About Axl's voice: - he struggles in mid range (mixed voice sounding like Mickey) BUT - not only his deep voice is great, but his very high voice is also amazing (that's why he was so surprisingly good with acdc but struggles with some gnr songs)
Wtf has happened to axl. That voice sounds like something from an alien or someone whos been sucking the helium out of a balloon. Axl listen to yourself.
Seen guns n roses live twice, 2008 & 2017 both time Axl had his traditional gravelly scream. This sounds like someone whose been huffing on the helium. Weird.
Honestly, at first, I was a little like, why do this to yourself? He doesn't sound that bad at times. His low voice is still rather good and some of the scream parts are still dang impressive at his age and what he's probably put that throat and vocal chords through.
I remember hearing this on the radio 24yrs ago when I had my first HIFI. I recorded it on tape. I didn’t really understand rock. But I liked it. I knew oasis. But this was more raw and kinda simple. Like the beat. But the chorus was colourful. I liked the chorus I loved how they kept singing the chorus.
Hay estrellas de rock. Más virutosos, tocan instrumentos, y suenan mejor, su voz de Axel no suena ni se entiende bien siendo honesto. Es solo un rockstar que canta (apenas)
I'm a huge guns fan and expected Axl to sound like this, 40 years of screeching your voice will do that, the mans 61, but damnnn the energy they all bring to the stage is fantastic! And you can tell theyre all having fun, the fans, the crew and band, its a win win :)
weird one really I saw them live twice once at Slane Castle in 2017 and then Download 2018 and Axl sounded great but it just varies some nights they have it some nights they don't
He’s a joke now. If SNL did a parody of Guns N’ Roses and Pete Davidson sang as Axl it would still sound better than this. Drunk people singing karaoke sound better than this.
What I wouldn't give for Axl to give up the Mickey Mouse voice and just go full chest-voice. He's got a really good baritone and lower register that sounds much better.
How funny it is to think that in 1988 he said he didn't want to end up like Bruce Dickinson, and look who Bruce still sings, gives first-class concerts and remains tremendous for his age, and the other one, well...
Hot damn Mr. Axle Rose! He has literally been working his ass off. He's looking real good. Healthy. He's been working on his vocals too. Can annunciate and all. Good Work Axle! Knew you could do it.
People complaining about his voice. You can play guitar, bass and drums till your 90yrs old. That's easily done. But your voice will go out on you with age. This is the best I've heard him in years. He not 20 years old anymore. But he can still sing the hell out of these songs.🙂
Just saw iron maiden, Bruce is better than ever. Def Leppard still nails it, Geoff Tate from queensryche is still amazing... the list goes on. Axl sounds ridiculous.
Not true, with proper training you sing BETTER when you get older. Luciano Pavarotti was at his absolute peak right before his death. With that said it's not an easy feat by any measure, and it's a lot easier when you take care of your body and health, something that was not really fashionable back in 80-90's rock.
Really enjoyed Guns n Roses set! The sound engineer shoulda turned up Axls MIC, couldn't always hear him. I was impressed at all the racing around the stage LOL Axl certainly has stamina. Slash was INCREDIBLE! Great band, and one of my Glasto highlights.
I reckon the BBC turned him down on the TV mix so as not to offend I mean he’s unusually loud for these times; all the more for those misogynistic lyrics to offend lol
Gotta give credit to Axl. His voice has greatly diminished from his peak in the 80s and 90s, but he's still out there singing with his own voice instead of resorting to lip syncing to studio vocals like so many other singers. That shows integrity.
@@NamikSokolovic3778HAH! AXL once had the goods, but that day has passed his last great vocals was when he subbed for Brian Johnson in AC/DC, but since then Myles can sing rings around Axl! Sad but true!

No, not really the sound. Axl sounds like Mickey Mouse these days 90% of the time. It actually amazes me how so few call it out. In my opinion it taints the legacy of early Guns N’ Roses, he can’t sing the songs anymore. People seem to lap it up though. Slash and the lads are still great of course. It’s a pity. He was one of the greatest vocalists ever back in the day.
Not the sound at all. He sounded exactly the same during Graspop. He made the exact same pauses during his singing. The dude's voice is just completely unable to keep up. With that said, instrumentally, GnR still rocks.
It's called 'I realize we were so cynical and stupid calling people sellouts and saying they weren't talented and being stuck up about so many other bands and putting them down and not wanting to be associated with them in any way, or seen with them, or have our picture made with them.' It was stupid and lame. I hated all those people who as soon as a band would get successful - because they were good - you couldn't like them anymore. Or the ones who if they liked one type of music couldn't be caught dead liking another type of music. It was always so stupid. They would listen to bands who sucked just because they weren't successful, lol. Now they admit how dumb and cynical and full of it they were. I can't like a band if other people like them! I can't like their music if people have heard of them or God forbid they are considered mainstream! Dave Grohl, Flea, all of them now admit it.

