      @@VaerWatches patiently waiting for my Korean c3 to come in though 😂 also, just for feedback purposes: I chose the Korean c3 vs the tradition because I felt that the dial was “flat” it didn’t have “layers/levels” as I like to call them. I loved the explorer feel though. If it had a deeper applied indices and a more muted black vs deep black, that would’ve been my choice! I might have to save up if you ever make it an automatic. Love what you guys are doing and what you stand for, keep it up fam 🔥

    Ordered an Atlantic yesterday, found this presentation today. After watching, I’ve removed any possibility of second guessing the purchase, before even receiving the piece. You men seem to truly love and care about what you do, it’s always great to know I’ve put my money towards a product that has intention and care behind it.

    I just ordered mine (Arctic). Love the solar power and the design. This is now my FOURTH Vaer and is now part of my "unauthorized collection" (meaning one of the many watches I have purchased after saying I'm done buying) Ugh! I need another watch like a hole in the head (collection is WAY too large now) but I do really love all of them. You guys are really knocking it out of the park!

      Thanks for the continued support - really means a lot. While I can't guarantee that we'll slow down on our plans to keep releasing cool new models, I can at least say that 1) anyone who's purchased more than 1 watch from us, has directly funded their own 2nd purchase, as we're independently run and financed, and use almost all our profit to make new and better watches. 2) Hopefully, if we reach our long-term goals for the company, many of our early models (which are created in quite small batches) will continue to hold, and even gain value as rarity/collector/brand appeal continues to increase overtime. All the best, we look forward to getting that D4 Arctic into your hands.

    My D4 is coming this week:) I have 4 of their other watches. Great stuff. They are becoming my simple watch collection. Love the focus on veterans, US workers, outdoors, history, watchucation (watch + education), and the environment. My C3 and my Dirty Dozen watch are fabulous.

    Leather might not be a great idea for diving, but a dive watch is excellent for backpacking and leather is absolutely great for that. A durable waterproof watch with solar charging and a unidirectional bezel is a no-brainer for me. Looks like I found my outdoor watch.

    Love my Vaer field watch. It’s just perfect. Unassuming. Not flashy. Just classic. I’ve wanted a diver for a while, but I find the luxury brands a bit too flashy and just don’t want to spend $6000 or more. I had a nice B&R for a few years but ultimately sold it. I really like the Vaer aesthetic and design choices. I respect the thought going into the watches, the authentic lifestyle approach (as opposed to pretending we’re all deep see oil rig divers, astronauts or secret agents - with the hundreds of dollars per watch we end up paying for all the marketing of the luxury brands). I VERY nearly just bought a Vaer GMT automatic, but honestly, lovely at that is, I actually prefer the ease and accuracy of Quartz. So, with all that, this solar diver is perfect for me so I’ve just ordered one. And, after this last year of Covid, perhaps a Zombie apocalypse is coming! 😂

    Another solid option in the lineup. Creative to see a solar dive watch from a microbrand. Maybe something to add alongside my zombie apocalypse choice Seiko Arnie. For the AI robot apocalypse that follows that.

    Well done lads, it's a wonderful enterprise you've embarked upon. One suggestion I'd make for future designs is the use of a box crystal for some of your vintage inspired watches. That would complete the look. And you don't have to use sapphire. Start out with acrylic to get a feel for whether that's what the market wants. If it's popular, you can then upgrade to sapphire. Anyway, wish you guys every success.

      Ryan and I have both had the C3 Tradition on our wrists for over a year (funny that we have pretty close taste even within the Vaer lineup), and the addition of the D4 is in many ways, a chance for us to get something new on our wrist out in the water. I think the C3/D4 is a great combo. Great suggestion on the California dial, a Vaer C3 California would be a very very cool product concept.

    Man these are slick. I know I'm shouting to the void here but one of these with a white arctic (sub seconds on atlantic rustle my jimmies for a quartz movement) face, matte ceramic bezel, and date window would check a lot of boxes. I know the field watch will have a date but having the bezel too is super handy.

    I absolutely love your watches, they include the design features that I have been waiting for long: the 39 mm size for a solar watch and the easy removal of the bracelet with the simple addition of a lever. Now take the next step: ceramic bezel for your diver watches, titanium cases and bracelets, and a solar GMT, a GMT bezel only will do the trick. If you contact me, I'l give you an idea of a clasicc watch that NOBODY is doing right, many make some suboptimal copies that alwais disapoint.

