    It was a coincidence to see this video today as I was making some planning in my fitness! It would be awesome to see more videos on fitness and nutrition. I'm sure everyone can learn from it or integrate your ideas!

    I’ve spent the last few months trying to dial in a personal minimalist fitness routine, with the goal being 6 days a week routine that is 15-30 minutes, done at home in the morning, and hit most of the basic movement patterns. Right now this is what I have:
    A: Goblet Squats, Superset of weighted ring dips and ring rows.
    B: Kettlebell lunges, Superset of weighted pullups and kettlebell clean & press.
    Days in between A & B: 100 one-arm kettlebell swings in 5 minutes, 10 turkish get-ups in 10 minutes.
    And then outside of the workouts, just pickup basketball, hill sprints, stairs sprints, hiking, walking, rucking, weighted kettlebell carry whenever I have the time. The equipments needed is pretty minimal too, just a doorframe pullup bar, gymnastic rings, and some kettlebells.

    • @leemanwrong
      @leemanwrong 3 роки тому

      Very similar to what i do. A is 100 kettlebell swings and 10 turkish get ups (slowly working my way up to the beast) and B is barbell deadlifts and kettlebell overhead presses (singles working up to a heavy weight). In between those days i will do some kind of upper body antagonistic superset, handstand pushups and pull ups or push ups and ring rows or dips and inverted rows (sets of 10 with bodyweight or sets of 5 with added weight). I also ride my push bike to work and on days off i try to get outside and have some fun riding around.

    • @M0ebius
      @M0ebius 3 роки тому

      @@leemanwrong Oh wow that is for sure very similar conceptually. Supersetting the antagonist muscles was a game changer for me, really cutting down on the time needed without any significant setbacks to progression. I also had some WTF moments after adding goblet squats and kettlebell swings into my routine, particularly when I’m playing pickup ball. I’m turning my hips easier and exploding faster. The only thing I’m kinda missing is the heavy lifts, specifically barbell squats and deadlifts, but I love the minimalist setup and I’m not really into having to get a full on squat rack and plates.

    My formula for exercise is to just work out 10 minutes a week, with 7 days recovery. I keep it challenging by going one set to failure except during HIIT. Reverse lunge to knee drive and hop (one per leg), superset with 2 sets of 20 full range deep knee bends with 20 second rest), pull-ups, push-ups, shoulder press, 30 second L-sit, 30 arch-ups, and some basic stretches. I've never been fitter (LCHF + IF helps, a lot). Doug McGuff's Big 5 program and Mike Mentzer's Heavy Duty Consolidation Program are also relatively brief.

    Love this video. I've been on and off with fitness for a while and have been increasing the consistency over the past year (from x3 weekly to nothing at all but the gap in between keeps getting shorter!) I loved the point of switching an exercise routine for something simpler on days you just don't feel in the groove. As long as you're doing something its better than nothing. I like it, thanks for reminding me! I actually paused your video to do a mini workout- ha! On a separate note, the quality and angles filmed in this were great. Loved the outdoor shots. Such well shot scenes, especially the outdoor and slowmo' ones. Lately I struggle with even getting my a** up daily. There is much university work to do and my motivation for other activities slowly shrinked. Furthermore, now I've got even more excuses (cold and wet weather in Germany, fatique etc.) and alltogether it seems to be a viscious circle.