@Trist805 The problem is Axl. The band sounds good but Axel can't sing anymore.
@@cristianriutort1 AXL, GODAMN. AXL
For people under 35, Dave Grohl when he was in Nirvana in the early 90s, had a very bad relationship with Guns and Roses, Kurt Cobain hated G&R ...I loved both bands
Matter of fact, Kurt hated Axl Rose. But hating Axl Rose was an easy thing back in the day.
In fact it's an easier thing now. Listen to that!
@@NegoClauDid he actually hate him or just think he was a pompous, self-important ass? In Kurt’s defence, Axl’s ego was out of control at the time (and for many years to come). Axl seems super chill these days. Great to see. 👍🏽
Actually Kurt wanted Axl to be his daughter's Godfather.
@@NegoClau😂😂😂😂😂😂
Now, they are all grown up and friends!!!
About Axl's voice:
- he struggles in mid range (mixed voice sounding like Mickey)
BUT
- not only his deep voice is great, but his very high voice is also amazing (that's why he was so surprisingly good with acdc but struggles with some gnr songs)
Honestly, the sound mix was fucked. You can literally hear it cut out at certain ranges with no mic movement away from the mouth.
So nice to see Dave Grohl happy like that! He seemed like one of the fans he allows to get onstage to play with the Foo Fighters!
Dave is definitely the elder statesmen of rock music now and its awesome
SLASHHHHH STILL SHREDDING IT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏽🤘🏽
People saying, give him a break. Hell no. That shit was fucking hilarious. Worth the tickets by far. 😂
atleast they still do it LIVE, still an epic show
A voice like a ….. But yes, legends never die.
I was gonna say... are we sure that's even him?
Wtf has happened to axl. That voice sounds like something from an alien or someone whos been sucking the helium out of a balloon. Axl listen to yourself.
Kermit?
Seen guns n roses live twice, 2008 & 2017 both time Axl had his traditional gravelly scream. This sounds like someone whose been huffing on the helium. Weird.
He sounds like someone at karaoke trying to sing like old Axel
Rock & Roll is all about the energy! We got it folks! Just listen and look at the crowd and band!
Honestly, at first, I was a little like, why do this to yourself? He doesn't sound that bad at times. His low voice is still rather good and some of the scream parts are still dang impressive at his age and what he's probably put that throat and vocal chords through.
Duff looks like David Bowie in Rock. Awesome Dude.
Sensacional apresentação do Guns n Roses.
I'm a huge guns fan and expected Axl to sound like this, 40 years of screeching your voice will do that, the mans 61, but damnnn the energy they all bring to the stage is fantastic! And you can tell theyre all having fun, the fans, the crew and band, its a win win :)
Sometimes he sounds as good as ever and then other times, he does this. I don't quite understand it.
Plenty of singers still sound great, this is ridiculous
weird one really I saw them live twice once at Slane Castle in 2017 and then Download 2018 and Axl sounded great but it just varies some nights they have it some nights they don't
@@thebordenasylum7726Can you share the link of a video where he actually sounds good in his recent tours?
He’s a joke now. If SNL did a parody of Guns N’ Roses and Pete Davidson sang as Axl it would still sound better than this. Drunk people singing karaoke sound better than this.
What I wouldn't give for Axl to give up the Mickey Mouse voice and just go full chest-voice. He's got a really good baritone and lower register that sounds much better.
After filling in with AC/DC I'm pretty sure he got stuck in that mode.
He has the widest ranging voice in the entire world, ahead of Mariah Carey, Whiney, all of them. He used to anyway.
@@clarkcrossley7579 Had. He Had a large ranging voice. Not anymore, but that's OK. It just happens with age.
@@BryanSteacy He still holds the record as widest ranging voice, nobody has beat him yet regardless of if he can sing now or not.
Now I can’t unhear Mickey

I want to see the Foos and Gnr in full :)
And Maneskin.
And Editors

How funny it is to think that in 1988 he said he didn't want to end up like Bruce Dickinson, and look who Bruce still sings, gives first-class concerts and remains tremendous for his age, and the other one, well...
My teenage Idols and they're still rocking it! So excited to see them on stage in Paris in 2 days.
Love how much fun Duff was having with Dave
Hot damn Mr. Axle Rose! He has literally been working his ass off. He's looking real good. Healthy. He's been working on his vocals too. Can annunciate and all. Good Work Axle! Knew you could do it.
People complaining about his voice. You can play guitar, bass and drums till your 90yrs old. That's easily done. But your voice will go out on you with age. This is the best I've heard him in years. He not 20 years old anymore. But he can still sing the hell out of these songs.🙂
@tedwesthaven there's plenty of great old singers! But age and discipline are a huge factor.
Just saw iron maiden, Bruce is better than ever. Def Leppard still nails it, Geoff Tate from queensryche is still amazing... the list goes on. Axl sounds ridiculous.
No. He sounds terrible
Exactly, he's not 20 years old, so he shouldn't try and sing like he is. There's plenty of good old singers as well, axl was just awful.
Not true, with proper training you sing BETTER when you get older. Luciano Pavarotti was at his absolute peak right before his death. With that said it's not an easy feat by any measure, and it's a lot easier when you take care of your body and health, something that was not really fashionable back in 80-90's rock.
5:02 EPIC!
4:55 Sounds like 80's Axl!
we all get old if we are lucky (well not everybody does).
well done Axl, Slash n' Duff.....keep rocking🤘
Take me down to the Paradise City..HA-HAA - Mickey Axl

