fckn duo.
Saw them live in 2014 at Electric Ballroom, Camden, London. Great band
Best band Royal blood never disappoints love them ❤️ ♥️
Rock n Rolll will be just fine
Just a bass player and drummer??? My mind is fucking blown right now!
I feel like I've Rock n Roll for 1st time... again...
Amazing and smashed it ...ace rock n roll finish.

from long time, i was not seeing a Ludwig Lm402 in a live performer ... great.. i really love it
Perfeitos
Ok i want that Bass guitar !!! Fucking amazing❤🔥🔥
You guys ate so good I hope to see you live in the future
must be a super busy guy, playing drums in royal blood and rapping in run the jewels
FANTASTIC!!!!
Looks like one of my old workplaces, two men doing the work of 5 or 6
5 or 6? calm down man, it's more like 3-4. It's still impressive though
Genius.
I saw RB open for Gun n Roses a few years back. I was floored it was two guys! 🤘🤘🤘
Great band, i love RB since day 1
man I love that distorted bass
i didn't even know that a bass could sound like this. dude is amazing.
How the fuck is that much sound from 2 instruments!!! And how can they sound so good live!!
Un real!
The frame at 1:31... just amazing
Agreed, such an amazing shot!
0:09 isn't bad either!
Mike playing the shit outta that Gretsch. Unreal sound
We had tickets to see RB in April 2020 but for some reason that didn't work out. So far they haven't been in our area but as soon as they are we're there.
Just.YES BIT!
1:44 ok that was epic
Got the EXACT same bass 😍🤘
Just a guy and a bass...a guy and a drum set...MAKING SUCH AMAZING NOISE! 🤘❤️🔥🤘
Never heard of them but I like it
Rock!!!🎸
Royal blood are the best ❤
Absolutely! Royal Blood is undeniably one of the most exciting and dynamic rock bands of recent years. Their unique blend of heavy, riff-driven rock and infectious melodies has garnered them a dedicated and passionate fanbase.
@@you_tune and I'm a loyal part or this fanbase! I can't wait for the new album to come out 😍
@@addsfsds That's fantastic to hear! Being a loyal part of the fanbase is a wonderful feeling, as it means you have a deep connection and appreciation for the music and artistry of the band. Anticipating the release of a new album is an exciting time filled with anticipation and curiosity about the direction the band will take with their music.
come to brazil!
FIRE. THE. SOUNDMAN!
Amazing

Holly! ❤ Greetings from Japan 🇯🇵
Don't know much about this band but that dude can rip some sounds out of that 4 string
Try listening to their first album without skipping any song
@@moonirah123that's easy because they're all so good.
Me either. But after seeing that this band is just bass and drums... i love em now.
The music is a bit too simple isn't it ? Basic bitch music haha
2 guys? 2 GUYS?? lol lol these guys are freaking great! Amazing!
Ben just dances his ass off behind the kit. So fun to watch .
This band or should I say Duo are incredible
royal blood is underrated!
Lol
LOL! Overrated more like.
@@MrRatclima Thank you! I got the album, listened to it once and never again.
@@TheMusicalElitist Name checks out
overrated lol. Its a two piece with simple tunes.
WOW!!!
Just listened it for the first time, this is fcking awesome
I called this track from the start, I even told Mike in Manchester (thirsty scholars pub) that figure it out was the true banger.
He might be southern but at least he listened to the wisdom (eventually).
Love how realised he wasn't going to make it at the beginning!
WOOOOWWWW
Had to get a Gretch shortscale after that song first came out. Have the burst one. Kid wants to learn to play it. And yeah I figured it out. England isnt that big of a place. Sent here for safe keeping theory. K💜
Awesome band
After so many years i'm still feeling sorry for them... As we're music listeners we owe them huge succes, we didn't get them a huge monthly listeners on spotify... Theirs songs on another level and they are the last representatives of rock music with Queens of the Stone Age...
New album went number 1 in the Charts
Yeah i heard that, it's fantastic.@@ush45
@@ush45 then why they still opening for people?
Along with Viagra boys and QOTSA, the highlight of glasto this year. Can see why they are touring with Muse, the bassist is basically Chris Wolstenholme on crack (not slagging Chris, he is a phenomenal bassist and innovative with riffs and tones, but Kerr took that and really ran with it).
🔥🔥🔥
👏👏👏 how its done. Very nice
There are few universal truths in this world. The complete inability of a crowd to clap in time is one them.
😂😂
I can imagine how massive their sound is
Absolutely! Both Muse and Arctic Monkeys are known for their powerful and impactful sound that fills arenas and captivates audiences. Their music is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, combining intricate instrumentals, dynamic vocals, and a rich sonic landscape that creates an immersive and larger-than-life experience.