    Very well made design, the case finishing is amazing. Although I do not own any Vaer watches, in fact was an unknown brand to me till I stumbled on your previous vid. This a model I would go for if it were mechanical. I do avoid automatic watches when engaged in some activities like wood splitting despite the fact that the auto watch will stop getting power after fully winded. In all my 35+ years of watch collecting, am still amazed by the alive mechanism. Yes, at times that I do not wear a watch, a quartz might be a solution. Yes, I agree that the solar and the kinetic are by far more functional than the standard quartz and definitely in remote places with very little to no access to service centers, the solar is a great option.

    These look great, nice job guys. I'm digging the new case design and thanks for going with the 38/39mm (the smaller cases sizes are classic). Now I'm just trying to decide between the Arctic and Atlantic. Is it in my head, or does the lume on the Arctic seem a tiny bit stronger than the Atlantic in this video? Do you find the lume on one is better than the other in your real world experience? Finally, if the battery were to ever fail, is battery replacement on this watch as easy as a typical quartz watch?

    • @VaerWatches
      @VaerWatches  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment Shane, glad you're digging the design. The battery replacement is straightforward and is as simple as the average quartz. Regarding the notes on lume, it should be pretty darn negligible - both lume applications are strong, though not X1-grade like our D5/D7 models. From my personal experience, I seem to notice the lume on the Old Radium designs a bit more (though I also wear a C3 Tradition as my daily watch). It's a tough call overall, both are selling very evenly. I'll probably wear the Arctic, because I like the vintage feel, and it's a bit more distinctive, but the Atlantic is an unquestionable classic that works with any strap/look. Tough decision overall!

    I sure hope this serves my purposes I recently bought a Vaer watch for my self and it quit it is water resist -100meters. I do Art in mixed medium and need it for my work I believe in your product and have made purchases and gifted the others. Wind up watches in my youth never lasted more than say a 1/2 a year. Battery watches would work longer maybe a year or 2 the battery die and than it was nye impossible to get the battery replaced. I found the longer I kept it going the less likely I was to find a new battery. all that said, I am, at home in the ocean.

      Got to agree with Vaer. I'm a veteran and have worn out plastic on G-shocks and acrylic faces fairly quickly so bad that the watch could barely be used. Most quartz movements are so tough that if the movement is damaged by actual shock, you are dead (maybe a zombie got you).

    What's the expected life of the battery/capacitor?

    • @VaerWatches
      @VaerWatches  3 роки тому +3

      Great question David, we did quite a bit of research on this topic and the results are highly variable. The short answer would be around 10 years - but we also found a lot of reports of solar watches keeping time for 20+ years on the original battery. The Epson in the D4 is high-torque, and the dial/hand length is relatively small, AND I know our team in the USA does a great job with pinion height/hand alignment, so the potential impact/wear/friction on the movement should be relatively low compared to larger/mass-produced solar watches. Kept in a drawer for 5 years would not be good for the battery, but I believe left undisturbed in ambient light it would keep running for a very very long time.

    • @VaerWatches
      @VaerWatches  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks David, apologies for the confusion there - the reason for the different prices is the different options for the 2nd strap/bracelet. The base price for a Tropic strap + Nylon strap combo is $279. Adding the Bracelet as 2nd strap is $329, and adding the Horween leather is $359. Apologies for the confusion there - many people have brought this up, and we need to do a better job communicating how strap selections impact the price point.

    A date complication would make this the perfect watch.

    Your specs as far as watch case thickness is a bit confusing.

      Happy to clarify! What specifically is confusing?

      I got it. 10.6. I didn’t understand the case back being sapphire but I was tired. On another note, It’s just hard to believe that the case with domed crystal is 10.6mm thick so I was trying to verify that. That’s thin. I like it. Thanks

    죄송하지만 구매 안 하시는 걸 추천드립니다. 리뷰영상에 C3 시계 Vaer Watches 공홈을 통해 직구했습니다.
    Vaer Watches 쪽의 실수로 인보이스 상 $1500로 기재되어 통관에 문제가 생겼습니다. 당연히 Vaer Watches 쪽에 인보이스 수정요청하였고, 수정하여 보내준 다는 답변 이메일로 받았습니다. 일주일이 넘도록 어떤 피드백도 없다가, 갑자기 환불해줄테니 다시 보내던지 파기하던지 하라는 황당한 답변을 받았습니다.
    형 생일선물로 주문한 거였는데, 완전히 망쳤네요. 이 업체 기본적인 고객응대 시스템도 갖춰져 있지 않은 업체입니다. 게다가 공홈 어디에서도 전화번호를 찾을 수가 없어 오직 이메일로 문의해야 만 합니다. 하지만 이메일 문의도 거의 답변 받기 힘들고, 간단한 답변도 시간이 너무 걸립니다.
    이 시계 주문한게 제 직구 경험 중 최악이었네요. 다른 분들은 피보지 마시길…