61 and a lot of miles on that voice.
It's embarrassing 😢
@@speedballbustanutinc.4512 He's 61. Singing his style will ruin your voice, there's no escaping it.
@kylesmith9944 People been using his age as an excuse since he was 36
Really enjoyed Guns n Roses set!
@@ARyan-nf5my He just can't sing anymore so its damage limitation.
Gotta give credit to Axl. His voice has greatly diminished from his peak in the 80s and 90s, but he's still out there singing with his own voice instead of resorting to lip syncing to studio vocals like so many other singers. That shows integrity.
Brilliant. Why cant we have more bands like that
Because the sun has set on western civilization.
I think Slash's band with Myles Kennedy on vocals has been the best way to hear Guns and Roses songs live in recent times.
Axl sounds bad now, but he's still better than Myles
@@NamikSokolovic3778 Maybe he was at his peak but definitely not now. Myles Kennedy is one of the best rock singers around.
@@NamikSokolovic3778HAH! AXL once had the goods, but that day has passed his last great vocals was when he subbed for Brian Johnson in AC/DC, but since then Myles can sing rings around Axl! Sad but true!
I like so much Myles voice he's a great singer AND Slash's band sound great but lately I heard Adler's band AND he has a young singer that has a powerfull voice very similar Axl voice late 80's
Dave Grohl is the Phil Collins in Lived Aid of Glastonbury, he's everywhere
Axl seems to be in better shape now. Good for him
Better shape? He sings like an agonizing Mickey mouse
What a performance lads, from start to finish! Just Wow!
Is there any chance that Izzy and Steven would ever play at least one concert wit them again? That would be the ultimate concert to see them all back on stage together one last time
I doubt Steven is gonna play with them again ever but I could see Izzy coming back. He’s done it before

I have been going to rock shows for 50 years. I saw Guns and Roses a few years ago in NC. One of the best rock shows I have ever been to. Axl front man the best.
Appetite for Destruction is prob the best rock album ever made. Maybe Nevermind gives it a run for it’s money, special mention to Songs for the Deaf, but all these years later AFD is still the best IMO 👍
Love, Peac and Respect From Indonesia
Crazy to me that Guns have not tuned down any of their songs. The songs were already tough to sing when Axl was in his prime!
At what stage his voice is if they would tune down and he wouldn't try this falsetto, you would see his real voice and I don't know if we want this 😅😅
Yep, his chest voice is still amazing. Maybe he feels like its accepting defeat.
@@stefang2615 Axl's deep voice still sounds really powerful live. Much better than the Mickey Mouse voice that happens when he tries to use his old raspy voice that's long gone
Its the first thing a musician thinks to try. But as we can see your pretty hard pressed to find a musician in gnr these days 😅
@Dave_Albright From to many lives dates, or wear and tear over his career?
Slash is just blazing at the outro!...wow.🤘
Whoever mixed this should go to jail
Your comment made me laugh, but i agree. It's rediculous for such a big festival / band to have this shitty mix
Proper mixing won't save Axl's voice @brianybrianbrian. Retirement will save his voice. (Or whatever is still left of that)
I think there is something in the Geneva Convention against this level of board mix .
Ok it wasnt just me, this mix is trash

Dave Grohl live rock star fantasy camp every time he can. Love it
Remember, this is the man yelling "Hi Axl Hi Axl Hi Axl" in the 90s. He was defending his friend.
The two men have matured exponentially.
I saw GNR in Perth last year and Axl sounded amazing. I'm not sure if it's the mix or just a bad day but he sounds like Mickey Mouse here.
Id still never miss the chance to see them play
It’s definitely the sound , I watched it on bbc and it kept cutting out
No, not really the sound.
It sounds like he can still sing somewhat in the original key, it's just that he has lost all the power in his voice.
What’s that weird burp sound in his low register? Marathon set to put your voice through though
Kind of funny to see Dave playing with Axl considering Nirvana's history with Guns N Roses.
Is this axel rose?? No dude voice is gone forever and ever
So good to see how few cellphones there are. People are actually watching and listening to the concert.
Momento histórico Dave Grohl tocando com Guns N' Roses isso se chama amadurecimento, ainda mais com a nervosa Paradise City que eu adoro
